Very Poor Screen viewing Angle - Great Keyboard

It had come in a box with the seal of the better IPS model pasted over the seal of a model with a non-IPS screen. I'd call that a cheat. This Lenovo screen was touted to be a true HD IPS so I bought it expecting it to have something close to 180 degrees of viewing angle up and down. But it is even worse, with about 5 degrees of tolerable off-axis viewing. And whites come through as silver. It also shows that the WiFi signal is medium strength three feet from my router and skips continually on Zoom sessions. I have to wonder if it might be another counterfeit. I got it in the middle of a bad shutdown period and unfortunately didn't return it when I could have. Best Buy won't take it back this late so I have since given it away to a non-profit.

This will be used solely for school work. We didn't want a lot of bells or whistles. Technically, this should work. And since it won't be getting jammed in a backpack and bent (no need for a backpack when doing "distance learning"), it has a leg up on the old Lenovo it replaced.

I've owned ThinkPads over the years and believe that this Chromebook exhibits the same high build quality as my previous IBM and Lenovo laptops. This unit's screen is bright and high-resolution and the keyboard feels great. I'm very happy with my purchase. And ChromeOS is cool, too.

Took me a bit to explain the difference between this and his old laptop. Personally I like it a lot. Especially the back-lit keyboard. We use the "educational" version of it at work. He hates it. Can't get the hang of it haha. I'd still recommend it.

I bought this during the covid school shutdowns. It has good specs along with a responsive touch screen. My kid uses it for his school's distant learning and for browsing the web. We have no complaints.

Its very light and compact while having a great size screen. I have not had any issues with it yet. The light-up keyboard is excellent I can now type in the dark if I choose. I'm very happy with it.
