Good overall 2 in 1
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop about 4 days ago at the shop. The first thing I did with the laptop was to do a clean install with windows 10. Because Lenovo like to include a load of bloat ware with the laptop, but they have gotten better after incident with superfish screw-up. Anyway this was a replacement for Lenovo yoga 2 pro. I noticed two things right away at the startup. First is that there is a tiny bit of color bleed at the bottom of the screen. But it was only at the boot up screen. I checked again when the laptop was running and it was doing that again. Second is it was a little bit slow to startup may be because I’m spoiled with the yoga 2 pro’s full SSD hard drive. Build quality wise, laptop feels pretty sturdy. Top lid is made out of some magnesium I think. The hand rest and the bottom lid is made out of plastic, but it’s not the cheap kind. There is basically no flexing anywhere on the laptop. In the image above you will see a fingerprint reader but sadly in the model you won’t get one so that’s a downer. But what you will have is the ability to use a Wacom pen. I ordered the pen but I haven’t got it yet. (Here is the link to the pen @ lenovo site http://goo.gl/H7j5sL). So far the laptop has done very well. I checked whether this model has defect of switching off intermittently when you pick up the laptop from the right side but I haven’t had any problem so far. You can play games from medium to high settings depending on how old the game is. You will be able to play new games in mid-low to medium settings. Especially with Win 10 upgrade you get DirectX 12 which is a good thing. This also have nice bright screen with average of 290 knits. I payed $999 when I bought the laptop. Yesterday I got a coupon for student which shaves another $150 off of the total price so I encourage if you are student subscribe to the bestbuy student deals. Sometimes it’s worth it. I bought this laptop for school work. I would be running Solidworks, Autocad, and LabVIEW etc… kind of software mostly. I’m pretty sure it can handle that kind of load easily thanks to discrete graphics. So overall its good laptop. Hopefully I will not run into issues later.

You will regret if you miss this one
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Here is the hardcore analysis like neva before: I am a Electronics and Telecomm Masters student. A geek who has lot of electronics and computers. I personally recommend this laptop to all kind of professions like Student, Gamer, Businessman etc. Below are the points to be considered. 1. Its a Thinkpad Series (Self sufficient for those who know) 2. Real monster in performance: Please see the attached picture when Counter Strike was running in background and FIFA was installing. This monster handles it very smoothly. Look at the utilization parameter. Clock speed has a turbo boost and goes till 2.6 GHz 3. Gaming laptop + Business laptop + Student Laptop + Funky laptop 4. Only 4.2 lbs: easy to carry, flip. 5. Very portable when in tablet mode. 6. It is a ultrabook with everything ultra. Ultra-finish, Ultra-Slim etc. 7. S**Y keyboard and you will keep touching it just like me while writing this review. 8. Very cool even when I played CS and FIFA for 1 Hr each 9. Battery lasts for almost 6Hrs in normal use and 4 Hrs in gaming mode. 10. Feather touch screen. It gives you all the feature of 2000 bucks laptop. If your still not satisfied here is the icing on the cake: World class service by Best Buy. I have received a laptop on 2nd day of my order whereas Lenovo shop delivers a laptop after 19 Days (personally experienced) which is ridiculous. Every person at BEST Buy will try their BEST to help you in every possible way. Trust them. What else you need in ~ 900 bucks dude. So don't dare to miss this. Comment on this review if you need any further information Note: This review is written after a months use of the laptop. I have personally used DELL, ASUS, ACER, LENOVO laptops/machines.

Great Notebook by Lenovo
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, so I've been a Mac user for ten years now and since Windows 10 came out been very impressed with the progression Microsoft has taken compared to Apple (Windows has a far superior file management and networking abilities, but that comparison is for another day). I've always enjoyed the ThinkPad laptops over the years - the professional, non-flashy looks, which contrast boldly to other notebooks that seem to age far worst (style wise). The Lenovo ThinkPad 14 felt great the moment I took it out with its magnesium alloy and thin (0.80") chassis. Once opened, you notice the extremely durable hinges (Lenovo states they test them 30,000 times nonstop in development) and unique Trackpoint - which is centered in the middle of the absolute best feeling (backlit and water resistant, as well) notebook keyboard you can buy. I usually type at 60wpm, but on the ThinkPad it is pushing 75wpm. Other points of merit: loud speakers utilizing Dolby Plus software, very nice trackpad that is both smooth, clickable, and controlled by Symatics software, and of course the clever detail of integrating the red "on" LED light into both ThinkPad logos. Personally, I was going to get a ThinkPad t450s, but it being a ship-only notebook with no dedicated graphics for about $200 more... this exclusive to Best Buy ThinkPad Yoga is a better deal. Side note: I also disabled the touch screen, as I was looking for strictly a notebook only, nice to have it if I ever need it, along with the very cool mechanical keyboard lock built in when you have it in tablet mode. I've read a few reviews regarding the slow hard drive, they are not exaggerating. In order to keep the price down Lenovo has thrown in an off-brand 5400rpm hard drive along with a 16Gb cache M.2 card to help speed it up (it doesn't help much). My recommendation is to purchase a Solid State Drive (SSD) and replace it (this goes for any notebook still using a disk hard drive. Also, replacing the 16GB M.2 with something larger would treat this notebook as if it had two hard drives, great for backing up files. The other area of concern was some slightly noticeable light bleed on the left corner of the screen. I work with Photoshop so this was a concern for me, but after letting it run for around 20 hours (most of which was with the display on) it seems to have weaken. I'm usually picky but it's not nearly as bad as some I've seen and I've written it off as a common issue you might run into with these modern IPS displays with their ultra-thin bezels. Regardless, it is a fine machine with much more character than any Dell or HP. Where else can you find a 2 in 1 notebook with a 14" screen and dedicated graphics? Needless to say, I enjoy it very much (from a previous Mac user, no less). Note: Call Lenovo and check on extending the factory warranty. I was able to get three years with onsite repairs for less than Geek Squad was going to charge for just one year.

