Looking for basic home operation, photos, and other functions this computer is great. The hybrid HDD makes boot/restart times fast. The touch screen and flip capability works well. Not having a disc drive has not been an issue this far. The track pad works well but could be improved. It can be finicky sometimes when using two hands to make selections. All in all, i have been impressed with the computer

I am not a tech person, but use computers on a daily basis at work and have the need for a good laptop at home to complete work while not at the office. I enjoy the use of a tablet for recreational use. This laptop is the best of both. It is fast, responsive, with a great keyboard and touchpad when using as a laptop. It is light enough to easily lay on your lap and use as a tablet (too heavy to hold up for long periods, but I never do that with my ipad). The presentation mode is faulous for laying in bed and having a tablet right there at your finger tips. The display is awesome for watching movies (I don't game, but imagine it would be amazing for that as well). I have had no complaints or regrets with this purchase.

I purchased this Hybrid laptop to replace my 7 year old gaming laptop. This Thinkpad gave me everything I wanted, touchscreen, great screen, decent hardware specs, active pen and good performance. The features like backlit keyboard, retractable keyboard and pen support, make this laptop great for gaming and graphic programs. While I cannot post benchmarks at this time, the Thinkpad has run everything I have thrown at it with no hiccups. Since this laptop has dedicated graphics card, the Thinkpad easily runs modern games at medium detail and older titles on high. I am using photo editing software and 3d CAD, runs smoothly. I would recommend this Hybrid laptop to anyone looking for great productivevity solution and decent gaming performance. The form factor of this laptop makes it easy to transport and use in a variety of positions/ environments.

This machine is a good choice for someone who needs great performance at a reasonable price. This is a better choice than the Surface Pro series because you can actually type while having the machine on your lap. The graphics card really helps in the 3D rendering I do as a hobby.

As a first time laptop buyer, this Lenovo is fabulous. It is quick and light and durable. The touchscreen is also surprisingly more convenient that I thought it would be. My main uses are: school work, Netfllix, and coding softwares. This system is incredible and I am very pleased.

Just started using the Lenovo Yoga 14 which is my very first laptop. It is a little involved to learn all the ins and outs for someone who is computer challenged but I think with time and practice it will most definitely do anything I might want to do. My biggest problem for me is to figure out where to put how many fingers on the pad ....... I love the clear picture and the fact that you can enlarge items by using the touch screen. It is somewhat heavy but I hope it will live up to its military specs when I roll it around in a rolling computer bag which I need due to medical problems.

This laptop is very fast. The mega pixels presents a great picture and video presentation. The functionality is great. Still getting use to windows 8.1. Love the touch screen capability.
The problem comes when the engine at times causes the screen to which back and forth from what your working on to start up screen. How frustrating to be in the middle of working on a project then all of sudden your at start up.

I had to choose between a desktop or a laptop, and chose the Lenovo Ultrabook Thinkpad with Intel i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz 2.39GHz, 8GB RAM, 64-bit Operating System and Windows 8.1. I am very happy with my choice, and glad I did not go with a desktop. The operation is fast and the screen is clear. I have some large programs that run smoothly without delays. I am thankful that it is not heavy and does not run hot. It has a good battery life. I have had several laptops over the years and this one is the best by far.

The 2 in one is easy to set up and having the touch screen option is awesome anytime. The keyboard locks out when the screen is flipped over as a tablet. The only dislike is that the touch pad is finicky.

I bought this after returning my 15" lenovo (forgot the name) as it had a recall. I am much more satisfied with this machine as it does the full flip. The graphics card does quite well for a laptop under $1000. It can run Star Trek Online flawlessly with decent graphics (though not the best setting). Windows 8 takes some getting used to but is not as bad as everyone says. Lastly the touch screen is very responsive and precise.

This Lenovo Think Pad laptop is serving me well. It's lightweight with a screen that is quite large.I had Windows Vista before but had no trouble changing over to Windows 8. I'm so glad that I purchased this particular model. I have no regrets. I just got it a month ago and haven't had a whole lot of time to play with the graphics and other things that it is supposed to do but I would highly recommend this Lenovo Think Pad.

Open-box nightmare replaced with new product

My initial experience with an open-box computer was HORRIBLE! Apparently instead of the normal inspection and clean-up it was overlooked by the Best Buy Inspectors and sent out locked up with a previous user's password and covered with fingerprints, etc. It was totally unusable. This all happened shortly before Christmas when I'm sure things are VERY BUSY! After hours of waiting on multiple phone calls, as courtesy for having received a product "not as advertized" and for all my time spent on the phone I was told my original computer would be replaced by a new one. I would just have to order a second one and return the first one. That sounded great to me.
Unfortunately, it took almost another week and approximately 5 or 6 more lengthy phone calls trying to get a return label sent to me, so I could return the first computer! All this time, I had 2 computers charged on my credit card! FINALLY, someone seemed to understand the situation and I received my return label within the hour!
Unfortunately, this was not the last of the problems. When the first computer was returned and credited to me, the courtesy allowance promised by the supervisor for all the inconveniences was not applied to my account. Again, I was back on the phone to Best Buy. By this time, I figured I ought to be on a "first name basis" for sure! Since all my calls were documented, I was immediately directed to a supervisor who RELUCTANTLY agreed that according to their records the refund was due. I was told it would take approximately 7 to 10 days. To my surprise it was credited to my account within 24 hours. Yippee! What a headache. As it turns out, I AM REALLY HAPPY WITH MY NEW COMPUTER! THANK GOODNESS!!!!!!

I walked into Bestbuy just to look at the Lenovo Yoga 13. I wasn't happy with the quality feel of the case. Next to the Yoga was the Thinkpad Yoga 13. The case felt much nicer than the Yoga and felt like something that would last. At the same time I played two youtube videos on each. The sharpness and colors of the screen was a plus on the Thinkpad Yoga. I then turned the volume up to test the quality of the speakers. The Yoga was at it's almost highest setting and sounded like laptop speakers. The Thinkpad Yoga was only 1/4 of the way turned up and it sounded like it was connected to a small surround sound system. Another plus for the Thinkpad. Glad I went in to check out the ThinkPad Yoga otherwise I would have ended up with a Yoga and probably not have been as happy as I am now. Definitely worth looking into for a portable computer/tablet that you might also use for watching movies on the go.

The laptop is amazing. I got this for my wife, and she uses it while taking care of our infant son. The tent mode lets her set it on the coffee table and watch a movie. It also has enough power to play most games at quality greater than similar laptops. The one downside is that the touchpad drivers occasionally flake out. Scrolling stops working and the only solution is a reboot. I'm hoping that this will eventually be fixed with a new driver.
