Really fast laptop with satisfying keyboard, decently light @ 3 lbs. I recommend the 4K model, so vibrant! The sound bar strip has directional firing super clear, immersive and down right loud high frequency speakers. Then at front of the keyboard, on bottom, are down firing low frequency speakers that do a stellar job at providing surprisingly strong low end bass that you can even feel a little bit.....and my favorite part, all this great sound with no distortion:) Movies are so cool! Prefer this to all other ultra books, best sound period.

Unit was last one listed on BestBuy as satisfactory with all parts. Upon driving from Rhode Island to Vermont (5+ hours one way) It was delivered curb-side without a working AC Adaptor. The price reflected a fifty dollars difference and listed the lack of working AC Adaptor on the store sticker. Since I was saving over a thousand dollars I s accepted and started the long drive home. I called BestBuy contact phone and said I should get the fifty dollars back as it was listed for cheaper on the store's sticker! The rep one upped me; He googled the price of a NEW A/C adaptor from Lenovo, and added it to the 52$ which they overcharged me to give me a total refund of 102$! In total after tax this laptop cost me 621.31$! I called Lenovo having dealt with their warranty before, had them update the purchase date by providing receipt then they forwarded me a new working A/C adaptor with haste for free! YES!! The drive was a total of over 10 hours, but, saved me over one thousand dollars so in my eyes that was like getting one hundred dollars an hour to drive. Okay in my book any day! I used the saving to order a 1TB Samsung Evo Plus NVME drive for na upgrade. Side note: The restore images from Lenovo online did not exactly work as advertised, after restoring, I had to select "erase all data" then manually install the drivers downloadable on Lenovo support site whereas the Thinkpad L380 I purchased images worked flawlessly, so, that was a bit disappointing but not a deal breaker.

The yoga c930 replaced my Dell inspirion which had an i5 and only 8gb of RAM. I wanted something that wouldn't drag so I went for the i7 with 16gb of RAM and I am very pleased with the performance. The yoga runs Adobe Premier Pro better than the Dell that it replaced even though the Dell had a dedicated GTX 1060 MAX Q graphics card. Rendering times were cut by at least half. Pretty amazing for an ultrabook, although it is on the heftier end of the spectrum at 3lbs. The port selection is adequate. 2 usb c thunderbolt connections and a USB port with a headphone jack are enough to attach a Bluetooth dongle for my mouse, plug into a monitor and speakers. The device is also a multimedia powerhouse for video playback with a nice 4k display and perfectly placed speakers.
TLDR: Great modern laptop that can handle anything

The Lenovo Yoga C930-14 4K model weighs just 3.04 lbs. Working hand-in-hand with Dolby, we created the word's first speakers that fit into a convertible hinge via a rotating sound bar, delivering powerful immersive sound in every mode. The Yoga C930's Rotating Sound Bar with Dolby Atmos Speaker System is truly revolutionary, as the audio sound will be just as amazing whatever mode you're in: tent, stand, tablet, or laptop. Dolby Atmos delivers breathtaking, three-dimensional audio that flows above and around you with depth and precision. Combining two sets of speakers - featuring powerful down-firing woofers, custom tweeters, and unique vibration buffers that reduce unwanted noise - your audio will sound bigger, deeper, and more accurate. It’s sound you can feel. Combine 4K clarity with the ultra vivid imaging of Dolby Vision. Experience brighter brights, darker blacks, and colors never before seen on standard displays—the true red of an English double-decker bus, or the sharp blue of a summer sky. By shifting components, we were able to edge the screen with razor-thin 4.95 mm vertical bezels that will make the absolute most of your visuals. For 2018, Lenovo retained its place for a second year as the best laptop vendor: https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/laptop-brand-ratings

The keyboard is silver with white backlit keys which makes it hard to read the keys in good light.
Overall performance is good. Also there is no option to revert the function keys to normal usage which makes it frustrating sometimes, especially when you are used to using shortcuts on keyboard.

