It is okay. But, the processor is not very fast. There is some lag when switching between things. It is not horrible. Build quality is actually very good. But, it is not the smoothest operating. Okay for the price. I also easily got it out of S mode to install Google Chrome and other apps.

Barely usable with 4GB ram

Literally would lag just opening a program prior to the added RAM. I understand this is a budget laptop, but performance out of the box was terrible for even basic schoolwork or web browsing.

It is now a backup, just in case. This new Lenovo Laptop is so much faster and all it needs is a charge when you open the box. I am not a techie so I appreciate how Lenovo and Microsoft made it so quick and easy to set-up and get all my files transferred over to this one. I really couldn't be happier with this Laptop, and plan to use it for another 8 years. I'm even happy with the price!

So far the computer seems to be a good purchase. Has one issue in that it randomly changes the zoom on pages. It may be something we're bumping or it may be the computer. We're still trying to figure that out. Otherwise, the computer itself is nice and light, reasonably fast, and great for our purposes. But the way it was sent was a big disappointment and reduced my rating. Computer 4*, open box 1*. This was an open box product advertised as in excellent condition. The computer came wrapped in bubble wrap in a shipping box for a different item. It did not include the original box and had no paperwork at all--not even a quick start guide or invoice! I had to call Geek Squad for setup, as I did not have the essential information to set it up. There were 2 items in the box--the computer itself and the plug. We're not even sure what all SHOULD have been included. Did we get everything we should have or not? If this was representative of open box in excellent condition, I really would not trust or recommend buying anything in an open box again. Best Buy should have done better on this. The way it was shipped was very disappointing.

Posted .Regarding the screen on the Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop, model number 81N3009BUS automatically zooming in, since the IdeaPad S145-15 does not have a touchscreen, most likely the user is inadvertently coming in contact with the touchpad. Adjust the sensitivity of the touchpad.
You can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Lightweight In Every Way

It seemed to have all the features and characteristics to be a perfect starter laptop. Sadly, I have been disappointed. Memory cards are slow and don't manage multiple simultaneous projects well, the WiFi has been wonky, and the light weight turns out to be too light.

A L L of my programs have to be run off an external hard drive. Why? Because this thing is S L O W if I run Firefox and a word program at once. Want to watch YouTube while your write? No. It's going to chug. I'm constantly rebooting and updating and troubleshooting this thing and its v e r y frustrating. Needed a new machine because, as I mentioned above, my HP laptop was pushing ten years old and finally going senile. This new computer is just as slow... Only two of the three usb ports work. Settings never save. I disabled a programs ability to automatically start several times and it still does. I also disabled the need for a password and YET it STILL DEMANDS ONE! Biggest let down for being brand new...

This computer can continue running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". Its the OS that drags down the laptop

To get around this issue, switch off Windows S mode. S mode slows your laptop down alot. Its not that the laptop isn't good, its Windows 10 S that slows the proformance down.

Its easy enough for them to use to stream videos however I was a little disappointed with the camera (which is necessary for Zoom meetings). I ended up attaching a Webcam to get better quality. Overall, decent for the kids at this price.
