I am glad to pull this trigger at the last minute. I was able to get this at $650. Turned out this was a one day deal only. Even better, I only paid for taxes only since I was able to redeem from credit card points and use them to purchase this.
This laptop is basically all you can imagine and asking for. Small size, thin, high quality LED, pack with the most powerful processor to date, fast SSD storage, great graphics with gaming/ rendering capability, include digital pen for artistic tasks, and 2 in one modes if you prefer tablet at some occasion, one of the best keyboard/touchpad ever made and the ability to upgrade to higher capacity with 16gb Ram and M.2 SSD. It might too big for some people especially in tablet mode but for me anything smaller than 14" will be too small.

I'm very happy with my purchase and overall customer experience. Thanks Lee!

Really enjoying this. I've had several ThinkPad Yoga's in the past and this is bar far the best. I'd recommend this to anyone who is looking for a laptop convertible with a great digital stylus experience and dedicated graphics card at a great price. Plus its easy to upgrade both the hard drive and RAM on this.

Great Keyboard

The laptop is definitely a bit heavy for the ultrabook label. Regardless it has one of the greatest keyboards I have ever tried. The battery life averages about 8.5 hours of moderate use with normal streaming and internet surfing. It stays cool under moderate use but when gaming it does get a bit warm. The pen is a plus and it is useful when taking notes in class. Overall, this is better than most laptops I have tried in the past and meets all my needs. Discrete graphics is also a plus when I want to play some games. For the price, I am more than satisfied.

Super--If I could get a good one

I purchased and then had to return two of these. I really like this machine, but the first one I purchased wouldn't charge the active stylus and could not read one of my USB drives when it was plugged in to the combo USB/Charger port on the left side of the machine. The second machine charged the stylus just fine, but it had a light leak on the monitor and it also had the same problem with the USB drive. Interestingly enough, "both" machines "always" read the drive just fine "IF" it was plugged into either of the two USB ports on the right side of the machine. I can only guess it has something to do with the left port also being a charging port.
NOTE: This is a USB drive that I can read and write to without any trouble at all in any USB port (2.0 or 3.0) on four other computers.

This laptop is very fast and well built. Initially, I had some trouble installing win10 anniversary when it got stuck on boot screen. I am now running anniversary but the pen does not seem to work or be recognized. Keyboard very nice. Screen a little dull. Battery lasts me about 6 hours. All in all a very nice laptop if I can get the pen working.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 2-14. Obviously, the change in operating system has affected the pen driver. There are a couple of solutions you can try, return to a restore point prior to the change in operating system (go back to original Windows 10 operating system, then just uninstall the programs you don't want from the original operating system). Secondly, you can look for driver updates for the Wacom pen on the Wacom web site or thirdly, there may be driver updates at Lenovo.com for the pen. This is less likely, since our driver will be compatible with the operating system we installed, but you can try. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes. Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga is a Winner
Posted .

First of all I have been a Dell person for a long time but I started to give Lenovo a try. Boy, I am glad I did. This Lenovo Thinkpad Yoga is a winner. It is quick, smooth, solid and the screen is bright and clean. The keyboard is world class, solid key strokes. One of the cool features is when you use it as a tablet the keys sink back into the laptop so you don't hit them and break them. It has a rechargeable pen that is the best pen I have used. The laptop charges the pen when not being used. If you are looking for a great laptop the Thinkpad Yoga 2 is great. I would recommend this laptop to anyone. Keep up the good job Lenovo! :)
*Note: The only con I see in this laptop is it attracts figure prints. This is a very small issue compared to all of the +'s of this laptop! I would still recommend!

Love this computer - but didn't come with the pen

I was in need of a new laptop. Wanted something lightweight and durable. First bought the Surface Pro 3. It had issues the first week I had it, Best Buy quickly replaced it. I kept the new one for a few days and just did not like the keyboard, felt it was hard to use while having it on my lap. So returned it and got this Thinkpad. Love it, however I realized that I did not ever receive the downloads that were complimentary or the pen. Called Best Buy and they are supposed to email me the complimentary downloads, but said I would have to take the computer back to the store and return it for a new one that has the pen in it. I explained that I prefer not to do that, as it would be my 4th trip to the store for a computer and my 3rd time of starting over setting up my device and my information saved on it. The answer was disappointing, as they said they just couldn't do it any other way. So perhaps someone at Best Buy is reading this and will show you actually care about customer service and will contact me to let me know the pen will be mailed. If so, I will change my review to a 5 as it is a great computer....just disappointed with the hassle of actually receiving everything that it was supposed to come with.

I am a former Mac-bot. I am sick to death with them. I love their products but the brand and product isolation has really left a bad taste. I am super pleased with this purchase. The customer/ store rep was helpful in pointing out what I needed. He told me that a lot of programmers use this or are issued this laptop for its workhorse ability. I know this is true b/c a few friends at JPL use the same. I was sold on the writing tab function. I like to write notes in meetings. I also use this for graphics (Adobe) so sketching was an important feature. Functionally, I don't create files any larger than 20 MB and it's working awesome. Zero noise. Good feel on the hands. I have above-average sized hands and the keyboard feels custom, and the heels of my palms are well-supported when typing long emails. Awesome graphics and display. Great for movie watching on the plane. I'm by no means an expert on the guts of these things, but I highly recommend this laptop. Buy it now, during the holidays and you have 3 months to return it if you don't like it, and you can finance it for 18-months with zero interest.

