I'm an engineering student and wanted the surface book which was way to expensive. I've been looking around for something similar with a pen to write out notes and decently light. This fit the bill also had the graphics card. Writing with the pen is a little bit slippery on the screen so kind of wish there was a change of tips for it maybe some Velcro on the tip to ad some resistance. The pen and laptop combination with onenote make taking notes fun almost. I've played league of legends and it runs flawlessly forget the fps but it's not that graphics intense game may try assassins creed or something just to test the card out. She runs a little warm doing mediocre tasks in the lap at least nothing to bad tho. I personally think this is pretty comparable to the surface book specs wise it totally is just no detachable screen so a little bit of a flaw, I don't see the surface really being used with out the keyboard attached so it's exactly the same in that case. The bad that I've found is driver fail for the intel graphics for skylake is a known issue haven't looked for an update or anything if it's fixed yet. It gets smudgy the back cover and where you rest your hands, the mouse comes inverted but that's a simple fix. Windows 10 pre-installed but I don't think windows 7 would be a good option with touch based anyway getting used to 10 so not big deal other than i hate that every companies getting into our information (no choice there other than tails os really / a linux os). Not sure if best buy lets you update these so if anything changes I'll try to update it.

    Great Laptop

This laptop is exactly what I was looking for. I originally purchased the Lenovo Yoga 700 but was unhappy with the typing experience and I noticed that the unit had warped with normal use. All of my laptops in the past have been ThinkPad's and I should've stuck with them. I purchased this laptop to replace the Yoga 700 and what a night and day difference. Build quality is top notch, battery life is great. The keyboard is fantastic. The only thing that I gripe about with ThinkPads is that the keyboards show wear rather quickly. I am hoping that this one does not. I usually do my best to keep it clean however they do last forever. My W520 still works great. It's a little heavier than the Yoga 700 but the trade off is well worth it. Much better typing experience than a Mac and the new Windows update adds more refinement. The Yoga also had display driver crashes here and there the ThinkPad does not. Possibly due to the dedicated graphics card. A great buy for the money.

Drove 20 minutes to look at & purchase for my son and an hour plus later I left the store. After getting home and taking it out of the packaging and started and uploaded the virus protection came to find out the touchscreen didn't work. 2nd Lenovo I purchased and returned both for major issues within 1-2 days. I will not buy another Lenovo.

The laptop stopped working in 3 month. Now, I have to ship it back to lenovo and wait for at least one week. I need to attend a conference next week, but unfortunately all my related documents are saved in the laptop which can not be used for a while. Have no idea how this happens. Very bad shopping experience.

    Great machine for the price!

    - The is an amazing 2-in-1 ultra book for the price! I was looking for a machine that could handle Matlab, Labview, CAD, simultaneously. So far this has been nothing but amazing. The build and performance qualities are excellent, love the keyboard and the pen, the system itself is packed and still can be upgraded in both memory and RAM. - So far I've been able to run CAD and Matlab, and still browse through webpages and write/ work on my documents flawlessly, without a lag or freezing up. This is absolutely a great product and I highly recommend for others who are serious about getting their job/ work done, esp. engineering or science grads. - If you're looking for a serious gaming laptop, this may not be the right one.

Works 4 me! Love the touchscreen! Would def recommend it! The only complaint is that the screen sometimes freezes or gets disabled for a sec or two. And the keyboard doesn't automatically pop up in tablet mode, but I'm sure that's setting thing. I def recommend buying an extended warranty protection if you can. Overall, it is the only laptop I found that has all that I'm looking for at a reasonable price, and I've been looking for a few months. Go for it!!

