It would not connect all over the house. Just in a few rooms, unlike other computers we own. We bought this right before the pandemic and use two different google emails for our 12 year old. One for school and one for home. It’s been wonderful to not have to depend on the school chrome book. Other than that, we like the touch screen feature of this one but I just think investing a little more in a regular laptop would have been a better idea.

Good starter & lightweight laptop

An issue I had was that I had Microsoft classes that required me to do short cuts & click on certain tabs on the screen that weren’t available on this laptop, since the Microsoft programs were not the desktop versions. I would have to do those work on another computer. My fault though, I didn’t realize Chromebook are app based laptops. Another problem I had was flipping to tablet mode, occasionally, it would turn off & restart saying that it was not shut down properly. Otherwise it’s a great lightweight laptop that I will continue to use for other classes.

I didn't want an expensive chromebook nor did I want the cheapest. This seemed like it would be a good middle. However I am very disappointed with the camera and the screen resolution. My low quality android phone has a better front facing camera. I should have paid more attention and researched the camera quality. All in all, it meets the basic needs of homeschooling. And we enjoy that it is a touch screen.

The google chrome is doing very well job on this machine. I can trust it with my 10 years old nephew that he will not cause any accidental damage (deleting files). Battery life is more than needed. Boots fast and acceptable sharp screen. No complaints at all. Linux apps have some lag but well.. Still doing the job perfectly. Using and share using it with the whole family. So far it is doing just fine. Not the gaming rig but it is more than just a website browser.

Would not purchase this for homeschooling

Owned for 3 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought this in late feb. the first couple weeks it was okay we were using it for general browsing and YouTube but then with the COVID 19 we had to homeschool our 10 year old. The chrome book at the same time had severe WiFi connectivity issues and we had to use an Ethernet to stay connected and the issue was due to a google software bug others were having the issue also. I figured out if I did a reset and then shut off automatic updates I could prevent it from getting the buggy update and it would connect again but that took a long time to figure out. 1. It will not allow other user profiles to access apps or the google play store no matter how much I play with settings 2. It blocks adobe flash which a lot of websites are using to play videos for school 3. The WiFi connectivity is buggy 4. There is no caps lock button and there’s a search button where caps would be which is annoying 5. The volume isn’t very loud So overall I would say this would really only be good for YouTube or light browsing, if you want something for homeschooling I’d recommend a laptop, I’m guessing even a cheaper laptop is going to be better than this for most internet work or school. The only real plus I can say about it is that it has a good battery life.