Great for students/light gamers

Purchased for college with the goal to buy a laptop that could also handle some light gaming. This machine works very well, handling several games on max settings (Rocket League, DoD) and multitasking like a king. The folding feature is nice when switching to tablet mode just to play some light games of solitaire. Backlit keyboard and build is nice, and I haven't had any problems after owning it for the last few weeks. Touch screen is responsive and the stylus is useful for taking notes or drawing diagrams on the laptop. If you're worried about memory space, just realize 256 ssd is more than you think, and you can always invest in a portable hard drive to gain more space. Only thing I could ask for is an ethernet port, but otherwise this laptop is perfect for the price.

Great Laptop for the Price...however

I bought this laptop yesterday. After reading all the positive reviews on here, I was excited to test this laptop on my own. This laptop looks great, the battery life is decent and the ThinkPad pen is pretty good too.
However, I noticed that the laptop went to sleep with the slightest movement of the screen. So, every time I tried to switch to tablet mode/tent mode, the laptop would go to sleep which was pretty annoying. I thought I was accidentally pressing the power button but that was not the case. It seems that the close lid sensors are falsely triggering when I move the screen. I researched some and found that the Thinkpad S3 Yoga 14 had a similar problem. I plan to replace this with a another one tomorrow, hoping this problem was limited to a particular batch.

So Far, So Good

I've had this computer for about a week and I got it to replace my mid-2012 Macbook Air 11 inch. That computer was good but I couldn't justify buying another Macbook at the price on a law student's budget. I got this one after reading several reviews. I like the Thinkpad models after owning one several years ago. The computer is built well and the 2-in-1 feature is fantastic. The pen works better than any that I've ever seen, including the surface. I think the 14 inch is the perfect size and the weight is good for the size of the computer. Hopefully, this continues to go well.

So i will preface this by saying that I had been shopping around for a new laptop for quite some time that will suit my needs as 1) a college student majoring in geography that uses extensive mapping software that needs a ton of processing power and 2) someone who on occasion will play a game or two.
So in my quest for the best laptop to suit my needs I was draw towards Lenovo, and the thinkpad line specifically, because I love the keyboard. It has a great feel and is the best I have ever used on a laptop. Being in college I have a ton of writing to do so a comfortable keyboard make my life less miserable. The second draw factor is the more rugged nature of the lenovo thinkpad line. They are designed to survive some abuse, and I have seen it first hand during my time in the Marine Corps. Dropped, dirty, and all around beaten up, they keep on going strong. (This is from my personal experience on 2 deployments and is no way claiming that it is uniform across everyone) and finally, you can open up the back easily to expand the memory and HD space. Big pluses when you consider the pace at which technology changes.
Some features that I like, and specifically bought through best buy for.
-dedicated graphics card
-if you purchase one through lenovo it isnt an option. With it I can play games like skyrim (not the new special edition) and borderlands 2. Though these are both set to lower settings to preserve frame rate, it doesn't bother me because it still beats the Sega Genesis that I grew up on. Additionally, it handles the mapping programs (ArcGIS and others) I use really well and the dedicated graphics card definitely speeds up draw times. It is a great option for me when I am out and about and away from one of the dedicated machines for the geography department, and is also sometimes faster than they are. I can get work done when I have some time and then transfer my date to the PCs at school making the hours sitting in a room alone no longer a necessity (making my wife happy too as I am home more).
-Pen Support / Integrated pen
-I wasn't sure how much I would use it but now I take all my notes for class on it. It beats carrying 6 different notebooks around. Not a best buy exclusive, but I still like it.
I have read some reviews where they complain about screen brightness but I personally think it is bright enough and it is super crisp. I love it.
Overall, I would recommend this laptop to anyone who needs a good dependable (and professional looking) laptop and is interested in light gaming. It is great for school and for what I need and the dedicated graphics (though on the low end of the power spectrum) is good enough for me and better than you can get through the lenovo website.

Wacom screen and pen! Great for drawing!

I find it so odd that best buy doesn't talk about the awesome included pen and built-in screen that uses Wacom tech. They don't even show a picture of the the pen on this website nor write about it on the features section. So thats all I'm going to write about. Well, Lenovo partnered up with Wacom to make a laptop that is great for drawing. It has pressure sensitivity of over 2000 levels and is completely palm friendly when the pen is in use. There is no eraser end like they have for other Wacom pens which is kind of a bummer but it does have two programmable buttons. As far as I can tell, the only tips (nibs) you can get for the pen are plastic, which gives you no friction unlike the rubber nibs they have available with other pen. I really like this computer. It has a beautiful display and excellent sound better than most out there. I love the lighted keyboard and how it looks with the silver around the touch pad and the computer itself, very smart. As well enjoy the keyboard with it's touch and spacing. Like that it has a 2 gb video card for gaming though I am not a gamer. The biggest draw back is the shift key on the right side. They moved it and made it smaller so your pinky finger really has to reach and not intuitive if you are a touch typist. The other thing is the weight for it is 3.8 lbs much heavier than many out there today. But I like the weight for it makes the laptop feel just a little bit stronger and sturdier. And love that you can flip it for viewing a movie or to show others from some presentations. I happened to buy it at one of the membership stores and got it at a much better price. But great laptop that you can be proud of.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 2-14. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.
