Customers commend the IdeaPad 130 for its budget-friendly price, with many stating it's worth the cost. The 15.6-inch screen size is also well-received, as are the inclusion of a DVD drive and solid-state storage. However, the laptop is criticized for its slow performance, short battery life, and limited RAM.

I upgraded the memory to 8GB, took the laptop out of S Mode, and started from a fresh install. The unit works well for web browsing and some occasional low settings gaming. I also use a laptop cooling pad to let the system run at its best as well.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 130-15 laptop is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD A9-9425 processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 3.1GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.7GHz. This configuration has 4GB of DDR4-1866MHz RAM and a 128GB solid state hard drive. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. If this describes your computing needs, the IdeaPad 130-15 would be a good choice for you. Please keep in mind, this model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. We recommend you consult your certified technician about your upgrade options. Lenovo

I normally use mac's but in this case a windows pc is required for some business programs I have to use this computer for - It is used exclusively for communication via a LAN port (which it has internally) with a PAYCLOCK and it's corresponding software . the main selling points for this for me were the SSD and the ethernet port. I have had very reliable performance so far and I expect because of the ssd that things will be ok as some other pc's failed on me due to the HDD they had . I mention this because I dont ever turn the computer off . ever. it needs to have a constant connection to the internet all the time and be able to "poll" on demand remotely. this is the reason my older pc failed - the HDD stopped working - also the price is great for the speed and performance I saw while using it.

One of our international students needed a Laptop to continue her study work back home. This laptop fit the bill for her: affordable, fast (128GB SSD), and very portable. She only does non-graphics intensity work so the baseline graphics card here was not a problem for her. The laptop worked out perfectly for her and she was very pleased!

The keyboard feels a little cheap. I don't like the touch pad in that the left and right mouse keys are actually part of the touchpad itself, at the very bottom left and right corners. When you slide your finger to that spot, you usually wind up moving the pointer and you wind up missing what you wanted to click on. In addition, the battery life is no where near as long as my 4 year old Lenovo laptop. I'm sorry I bought this on line, I should have gone into the store and tried it. I would have purchased something different.

I have had many laptops before this! I would rather run my windows XP or Windows 7 laptop over this! This thing is junk! It can be fully charged at 100% battery use it for 15 mins and leave it for a day and it will be dead! It's super slow! Card reader won't hardly read anything. I thought computers were supposed to get better but not in this case! This is the worst one I think I ever bought brand new! It's no surprise they are no longer selling it! I got it because some people still like using a disc drive and I thought the SSD would be good hell that is even slow. Overall buy a HP or another brand this one fails at all levels!

This is a great entry level laptop for getting basic work done. The solid state drive makes the computer much more responsive and quick to boot than similar models with HDDs. Lenovo's keyboards typically are always great to type on and this one has a great feel. I like trackpad buttons rather than the embedded style this one has, but that is personal preference, and this trackpad works well. The driver software seems to not allow you to invert the scroll direction that some other trackpad drivers do - but you get used to this. Having an ethernet port is a bonus. Screen is big and bright with text easy to read for older eyes. Battery life is limited when doing something like a video conference presentation with screensharing, but most plug in their computers for demanding tasks.

So I am enjoying this computer. I ordered it right before the pandemic shut everything down, and I think in a way I lucked out. It's fast, and I like it. But the downsides are the battery life and length of the powercord. SO the battery lasts maybe 2 hours. Ok then. So you think "I'll just plug it in." Well you have to be close to the outlet, and I mean real close. It's about half the length of a "standard" powercord. If you can keep it near a power source you won't have many problems...

This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 3.1GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.7GHz. This configuration has 4GB of DDR4-1866MHz RAM and a 128GB solid state hard drive. This configuration will bootup quickly and load your programs and files quickly thanks to the solid state hard drive It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. If you are getting slower than expected performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. I guess I'm not sure what I expected with a computer in this price range but I knew immediately when I took it out of the box I wasn't going to like it. My work computer, which to compare has 12GB ram and a SSD, has set my standards too high. This computer was big, heavy, and clunky. My main use for this computer was just going to be anything my work computer has restricted me from being able to do (Cricut design space, installing fonts, checking personal email). Because I felt I needed to give it a chance past its looks, I went through the Windows setup process. Fine, no problems. Installed system updates, opened a couple of programs at the same time to see if it could handle it, it seemed to. I opened Edge to look at BestBuy website to start looking for a different computer and it did not perform well. I had multiple tabs open comparing different computers and it started acting slow. Now I realize it has only 4gb ram but I thought this was ridiculous. I know it wasnt our wifi, we have more than sufficient bandwidth for my husband to be gaming while I watch Netflix. Anywho, I returned this within 24 hours of its arrival. I am going to wait to spend a bit more on something that can meet my expectations.