So far, happy with purchase.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I took nearly two weeks shopping online and at stores for a 14" laptop. This Think Pad was the best price with all the extras. I have a 11" and a 15.5" laptops that seemed too small or too large and a bit slow. This Think Pad is much faster. Touch screen is great, but I still prefer using a mouse. I had to buy the pen, and an Ethernet adapter, but otherwise satisfied with my purchase. The only real problem I had was delivery. Was suppose to take less than a week but took much longer because someone forgot to call UPS to pick it up from Best Buy warehouse. After talking with four different people online, the fourth one agreed with me that it was NOT in transit. Best Buy gave me a small credit for my wait.

Great laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop! Its has a nice keyboard and screen. The Geforce 940m GPU is a lot more powerful than I thought it would be. It plays Grid Autosport at 1080p on high settings just fine. I was also able to play the new Battlefront beta, but I didn't play enough of it to know the max settings that would work. It ran smoothly at 720p with medium settings. The main thing I don't like is that the headphone jack has a slight whine, so I use a usb adapter for my headphones. I also had to replace the thermal paste on my CPU since the factory didn't apply it correctly. It had a small bare spot, so my temps were getting up to 91 celsius while gaming. I used Arctic Cooling MX-4 and now my temps easily stay below 80 celsius while gaming. I highly recommend this laptop, but I'm only giving it four stars because of my two problems.

Almost 5 stars
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this as an Open Box item for $800. Pretty good price for all the functionality packed into the device. Great speed. Preloaded with Windows 10. Ran Office like a dream. Tablet functionality is great. Keyboard response is smooth as butter. What holds this back from 5 stars is the unpredictable transition between tablet-to-laptop and back. Not sure whether it's a Windows 10 problem or a Lenovo problem, but it gets frustrating when I fold the screen back but get no option to convert to tablet mode. Eventually disabled the auto-convert and got into the habit of changing the settings through Control Panel.

Great...When you get one that works
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this laptop for work. The first night I set the computer up, left for a few minutes and when I returned I could not get the computer to wake. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that my computer needed a new system board. I returned to Best Buy and exchanged for another one. On the second one, every time I pressed the space bar a "b" would type on the screen. Again I contacted the manufacturer and was told that my computer had a keyboard problem and would need a new one. Back to the store again for one more try. The third one has not had any issues so far. I love the ease of use and the touch screen capability. Hoping for no issues down the road.

Great Laptop for Business and School
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This laptop has almost all the features of the Surface 3 pro with less battery life and much heavier. But it is far more durable and less expensive. If you plan on using your computer as a laptop more often that a tablet choose this computer over the Surface Pro 3.

Good laptop/tablet for student
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had it for about 1 month and it is doing just fine. Pros: good battery life (5h+ for casual use), screen is good, keyboard is good, laptop is well built, I like thinkpad trackpoint button, graphic card. Cons: Hard drive is not that fast (although, for now I still prefer large space over small SSD), size (bezel is huge, especially bellow the screen; laptop in general could be much thinner), ethernet port is missing (you will need to get usb converter), vga port is missing. This laptop is aimed for business/student/academics and I dont understand why it does not come with VGA port and ethernet port. VGA port is still a major connection for any conference or meetings. I know that VGA port is large and does not make in thin ultrabooks because of its size, but this laptop is not that thin. If it was as thin as Yoga 3 then I would understand it. Ethernet port still needs to be there. What is the point of having a laptop and carry extra usb converters with it. I gave it 4 stars because the first one I bought was lemon. It would not even load a welcome screen and I had to go and replace is on the same day. Best buy does the great job at returning or exchanging (like it should be), but this is the review of the laptop, so I take one star away.

Good laptop for business application.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I discovered that MS 8.1 OS did not allow enterprise - domain network setup. Update to MS WIN 10 OS permitted setup. Intel Core i5-4210U CPU deemed sufficient by our IT staff; but i7 or later version of i5 CPU would be preferred. Single HDMI output and lack of interchangeable battery may be an issue for travel and remote usage. Lenovo keyboard and touchpad provide legacy functionality and familiarity. Nvidia GeForce GT 840M video graphics quality and memory capacity are great for the value.

