I bought this to replace my 10 year old Vaio. It’s a decent laptop but if you’re looking for one to use for years, this isn’t it. It’s pretty slow and the battery life isn’t the best. It is easy to use and great for the simple things.

This computer is used for my son's schooling. The touchpad is a little unresponsive so inourchased a mouse. The one thing I didnt like was that in order to install my security software, i had to remove the Microsoft S something. It is used to try and force you to use Microsoft approved software. It was blocking the download. That was irritating and really needs to be removed. Other than that, it is a good computer for what we need.

With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Here is a link to instructions for switching from Windows 10 S-Mode to Windows 10 Home: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4456067/windows-10-switch-out-of-s-mode

My son's computer broke. I bought this as a gift with the help of 2 different sales people. I researched it on line before shopping. Chose it for price and storage. Thought it was a nice replacement. I had a budget and it was at the top end but chose it over another cheaper one. The sales people said the loading speeds was better and more updated than the other one. My son is happy with my choice

Purchased the laptop recently, for my wife, so she can do all her school stuff (zoom, correspondence with teachers, etc...).
It does everything pretty well, even the videos seem decent quality for the price point this laptop fits. Only complaint, if there is one, would be the battery life seems to drain pretty quickly when used for zoom meetings, or video... Otherwise happy!

Due to the stay at home order, I am working at home. My techy nieces and nephews advised me to get another laptop instead of using my personal one.
Like most lap top, you need an external cd/dvd drive. I was able to hook up my personal printer and mouse. The software for the virus installation was easy, once it gets to the page to type the serial that was on the e-mail from Best Buy. No problem setting up the wi-fi. Its light weight, which is a big plus. Best Buy curb side pick-up work out fine.

I bought the device mainly for the storage capacity and there's no disappointment there. However, I had no idea it would be so slow. So I upgraded the RAM from 4 to the maximum 16 Gigs and there is very little difference in speed. Apparently, the CPU is the bottleneck. Still, it's a good, solid laptop and I like the full size keyboard.

We bought this laptop for my husbands parents to do web chatting with us and general internet surfing. This laptop is slow. Unbelievably so. Like a 30 second delay or so in order to open an internet browser or a file explorer window. Not sure who is this is marketed for. My laptop that is 10 years old runs faster than this one. Since they don’t really know the difference we will let them keep it and not return it. But this has definitely skewed my opinions on purchasing a Lenovo again. Which is unfortunate as I was debating one of their new machines with a ryzen in it. Not gonna happen.

I bought this for my 10 and 13 year old to complete their work and it works great. The only downfall is the battery goes out quickly so I find myself charging the battery 2 times for the day after each child is finish with their assignments. I’m also not use to the touchpad since I’m use to having a button because of having a Dell.

Purchased as a starter laptop for our daughter to do her homework and schoolwork on. Runs great for those tasks that it was purchased for. This is not a "gaming pc" by any means. I had to disable Windows S to be able to install the antivirus and other programs that are not downloadable from the Windows store. It did not seem to affect the speed of the processor or ram in a negative was and still is able to complete the tasks she needs it too. I would recommend for a starter/school laptop. Very lightweight and portable. Decent battery life.

If you don't need a powerful, fast, with a big ram capacity then this works perfectly. 1TB of storage is great for anyone who doesn't have lots of media. If you need a business team meeting, several programs, multitasking computer? This isn't it. The ram isn't designed for it. Again, good PC for the price!

This is a solid laptop for the price. I’ve been able to connect to my work computer during the COVID outbreak and that was my main goal.
It’s slow, but it works. Don’t let me knock this computer too much, it’s a great value for the price, but If speed and efficiency are keys, it’s not the one for you.

It a good working laptop. I really needed one right away and the price was good. But the new one was sold out. So I bought a open box in excellent condition according to Bestbuy. When I got the laptop and turned it on had issue with operating system to load. Friend of mine who works on computer fixed it for me. He said Windows was corrupted Andy reinstall it. Good laptop not sure if I would trust BestBuy for another open box item. I thought they were supposed to check it before selling it.

I needed to replace an aging Lenovo that decided out of the blue after around 5 years to stop working in the display. This was missing the optical drive that my old Lenovo had, and it's missing the One Key Optimizer program that I depended on for keeping my battery calibrated properly. It also is missing the ability to keep the touch pad off when I have a mouse hooked up into the machine. These are minor flaws, but that's it.
I could not believe how lightweight and thin it was to carry, as I move it around the house quite frequently. There are things that I'm trying to figure out with this, but it does seem to be similar in many ways to my old one. If it's just for everyday use, and not for extreme gaming, then this is the machine to get.

The laptop is a good laptop I would definitely recommend it. It has good speed and storage, the only knock I have on the laptop is the fact that it lacks battery. The battery only last 5 hours so if you’re going to need to use it more then five hours be near an outlet.

I needed a slim laptop for when I travel, mostly to deal with photos I take and upload while traveling. I had a Lenovo laptop for work and like how reliable they are. This one doesn't come with much software, which is a plus and a minus. I like not having all the free space taken up with applications or programs I really don't need or want. Since I do more in the cloud, it is not a problem for me. I like that it has a 1TB hard drive--my hobby is photography. It also has ample USB ports and an SD card slot--very helpful. The only issue I have with this laptop is that it is a little on the slow side. But it is replacing a very small tablet computer, so that isn't an issue for me. I may get the RAM upgraded later on.

Please let me warn you that unit has not cdrom/DVD drive and I did not notice this but please don't dispair, you can purchase a very good USB external drive for about $30.00. All in all it is a great unit. I will begin upgrading it in March to an SSD harddrive, USB CD/DVD drive and a USB sound card. Even with those upgrades I could not buy the equivalent unit for under $800.00. A great unit at a great price and still have money left over to upgrade. AWESOME!!!
