I spent over a thousand dollars on this laptop by the time that you include taxes and I don’t expect much out of it. The camera quality is poor to say the least, it uses your fingerprint to unlock but it never works on the first try, I always have to do it at least three times if not more, it sometimes would overheat but at the end of the day it was a decent computer that worked and did what I needed it to. However, Friday night it popped up and said that it needed to do some update I didn’t really read it because it comes up all the time that it needs to update so I just clicked it and told it to restart to update now and ever since then it has not worked and now I’m in the middle of the semester for college and my laptop is 100% unusable. I turn it on, unlock it, and it seems fine and then it will freeze, make a loud vibrating sounding noise (I can no longer take it to class because of this), sometimes the screen turns black then blue and sometimes it just turns blue and says “your device ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some error info, and then we’ll restart for you” and so then it restarts but it doesn’t fix it the same thing happens over and over and over until I just finally get tired of dealing with it and just turn it off. This is so frustrating because I don’t have a car and I have exhausted every option I have besides taking it in to get repaired. I have videos of the vibrating noise and what it does when the screen pops up.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga laptop, model number 20VK001QUS. If this rollback of the update is not successful, or for some reason the rollback will not happen, now try to restore your computer back to its original factory settings. Sporadically won’t turn on. It works then it gives CMOS errors. Once you clear the errors it won’t turn on. Several hard starts and reboots it will finally turn on. Again, it works for a bit then it says “update and shut down” and the whole process starts over. This has happened since day 1 of purchase. Thought it was just taking updates and would work out but it’s consistently a bad experience. I will never purchase another Lenova.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga, model number 20VK001QUS. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support for Think Products at: 877-453-6686.

Had this for a few days. So far it's been good. I love the touch screen and ability to turn it into a tablet. The stylus makes it even easier to browse and read in tablet mode. The keyboard is excellent. Performance has been snappy, no hiccups there. Build quality is a big plus, too. Feels solid like you'd want out of a $1k piece of tech. Awesome selection of ports, huge upgrade over a lot of new laptops that expect you to carry around a bag full of docks and dongles.
Some things are just okay. Screen isn't going to blow you away. Would've loved a little more wow factor there considering the price, but you're buying this laptop for productivity not media consumption. Speakers work fine for watching informational videos and voice. Not going to give you the best movie or music audio experience.
A few things I don't love. The battery life isn't very impressive. I think using the touch screen feature as I do drains it more quickly... But I do notice it drop down from full charge to around 60% on 2-3 hours of usage which is about what others have experienced, so no big surprise but I wish it were a bit better. Sometimes batteries have a break-in period so it may get a little bit better over time I suppose. If I have chrome tabs open when I close the top and put it to sleep, they are blank tabs when I wake up the computer and take about 15 seconds to load back up. Not sure if that's on the laptop itself or something that needs to be worked out with Windows 11. And the response time using the touch screen is a little laggy. By that I mean, if you are using the touch screen then don't touch the screen for a brief time, when you go back to touching to scroll down a page for instance, it takes a second to realize you're using the touch screen again and won't register the touch right away. If you're using the touch screen all the time it works right away so I'm assuming this might be some kind of battery saving feature. I'll have to try it in performance mode to see if that solves the issue (I normally use it in better battery mode). Using the stylus works perfectly right away every time so that's one way to mitigate the issue if it bothers you. But I wish that it would recognize when it's folded in a tablet-like setup and be ready to register a touch input at all times.
Overall I would recommend it for portable productivity, just know what you're getting into and there are a few compromises. Time will tell how well it holds up over the long run but I feel like it's going to age well.

Great Work Machine with two caveats

Great work laptop for me, with a moderate drawback.
I work in healthcare, use this for my EMR during the day, as well as emails, and light web surfing, videos. Light background music. It is great for this use. Given COVID related issues, the fingerprint reader is a wonderful way to log in. The built in stylus is helpful for people who are visual learners.
Well built, and has survived falls without issue. Can be sanitized without issues (going on now for 3-4 months). The two in one aspect works fairly well.
Downsides are two: first and least, heat dissipation. It gets warm on my lap. Not too warm, but noticeable. The second, is battery life. I'm averaging around 4-5 hours of screen on time, with battery saving. Granted this is with several programs open. The saving grace is the rapid charge. I can easily get back to 80-95% total charge over my 30-40 min lunch break.
Overall, it is a fantastic machine, that works well for my current use. I would think for anything less GPU or CPU intensive it works well. Great value at $640.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga, model number 20VK001QUS. System heat varies with the workload the computer is under. Try using a Power Management setting that is more conservative. You can get to your Power Management settings by: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-adjust-power-and-sleep-settings-26f623b5-4fcc-4194-863d-b824e5ea7679#:~:text=To%20adjust%20power%20and%20sleep%20settings%20in%20Windows%2010%2C%20go,re%20not%20using%20your%20device. With regard to the ThinkPad L13 Yoga's battery life, this model ships with a 4 Cell, 46Wh, Lithium Polymer Battery, which within this configuration, has a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery conservation Mode is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-percent of capacity. Here is a link to instructions for turning off Battery Conservation Mode: https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/solutions/ht103159. Also check what programs are running in the background on the computer. Be sure only the programs you want running in the background are. These programs will drain the battery. Here is a link to information about how to find out what programs are running in the background on your Windows 10 computer and how to manage them for better system performance: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-prevent-apps-running-background-windows-10. Then, finally, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. Incompatible software will drain the battery at a faster rate. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. The build quality is excellent, as is the display. Performance is solid as well, however some reviews have incorrectly stated that the RAM is upgradable. It is not, however the SSD is, which is what those reviews likely meant. This laptop has excellent Linux support as well, and installing my preferred distro was no issue. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a durable, reliable laptop with plenty of ports and that's lightweight. The only downside is the touch screen, and this is a personal preference — I'd strongly have liked a matte, non-touch option to reduce glare. I bought the first gen model and gave it to my mother last year, and after playing with it a little while prior, I liked it enough that this year's second-gen model was an easy buy for me.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo ThinkPad L13 Yoga model number 20VK001QUS. You are correct when you point out that the RAM within this configuration is not upgradeable. This model ships with 8GB DDR4-3200MHz RAM, which is the maximum for this configuration. This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. This model ships with a 13.3 Inch (screen size measured diagonally) IPS Anti-Reflection Anti-Smudge touchscreen, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (FHD) and a brightness level of 300 nits. We are pleased to hear that the ThinkPad L13 Yoga is working out so well for you.