Beautiful display, great features, great laptop!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have has this laptop for 2 weeks almost and at first I was not sure if I would like all of "gimmicky" features however I have to say none of the features on this laptop are gimmicky. The touchscreen is extremely helpful when surfing the web or going through pdf's or ebooks. The 2 in 1 capabilities are absolutely amazing. Being able to flip the laptop into a tablet allows much easier display when showing to others and looks great for presenting products to clients. I don't want to get to in depth because I will be here for awhile but 8GB of ram is very very helpful for running multiple applications and minor rendering. I cannot be happier

Love the Lenovo Yoga 14 so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a laptop, but also needed something mobile such as a tablet. The Lenovo Yoga 14 2-in-1 met both of these needs. I also feel like it doesn't compromise on either front. It's a solid, stable, good performing laptop. I am extremely happy with my purchase so far.

Seems like a solid laptop so far
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.- keyboard is great, as expected - surprisingly I like the tent/tablet mode and touchscreen. Before I bought it I thought it was just a gimmick. - not sure how much of a win the hybrid drive is -- I wish it came with a full SSD. I might install one myself honestly. - wasn't sure if this was one of the Superfish Lenovos so first thing I did after taking it out of the box was upgrade to Windows 10 and then pull a factory restore. So now I have vanilla Windows 10. - quality seems good, but time will tell.

Awesome machine.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a laptop to use at law school. Since exams are timed and taken on our own laptop in class, I knew I had better get something reliable. My laptop priorities were 1)boot speed 2)keyboard 3)screen quality 4)wifi 5)processing power. These may not be typical order of priorities, but for class, nearly instant boot speed of the hybrid drive has been golden. I can pull out my laptop and be typing notes while other students are still waiting for their operating system to boot. Seriously this boots up fast! The keyboard is a typical thinkpad quality keyboard. I can type faster and with fewer errors with the quality responsive keys. Screen picture is amazing I use it 90% of the time for reading and notes, but when I have watched movies the picture is better than my HD television. WiFi has given me ZERO issues, it is fast and just works. As far as power, I haven't really done any heavy duty processing, but it does handle media and muti-tasking very well. As a bonus, I didn't really think I would use the touch-screen or tablet feature, but as it turns out it is rather useful, I can't imagine going back to the old non-responsive screens again.

Great laptop but could use improvements
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for college because I had an i3 lenovo flex 14 and I really liked the design of the lenovo's so I stuck with this one. Take in mind I got this laptop for around $800 because of the student discount! I chose this one over the yoga 3 pro even though the pro's design was sexy lol. I also chose this over the yogo 3 because of its better specs. So this laptop has an i5, 940t graphics, a nice keyboard, light up keys, touch screen, 360 degree folding tablet mode. I really do love the red button in the middle which is like a mouse and it has other useful buttons below that. The ThinkPad on the right bottom corner also turns red at the i. and also on the lid of the laptop which is cool. It types great, is sturdy, responsive, GAMESS actually pretty well, I play high on some games like Rome total war 2, dead island, and more. I love how they got the 14" screen to fit in like a 13" size laptop which is awesome! Cons- Speakers are not clear, its ok around 50-70 but anything louder gets very muddy and doesn't sound nice, even my older lenovo had awesome speakers which is quite sad. Also battery life is a bit sad, I was expecting the 9 hours they advertised, it's bs, its only around 5-6 hours with moderate usage. But anyways I loved this laptop, it's actually my second one because the first one had a dead microphone surprisingly. If you are looking for a solid laptop, great performance, nice keyboard, good gaming laptop, 360 display, and a 1920x1080 hd screen which is gorgeous. Get this, but if you want more battery life or better speakers look elsewhere.

Perfect 2in1 laptop - for everything
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. All the features I was looking for. Top notch business laptop -- backlit chicklet keys, fantastic keyboard feel/response, 3 ports, touchscreen, fast to boot, HUGE amount of memory... PLUS flips really easily into tablet -- keys automatically protected with a moveup frame, pretty close to a real book size for reading, 14" screen plenty of room for easy graphical interface and multi-tasking. Just a tad heavy in weight, but surprisingly light considering what you're getting here. I'm delighted!

Great two-in-one computer, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review....don't expect to be able to use it with a high-precision stylus. Everything else about it is fine - lovely display, lightweight, fast, well-equipped, and runs Windows 10 perfectly. But the lack of support of a high-precision stylus limits its utility in tablet mode.

Good quality for working
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife's old laptop died. But she is not a Mac fan. So we tried almost all the available laptops brands on the market. For some ones from Dell and HP, they are good in both quality and price. However, the size is really bulky for a female user(lots of them are 15.4 or 17 inch). Finally, we find this one, which stands the best balance in price, quality and size. One more thing, the keyboard on Thinkpad is way more better than other laptops.
