This may be a software problem but since it's new (less than a month), have not installed that many programs. It was set up by a Geek. It's just bothersome when it occurs. So far am not a fan of Windows 10 for it's lack of additions that I was used to in Windows 7. There are an adequate number of ports. I like it's light weight and smaller footprint, but not the black color. I give this a 3.5 stars. But if it keeps running will likely use it for many years. I can't say yet whether I would or would not recommend this to a friend but I can't choose maybe below.

This configuration is extremely powerful, with the Six-Core/Twelve-Thread Intel Core i7-8700 processor, with a bases speed of 3.2GHz and a Turbo Boost speed of up to 4.6GHz. This processor is supported by 12GB DDR4-2666MHz RAM. Windows 10 should not freeze up. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686

I pay bills and do important financial work for personal reasons once a month and check balances/transactions. I don't use social media or gaming. NEVER!!! It is a waste of intelligence and intellectual curiosity. I bought this PC only because of Windows 7 being ousted by January 2020. There are a few things I have to figure out but I guess it works okay for me. I bought much more computer than I needed but if it is worth having, it should last for years as my Gateway has and still is. The Windows 10 issue is the only reason I purchased another. Webroot doesn't work as well for some reason and my subscription is billed annually which I will probably cancel end of next month. Geek Squad was not very helpful.!!!

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaCentre 510A desktop. Webroot virus protection software is completely compatible with the Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System on this model. You do need to uninstall the 30-day trial of McAfee virus protection first, before you install Webroot though. There can only be one active virus protection software on the device at a time. You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. Just type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help.

Good computer for the price.

It is perfect for both of those things so far. It is extremely fast to start up and the execution of tasks is also extremely quick. Although, it should be mentioned that I updated its RAM from 12 to 16. That is one flaw. I wish it would have come with more RAM or a motherboard to accommodate for 32 GB of RAM - oh well, it still gets the job done flawlessly. Lastly, it should be noted that this computer comes with a BUNCH of bundleware and preloaded apps. It does not bog down the computer too much, but if you take off all of the useless programs and apps, it seems to run a lot smoother. If it weren't for all the useless bundleware and annoying McAffe advertising I would have give it five stars for my purposes. All in all, great buy for the price point.

I'm also using Photoshop and other software programs that are processor heavy but no worries or lag at all! Well...the only negative is this machine has no onboard speakers..but that's a minor thing. Overall I'm very satisfied with my purchase!

Even Win 10 was already at the 1803 Feature level. Additional software loaded without a hitch. Can tell a performance boost over my past i5 processor PC. On board graphics does a fine job for normal usage. I'm not a gamer. SD card reader and USB 3.1 great for extra portable storage or transferring files. No complaints so far.