Great, Versatile Work Alternative

Overall, I would rate this Lenovo model at a 4.7.
As a disclaimer, I don't do gaming and will be using this as a recreational / work alternative. That said, the 8 GB RAM and i5 intel processor is plenty sufficient for me.
I have only had it for a week so I haven't fully broken it in to determine if there are any shortfalls. Here are my initial thoughts:
Pros:
- Amazing keyboard. After going back and forth from my old Surface 3 to my Dell Work laptop, this keyboard definitely shines above.
- Included rechargeable stylus. I'm not one to really use a stylus but as I am taking work related classes, I can see how it can be used for easy mark-ups or highlighting. The draw to text is cool as you can use it in place of typing if you really wanted to.
- Great Convertibility. Obviously as a 2-in-1, you wouldn't expect anything different. However after going from a small (but lighter) Surface 3 to this, i can see the difference. Tablet mode for reading articles, papers or anything is much better than the standard laptop method. I assume this feature would be helpful for big readers.
- Overall durability. As a military service member, I appreciate the durability of any tech I own. As you may know, this Lenovo series goes through many durability tests which make it great for workers on the go or those who have to transport their laptops in very hot and cool environments. Although I haven't tested it, the spill resistant keyboard is a big plus.
Cons.
- Idle RAM usage. For some reason, my background processes consume about 30-40% of my memory. It hasn't resulted in any issues and I will continue to work with it as there are some user fixes. However, it surprised my as it basically leaves me 4-5 GB not utilized. This may ne a non-issue though but did want to bring it up as a note.
- Battery life is just ok. Other models have better battery life and I can attest that this model doesn't win any awards. However, it's not a big issue. I think most professional reviews put this at 6-7 hours with mixed use.
Other notes:
- Loud fan noise and overheating has been a complaint by some. My model was a bit loud at first but after all the initial updates, it hasn't been an issue since. Of course there will be some fan noise with heavy use but it's not all that bad.
For professional reviews, I would recommend MobileTechReview on YouTube. They review the GEN 1 version of this model but a lot of the data is consistent. For the price, I think it was a great option. I would definitely recommend this for students or as an alternative, mobile work computer.

Laptop was of great value at this price point. I really wanted to keep it but in the end I returned.
Here is why: My main motivation was to use this laptop as whiteboard for collaboration. I installed Microsoft whiteboard and shared over online meetings and it worked fine 98% of the time. But sometime input jumps and whiteboard becomes useless. I re-imaged, upgraded bios and driver software. It still wasn’t 100%.
Using finger didn’t have any issue.
Otherwise laptop was well built machine. I will wait for Lenovo/Microsoft to update the experience. Till then I will use old iPad.

Needed a replacement for an aged VIAO laptop. I wanted something that didn't weigh as much and would function as a tablet when I just want to surf the internet or stream content to my entertainment system. I use a ThinkPad for my job and it has been a workhorse for 5 years so that factored into my decision.
This ThinkPad checked all the boxes. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but one of the options I was looking at was a iPad Pro 13 inch which was a lot more.
My only complaints are nits... the screen size is just a little too small. When I'm on the NYTCX site I have to scroll too much. Not a fault of the laptop... didn't know this until I started to use it.
Other nit is that the touch pad is too sensitive- it has a habit of deleting emails when I move my fingers over it without touching it. I've had this issue with other touchpads and usually I turn down the sensitivity. Haven't tried that yet.
Would I recommend this laptop? Yes, if you are looking for a portable Windows unit that has a combination of old and new ports.

So far Im very happy with this product from BestBuy. It looks like new and works very well. This laptop has the 11th gen core i5 CPU, 8GB ram and 256GB of storage. This laptop blazes through everything from surfing the web, typing documents and playing gaming from 2015 and older. My last laptop from Lenovo was the Lenovo Yoga 720 13 inch and it still works well. Im so glad I went with Lenovo again. They know how to make outstanding products. I stumbled upon this computer when I was looking for a secondary laptop away from my office. It ended up being so good that it now has become the standard-issue computer for my law firm. So far so good - couple of weeks to a month now. No problems, just what I expected. The pen takes some time to learn, and so does the touch pad. I'll get my preferred pointing device - mouse - someday. Seems to run a long time on the battery; I starts up quickly and I can use the USB devices at will. I still need to setup a wireless to get files between the laptop and my desktop. (laptop for collecting the data & desktop for processing it.)
Pros: Light weight, modern OS, decent prices and did I say light weight yet ?
Cons: Hmm, the pen and touchpad aren't what I'm used to. Yet. Also gotta find a monitor to use with it - these old eyes don't like a wee 13" screen (22 inches is my preferred size.)

I've only been using this computer for a week. It was easy to set up and works great so far. It is fast and easy to use. I'm enjoying having a track pointer though sometimes I can't find where the pointer is on the screen and have to use the trackpad to find it. In general, I find that the pointer is more efficient than the trackpad.
The function key on the keyboard is where I expect the control button to be, so I keep pressing that when I want to use shortcut keys.
