Customers commend the IdeaPad 130 for its budget-friendly price, with many stating it's worth the cost. The 15.6-inch screen size is also well-received, as are the inclusion of a DVD drive and solid-state storage. However, the laptop is criticized for its slow performance, short battery life, and limited RAM.

I purchased this for my mother to browse the internet, go on social media and write documents. The screen size is very nice and I love that the keyboard has a full set of number keys on the side like a traditional keyboard. It was very easy to set up. It also looks nice with a matte finish. For a budget computer that will be used for basic functions, I highly recommend.

Just got one on sale for $239. It seems to be an excellent choice if you only need a laptop for web browsing and light multi-tasking. Contrary to an earlier comment I saw from Lenovo saying it does not come in S mode, mine did, but it was easy enough to convert to Windows Home. I may end up upgrading the RAM to 8GB, but it is probably not critical to do so unless you need to do photo editing and such.

This might not be the fastest or best laptop for some people but it is just great for me. I don't do a lot of things so I can get my email done and search the net and anything way faster now. I'm still getting used to Windows 10 as my desktop is a Windows 7 and I have been happy with it. But I think this Lenovo is great, my son checked it out for me and because it is a solid state it seems to be better.

In setting this up for my client, I was pleasantly surprised by the performance considering the fairly low price. I have purchased probably 8-10 Lenovo's both laptops and desktops for clients over the last two to three years. No problems with any of the machines so far, and in my opinion very good performance for the price paid! Definitely worth taking a look at and considering if you're in the market.

I'll use this mostly offline for word processing and spreadsheets. Works well with my mobile hotspot. Added no 64g of extra storage and will backup frequently. I'm not a cloud fan. Haven't used the optical drive yet but I'm sure I will wouldn't have bought this without one. I guess the only negative thing for me is only having two usb ports. Since one is dedicated to my mouse.

Bought this laptop a couple of months ago. Bought it to replace my old, slow laptop. I am happy with its speed. It boots up in seconds and loads web pages quickly. Speakers aren't that great, but that isn't a priority for me. Overall, I like this laptop. However, the reason that I am rating it a 3 is the battery life. I don't know if I just happened to get one with a bad battery, but I get 2 hours at best. Even if I'm only reading email or news articles (no videos), I get 2 hours. If I play a couple of word games online (like scrabble), I get ~ 1 1/2 hrs. The battery on my old laptop lasts longer. Overall, it's a good laptop, but the battery life is extremely disappointing.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 130-15 laptop ships with a 2CELL 30WH, Lithium Polymer Battery, with battery life of up to 4 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. To maximize battery life, first adjust your battery saver settings. Here is a link to instruction for doing this in Windows 10: https://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-use-configure-battery-saver-windows-10. Next, to maximize battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background, draining the battery. Here is a link to some tips for finding out what is draining your battery: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/battery-saver-windows-10. Also, to maximize battery life, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. You can do this in the control panel, in the power management category on your system. Select a more conservative power management setting to extend battery life. Finally, if the battery life does not improve, a battery reset may help. Here is a link to instructions for reconditioning a non-removable battery, using the Battery Management Software installed on the computer. If you need further assistance, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Here is the link: https://windowsreport.com/laptop-battery-not-charging-windows-10/

The price for this laptop with an SSD is great and it runs smoothly overall, but the fact that it does not feature the option to select reverse scrolling with the touchpad. Of all of the laptops we have ever owned, this is the first not to feature the option. I searched online and even chatted online with a Lenovo rep who told me this would not be available with this touchpad. We have another older Lenovo that offers this option so it's disappointing to see it not include in this newer one.

Laptop was purchased for my daughter since it has a SSD and her old laptop did not. It is super snappy and comes with enough hard drive storage for the price. It is great for what she uses it for, but maybe it should be noted somewhere that it comes in S mode and that you will need to change it to the Windows 10 Home version if you would like to do more stuff.
Otherwise, great laptop.

I use the laptop for travel. It was very easy to switch to Windows 10 Home. I was initially concerned about the 128GB drive but it easily handled the programs I use. I got rid of a number programs i don't use. The response time is fast enough for me - does not lag. I can't speak to battery life because I primarily have it plugged when using.

It's a joy to have a newer computer with more options. I'm not sure I know how to use it to its fullest yet, but hopefully I'll get the hang of Windows 10 as I go along. One suggestion would be to have the square where you click & scroll in a different color as I'm having trouble getting my fingers in the right spot without looking down to see where I need to put them!!!!!

I mainly use for school work and sometimes to watch anime. When you first start up the computer when it is new, it will be slow going on power up. However as you use it more it will power up faster. Battery life is not good and goes through your charge fast, but the battery charges fast as well, so give and take on battery. Over all a useful laptop.

Snagged it on sale unbeatable price for the performance. You want to jam in a bigger stick of RAM even though it voids the warranty. Also if you’re not going to take that advice make sure you open the task manager and disable all the startup programs or you won’t have a smooth startup. It’s not really loaded down with junk either. I bought an Acer a week later and it wasn’t much better and cost significantly more. Bottom line this processor is pretty fast but runs hot clocked at this speed. If you want to play games on this you’ll need a cool pad. As far as anything else you should have no problems it’ll all come naturally.

Overall, you get more than you pay for with this laptop. For the basics (web browsing, playing streaming music, etc) this Lenovo works really well. The only real downside is the 4gb Ram, however, this can easily upgraded. The SSD drive is fairly small, but works fine with everything being cloud based at this point. This is not a gaming machine or something that can handle high end photo/video editing. If you are looking for such capabilities look elsewhere. If you need a solid low end laptop to handle your basic needs, this is an excellent value for the price.
