I bought this for my second grader for his digital learning because our Mac doesn’t play well with some of his online lessons. This PC is super slow, 4G is not nearly enough to do the bare minimum. Takes a while to boot up, loading the MS 365 was a nightmare and overly cumbersome . It crashed a couple of times just surfing! I’d say its not worth the frustration regardless of price, so invest another couple hundred for a better faster machine.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop, model number 81N3009BUS, will boot from off to the Windows 10 Desktop in less than 20-seconds. If you are experiencing slower boot times, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

I purchased this in a work-from-home panic. It was easy to get started and I have had no trouble using gotomypc, zoom meetings, outlook, and shopping for Clorox wipes. It’s not the fastest ever but at this price point it seems like a decent buy.

For the price, this is a decent computer. I am still learning my way around the system so I am not really able to give the best review. I did not like the computer being in "S" mode because I was not able to add the apps I needed until I took it out of that mode. It is vey slow and I will need to add additional memory. Also, I thought I was buying a new computer but it's not; someone else's information was prefilled whenever I went to enter my name. I deleted the other person's information out of the computer.

Nice computer for writing and work. I was glad to find something with this much space for such a good price. I purchased the open-box version, and I suspect it's why the computer doesn't hold a battery charge as long as it should if it was completely new. Other than that, I love it.

I bought this Lenovo to pick up email and surf internet. It started off fine- average speed, good display, nothing fancy. After 4 month, it seemed to slow considerably at start up and when moving through internet or from a document to internet. It’s painfully slow and when I need yo use it I have to budget time for start up and navigating to email or whatever. I keep my phone handy in case the Lenovo is too slow.

Very basic machine. Even after removing all the bloatware and using Glary Utilities to clean up, still a clunker. Ended up adding a SSD drive to improve performance, even then marginal. Spend the extra money and get at least 8GB of ram with a higher end systems. Just can't imagine in this technology stage a machine would perform this poorly.

I purchased this in a hurry at the beginning of COVID so I would have a functioning laptop for my work from home days. I assumed it would be good for your basic needs however it runs very slow and it’s frustrating. I’m not that great with understanding all the technology so maybe there was information that would have alerted me to how slow it is. I would not purchase this again and once I upgrade I’ll use this for remote learning for my kids.

The keyboard has it’s own separate number keypad on the right hand side that makes it very convenient and easier for entering numerical data. Even though it has a 1 Terabyte hard drive, the laptop runs slow and freezes frequently without much downloaded or in use.

After understanding that Windows 10 S is meant for people who have a specific use in mind, I quickly chose to go with the regular Windows 10. The computer looks and feels great. There are some programmes running in the background that slow the whole system down, but that's operations, not the computer.
I do wish the DVD player/writer was still an option, but the One terabyte memory makes up for it. I have access to an external player. Three USB ports so close together is an issue when many plugs are wide. I have a four port USB extension that gives me more room. The camera works well. I started using it for video uploads. I haven't tested the microphone, since I use an external one. Speaker have great sound without distortion.
In all, a really great buy. The external devices I use came in handy, but not totally necessary.

This computer runs very slow because of the 4gb RAM. YOU WOULD THINK THE 1 TB of space would compensate for this fault, but you can barely stand to save that much data because everything takes so long. I didn’t care fo the speakers being underneath the computer, the amount of time it took to power on or the screen or camera quality I sent it back after about two weeks because I had a project due and just increased my budget for something faster and better design.