I value the speed of any processor beyond anything else and this Lenovo 930 happens not to deliver. Unlike the 910 my wife bought about 2 years ago with the speed or CPU of 2.70, this one only hast 1.8 GHz and that doesn't cut it for me. Besides, the mica with lighting keyboard isn't working well for me because it's shiny color makes those keys on it almost invisible. The product should have had clear distinctions of an upgrade but instead, only pen made that difference making it look like a downgrade. Disappointed.

The Lenovo Yoga C930-14 4K model ships with the powerful 8th Generation, Quad-Core/Eight-Thread Intel Core i7-8550U processor. In addition to powerful computing, the Yoga C930-14 4K model delivers cutting edge engineering: Working hand-in-hand with Dolby, we created the word's first speakers that fit into a convertible hinge via a rotating sound bar, delivering powerful immersive sound in every mode. The Yoga C930 ensures you'll be able to capture your thoughts the moment they occur because it charges while in its compartment and is ready to go. This laptop is great, don't get me wrong. However, I am looking for a laptop I love and this just isn't it. The reason? The screen is worse quality than my 2015 MacBook, so... I'm not paying $1k+ for a downgrade. (Images comparing the display of this Lenovo and my old Macbook are attached)
PROS:
The laptop is overall wonderful. The webcam has a built-in privacy screen, the stylus is stored and charged within the laptop(!), it is fast, very light, and has amazing sound quality. It feels premium and is designed beautifully. The build is amazing. Battery life is 7+ hours. Charges fast.
CONS
It does get warm pretty often if you do demanding work. This is not a laptop for someone working on the Adobe suite often. Better for a student/normal use. The fans will only kick in for short bursts. Lower quality webcam. I also feel like the stylus/touch experience isn't the best out there.
I just can't get over the screen quality. I edit websites on sites like Squarespace/WordPress for a living, so this laptop will perform fine, but I am a really visual person and I get annoyed every time I use this laptop because of the quality.
I'm switching to a PC from a 2015 MacBook. I just won't be switching to this laptop. If you're not particular about how deep your colors look, then go for this laptop. It's a great value!

I've been using Lenovo Thinkpads for work since the T40 days. Love their laptops. During a stint of unemployment a few years ago, I no longer had a "tank" Thinkpad so I bought a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro. That laptop was great! I loved the watch-band hinge, form factor, weight, screen, etc. I used the heck out of it and honestly it is still going strong. But my daughter needed a laptop for school and I thought it would be great opportunity to give her the 3 Pro and step up to the latest & greatest. When I went to Lenovo's web site, all the Yogas were out of stock. Being a gadget/tech guy, I suspected that was because a new model was eminent. Yep. The Yoga C930!
And, even before they went on sale on Lenovo's site, Best Buy had them listed as in stock. I immediately hit my local Best Buy. They didn't have one on display but when I asked the helpful salesperson, he said they had JUST arrived and weren't yet "checked in". But he offered to fetch one and I walked out with it! It was even a bit less expensive the what Lenovo listed for a price!
(most of the below will be in comparison to the Yoga 3 Pro)
Pros:
The solid feel of the body of the device. It is awesome to hold. The "edges" feel premium. Just the right weight too (the 3 Pro was actually a bit "light" and wouldn't "stay" on your lap)
The sound. The built-in sound bar really is the best built-in speakers I've heard. Good enough that I have stopped taking my bluetooth speaker when I travel. It's also the hinge and the hinge, like on the Yoga 3 Pro really does "hold" the screen in whatever position you want it.
The screen is bright crisp and easy to ready. I actually keep it dimmed down a bit for easier reading.
The CPU/RAM power. My Yoga 3 Pro couldn't handle any gaming, etc. But the C930 can play basic stuff (I play Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, etc.) I would NOT recommend it as a gaming laptop, but the power is pretty good.
Battery life - pretty good so far.
Boot time/wake time: Fantastic. The think lights right up.
Ports: You'll want a USB-C "hub". I got one with ethernet so I could get files/software on the device quickly. The WiFi is very good, however.
The camera: very good. And I do like the camera privacy slider/shield. I honestly didn't even realize it was there until I needed to use the camera!
Keyboard: I like the layout better than the Yoga 3 Pro.It still uses the Fn key to access a bunch of "basics" like Home and End but you get used to it quickly.
Trackpad: very good, better than the Yoga 3 Pro. Has a very solid/responsive clicking and the material is very smooth. NO red Thinkpad pointer thingy, but you can't have everything!
Pen: Haven't played with it much. I need to "brush up" on how to use the thing. There is some cool drawing software preloaded but I also have Photoshop and need to configure that for the pen.
Heat: Very good. Even with graphically intensive stuff. You'll hear a fan kick in but the metal body seems to dissipate the heat well.
Cons:
The price is a bit steep but if you are going for a premium device you can expect to pony-up.
One annoying design issue: When the laptop is closed, the rear edge ends up angled from bottom to top TOWARD the front. So, when you close the lid and then go to pick it up, it is a bit hard to get your fingers "under" the back edge and lift it up. I suspect I'll rewire my brain to use two hands or pick it up from the front or sides or something. If you do get to test drive it at the store, perform that test. Close the lid then "naturally" try to pick it up.
The keyboard key markings. This is the silver (they call it Mica, which isn't helpful IMHO) version. I find that for the key labeling to be readable, you either need to back lighting ON full or OFF. In other words, sometimes having the lighting ON makes it harder to read the keys! Not a huge deal, but I suspect the other, darker version has more readable keys.
Now to answer the age-old question: to sticker or not!