I just wrote a rather extensive review about this machine, but it turns out that I was just adding a comment to someone else's review. Guess I need to pay attention. Here's a brief review: I bought this machine two days ago more or less under duress. My old laptop died a horrible death and I am getting ready to take a trip. There was no time to get the old machine fixed. I walked into Best Buy thinking that I wanted to downsize to a 13 inch display (from my old 15 inch display), but they were too small. I settled on a 14 inch display and started comparing all of them in the store. This computer was clearly the best looking of all the displays. Several computers had identical specs, but this one actually looked better for some reason. Then, I started weeding out machines by looking for just the ones with solid state drives. This one has a 256GB SSD. I use a 256GB SSD on my desktop and have been successful at managing the small size, so I wasn't worried. Finally, I started comparing the heat output of the various machines simply by feeling the bottom sides for excessive heat. None of the machines in the store seemed significantly hotter than any others, so I didn't learn much from that. After comparing displays, processors, and the presence of an SSD, I finally had to go with - as I told my friends before I went to the store - the "pretty" one. This one had the best looking display. I spent yesterday getting the computer ready for the trip. I installed Photoshop, Lightroom, Corel Video Studio, and an open source word processor and spreadsheet.. And some odds and ends for remoting into my server and so on. In the end, I had around 160GB free on the SSD. Not bad.. There was very little bloatware. Most of the stuff I took off was simply because I had other software I preferred. The battery seems to be pretty good. I didn't pay close attention, but I used it for several hours and took it down to 50%. If there's a problem later I'll post a follow-up. The performance seems to be quite good. Keep in mind that I'm talking about a laptop, not a desktop, so performance expectations should be realistic. I'm not a gamer, but Photoshop, Lightroom, and Video Studio can be pretty demanding so I'll know more after this trip. My gut tells me that performance will not be an issue. So, again, I'll post a follow-up if this turns out to be a problem. Heat will not be an issue with this computer. It did get slightly warm, but that's as far as it went after quite a bit of work yesterday. It came with a stylus. I don't think it's going to be anything spectacular, but I don't plan to use it in that way. Also, keep in mind that I'm used to a high end Wacom tablet, so my expectations of what I should be able to do with a stylus are very high. Considering that I bought this machine under duress with no time to properly research the options, and factoring in that I won't be using it as a tablet as a general rule, I am very, very pleased with the purchase.

With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. lenovo

This is a great laptop. I was heavier than I had expected, however much lighter than what I have been using, so the weight is easy to overlook. The keyboard is absolutely fantastic! I am a student and I type a lot, and the feel and ease of this keyboard is one of my favorite options with this laptop. The WriteIt feature is neat as well, you can write or draw on any document or anything for that matter. This would come in handy if you worked in real estate or something that required signatures, no scanning, downloading, faxing and so, just sign the document and send it off. Pretty handy if you ask me. Now I have had a few glitches, one was the writeIt function stopped converting my handwriting into text and I factory reset my laptop and it works again. Another issue is certain websites or freeze up sometimes, I use Airbnb and it was happening with that. Also the first time I downloaded Office, my word program was not right but I uninstalled and reinstalled and it has been fine. After use my laptop will make a high pitch noise and I am not sure if this is a defect or not so I might return it for that reason, but I really do love this machine!

It's a Thinkpad. Solid feel, well built, top notch components. This Skylake version of the Thinkpad Yoga 14 series BestBuy carries, there are 4, is the one to get. I purchased the previous version and the resizing plus weight reduction is just enough to give it balance vs that bloated feel. The included SSD is a no brainer for picking over the older versions on clearance. I initially had issues with the ELAN touchpad but driver updates fixed this issue. If your having issues with the touchpad, uninstall the drivers and Windows 10 will download them again. Issue fixed. The Skylake processor is so new when this was released that updates are numerous and it keeps getting better. I installed Manga Studio 5.0, drawing software, and the included pen works perfectly. Very happy with this purchase. This appears to be an interim step in the yoga 14 before the Lenovo 460 is released. It may be a middle of the road 460 which is due out late 2015 / early 2016. The specs for the 460 are so close to the BestBuy Skylake yoga 14 I saw no reason to wait.

We are sorry to hear that your Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 2-14 is running slow. This system should be a fast performer with its Intel Core I-5 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB solid state hard drive. When it comes to graphics processing, this system has the NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics card with 2GB of dedicated RAM on the GPU. The reason for the slow performance then, has to be software based. Check to be sure that there are not programs running in the background. If you installed virus protection software, be sure Windows Defender is turned off and the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus software package on the device. Finally, there may be driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. Just type "restore point" in the search window within Cortana and follow the link to create a restore point.
