All in all this is a great gaming PC for the money. I upgraded the RAM to 32GB and she runs great. I did have a problem with random freezing, but as soon as I flashed the bios with the latest update that problem went away completely. Delivery was smooth and hassle free. I'm very happy with my purchase!

NOT for gamers

I purchased this pre-built machine after doing lots of reading. But what my reading DIDN'T reveal is that this machine is absolutely NOT for real gamers.
All I wanted to do was add more RAM. Too bad. Lenovo has locked the BIOS so you can't make any RAM adjustments. So my only option is to buy from a select number of limited inferior RAM options for which you really have to hunt to find a decent price.
This was discovered after I bought extra memory and my computer consistently had Blue Screens of Death (BSOD) for DPC_Watchdog_Violation, freezes of up to a minute, and NO SOUND. It took me forever to realize it was a RAM incompatibility.
I've done tons of tests, Windows updates, uninstalling Windows updates, and ultimately resetting the PC and doing a clean install of Windows.
Windows is not the problem.
I've gone back to the original RAM now and am still having random restarts (though I finally got sound back).
All of this was discovered AFTER the return period ended, by a few days. Now I'm stuck with a lemon and my choices are spend more money for Geek Squad so they can tell me one of the storage drives or the motherboard is likely at fault, try to sell it for a major loss, or attempt to go through the Lenovo warranty.
UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED. This could've served my needs for several years. It was the best combo of processor and graphics cards I could find at the time. But I desperately wish I hadn't bought this.

The PC is a great deal with great parts, especially in this market. Unfortunately it freezes randomly regardless of run time and load size. Sometimes it doesnt freeze for hours. Other times it freezes right after boot up. I bought this for my girl friend, to get her into this world of PC gaming and it has proven to be a challenge for sure. Im thinking it could be a hard drive issue, maybe the drive is causing OS issues. Havent noticed anything specific that could be the reason. Great buy, just be aware of thd possibilities.

I wish i could give this 0 stars , i have had this computer since september of 2021 and i have had to have it repaired for software issues and hardware issues multiple times and at this point the entire thing quit on me , and they will not refund me or take it back . When i got the pc it had a non working led fan and when inquiring about it i was told the model has that bug . I can not believe the horrible service i have recieved in relation to this complete pile of garbage pc i spent nearly 1000$ on

The machine itself is nice but I bought an open box I had to return the first one due to not being reset even though geek squad certified it as good to go and when the second one arrived it didn’t work and I had to reseat the ram to get it to work and since I have had no issues

I purchased the Lenovo - Legion Tower six weeks prior to the writing of this review. I waited that long because it had several features on it that I understood would take time to configure and get working to my liking. However, I feel that six weeks is ample time to be able to discern whether or not the computer is going to function at the tasks that I specifically purchased it for. As of the time of this review, it is not.
The main reason I purchased this computer was for it's supposed ability to be able to stream and record video game footage. The tower in itself is not capable of this but it supports a hardware upgrade that is supposed to make this possible. So, I purchased the necessary peripheral to accomplish this (which I will have to review later) yet after six weeks of troubleshooting it I still cannot get it to carry out this function.
The main reason in disclosing my experience with this product at this time is that I hope that I can be helpful to someone who might be aspiring to do something similar. My hope was that I could use this computer (along with the purchased upgrade) to record gameplay footage from an external video game console. I have had no luck accomplishing this with this piece of hardware at this time in spite of having the supposed hardware upgrades that are supposed to accomplish exactly that.
I guess I try to appreciate where it is I could have went wrong here. I guess I would consider my setup and try to understand that maybe there is one (if not multiple) components that are not conducive to fulfilling the vision I had for this device. I also strive to appreciate that although I consider myself quite literate with my devices that maybe I am missing something here as configuring the software has been a huge order where it's quite possible that one (if not multiple) of my settings might be preventing this device from functioning the way that I intended it to.
Another thought is that the device seems to cater very specifically to Microsoft/Xbox. I can't help but wonder if this is a problem with my setup since I was going to try to capture game footage from Nintendo and Playstation products.
I consider myself very disappointed in this computer. Since it cannot stream/record like I wanted it too, it's main purpose now nothing more than a device that runs Microsoft Office and/or is used for web browsing. Very clearly if this all that I wanted out of a new device something much more economic could have been acquired in it's place. The computer was very expensive which does nothing more but add to the disappointment of it not functioning at the tasks that I specifically picked it out for.
Buyer beware; BIG TIME!

DO NOT BUY - BSOD FREQUENT ISSUE AND KNOWN SUPPORT

Has a BSOD crash that Lenovo support knows about and has the only workaround is disabling all audio via the motherboard. Nonresponsive when asking for within warranty replacement or alternative. This ticket has been active since this build's release and Lenovo support has not fixed. They just wait until your warranty is up so they can say 'too bad'. I have 6 months left on the warranty and want to return it so bad.

I bought this pc on 1 Aug 21 and for the first couple of weeks, it did fine. After that, the pc would freeze 3 or 4 times a day. And even when it rebooted, it would not have any audio. Sometimes it did; most times it did not.
I'm not impressed. My 9 year old pc I assembled did better that this one.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Legion Tower 5i Gaming Desktop Computer. Since the system was working properly before the issue occurred, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.
