Great home-use laptop let down by a glitchy mouse

Works great for what I need it for, mainly web browsing and helping my nephews with school projects. Screen quality is above average for streaming Hulu and Netflix. The biggest issue I have with it is the mouse touch controls work intermittently. It will freeze for minutes on end, or even longer. I have a wireless mouse that I use now, but if I want to use it in bed or on the couch, this negates that wireless mouse. Still, I would purchase this again. Great value, just needs a better touch pad.

After a while of using it, my sister absolutely adores it! The camera is great. The audio is great. It's lightweight. She's able to download games from Steam and have more than enough room for classwork. You have to download Google Chrome, but that's the only pain in the butt I had setting this up! If your child is not 13, they will need adult permission to have any download that is considered 'adult'.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop, model number 81N3009BUS, ships with a 300p webcam and microphone built in. There are stereo 1.5W system speakers. This laptop weighs 4.07 lbs. and measures a total of 14.26 x 9.90 x 0.78 inches. This is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD A6-9225 processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 2.6GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.0GHz. This configuration has 4GB of RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. You get what you pay for. I was expecting a little more, still. Keyboard feels cheap, like it may break with extensive use. There’s a lot of flex on the frame keeping the keys in place. Resolution looks subpar, I’m so used to my 5 year old HP laptop that I expected the same quality screen resolution. I can see the pixels quite easily, even without my glasses. For being a brand new lap top, it is quite slow. Again, my 5 year old HP runs faster when working on the Internet. I am able to forgive all of the above, but what truly earned this laptop a 3 Star rating was the poor battery life. I believe it touts a 2-2.5 hour battery life. I barely get 1 hour and I have it set to the battery saving mode. I mainly got this for my 6 year old son to do his school work and to meet with his teacher using the camera. It meets his minimum needs.

It was an awesome computer to begin with when I first got it started up. Then there were Microsoft updates galore and now it's slowing the computer down a lot (for a 1TB computer) and it's lagging. Oh not to mention the stupid McAfee software that I can't remove from the computer and keeps popping up every hour or so. It's annoying. McAfee is a horrible brand and doesn't protect a computer like it claims. I've had enough dealings with that software that I no longer even choose to use it. So yeah be prepared to deal w/ the McAfee software constantly wanting to download but can't and therefore it'll constantly pop up. And lastly but probably not least is the keys on the keyboard. They seem extremely loose. It's a bit annoying b/c I'm an extremely fast typer so it actually annoys me that they seem so loose. Lenovo you have some work to do.

I got this for my kids for school work since they will be doing google classroom . With this being a edge Microsoft you can not down load chrome which I need for class room .{got because it has a web cam} It says it would delete S mode and you can not get that back. So with out that I notice that the meets are not in her classroom . I'm going to have to buy a web cam so she can use the desk top computer, One good thing is it has a full key board with cap and shift unlike the books

Bought this laptop as a backup computer with both my wife and myself working from home. It works very good and my wife has dedicated her primary computer to her work needs and has started to use this one for all her other computer needs. With working home being a necessity during Covid confinement it is nice to have an inexpensive backup computer that does the job.

Once again, thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop. You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. If you ever need additional help with your Lenovo computer, we recommend you call Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686 for additional help. Lenovo

This is Windows S version, which limits what you can download to what you find in the Microsoft store. I bought it specifically to run a work application, which the store doesn't have and this windows version doesn't support. There's an option to switch to regular windows, which I did because I need the device for one reason only. It runs SO SLOWLY that I just want to scream!!!!! I would recommend this for someone who just wants to surf the web -- a new user or for a kid. It's a great value for what it is.

I purchased this laptop because of the hard drive space and cost. I did not expect it to be so slow, but I guess that's what I get for not really thinking about the 4GB memory. It takes a long time to even wake up from sleep mode to allow to me to enter my PIN to log in. When it finally does, it takes a long time for anything to open or load. Actually considering returning it and buying something faster, even if I have to sacrifice hard drive space. There are other options for file storage.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop in less than 40-seconds - It will wake from sleep mode in less than 15-seconds. If you are experiencing slower performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

WORST computer I've ever bought. Purchased it to use for light work. It takes 20 minutes to a half hour for it to start all the programs after just logging in and I close out and it still opens and says error. Then trying to get to the internet takes another 20 minutes to open. And there's always problems with this thing. I still have the computer set up how it was the day I bought it. The only thing I've added in was a team's messenger and a app for work. And if you'd like to stay stuck to a outlet, id recommend this then. It hardly lasts for 2 hours on a full charge.

I waited for this laptop go on sale (even though the regular price was good), and when it did, I bought it. It has a lot of add ons that, in my opinion, aren't necessary (but I have a heavy technical background). The only thing I would say negative about this is I probably will never purchase another PC/laptop with the AMD processor. Intel is much faster. But, it's perfect for the purpose I purchased it for.

If your a parent needing a laptop for social distance learning for a good price look no further! Has the specs to even keep college classes up to par. I used it for AutoCAD (used a hardline attached mouse) and it did well so purchased them for my kids. The touch pad takes a little getting use to but a great buy.