So far excellent computer in terms of speed and touch screen functionality. Had considered Macbook Pro (price point about the same) but this came with touch screen, more RAM, I7 and larger SSD. Some slight hesitation when using Microsoft usb wireless mouse even with updated driver- possibly due to built in touch screen function.
Battery life very good. Recommend Lenovo programmed function to only charge to 60% to provide longer life of battery- especially if leaving unit plugged in majority of the time.
Only drawback so far is that there is no SD card reader, ethernet and additional Type C (only 3) and USB (only 1) ports for plug ins. This will require purchase of additional hub which can be costly.

The Lenovo Yoga C930-14 4K Model ships with a 4CELL_60WH, Lithium Polymer Battery, with a battery life of up to 10 hours, depending on the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. Incompatible software installed on the computer will drain the battery at a faster rate. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Great Cost vs Specs & near MacBook build quality

In some ways I don’t think this machine can fully match the MacBook Pro with the overall fit finish and quality of materials. However, that said it is damned close! On the flip side I would argue in a few ways this machine surpasses the MBP lineup.
I have been a loyal fan of Mac and the Apple product lineup but I feel they have lost their direction and focus on everything being 1 mm thin and neglected the true purpose behind the products. I believe this laptop is best to pair up against the newest generation MacBook Air. I was a long time fan and in fact owned 3 different generations of the Air. But with this newest version despite my belief that they should be shooting for razor thin with bleeding edge tech for the high end laptop / ultra book user they did it all wrong. They kept the MBA from having an i7 option and the much loved MagSafe charging ports are gone. And that keyboard... ugh. Third generation of the butterfly and it still can’t break out of the cocoon into a beautiful reliable and beloved replacement to the tried and true.
The MacBook Pro which I also had two of, one 17” battle axe and one 13” mid tier good enough machine for daily non strenuous use. The 17” soldiered on through countless drops kicks flips and a few drinks dumped into the keyboard even and kept on going strong. This thing had everything i needed but the hdmi port. A small price to pay for having the rest. This was my work horse that could tackle just about anything I threw at it with ease and didn’t require a bag full of adapters and cables to make it possible. Also it was capable of running multiple virtual machines at the same time integrated into the native OS and handle 5 vpn connections all connected at the same time touting things flawlessly between them all. After 10 years of service it finally was starting to beg for mercy but it definitely was worth every penny and made me thousands back in return.
Fast forward to current lineups and you are looking at MacBook models with basically all the same goal, be the thinnest and lightest thing around. That’s great for the Air as I said before and it should have been pushed to the extreme. But the very essence of a pro machine should offer every convenience and option alongside a user serviceable set of components as these machines often see several upgrades to get the best return for the investment. No longer is this an option. And whatever happened to the MacBook base level laptop? You used to be able to buy an affordable entry level version but now the MacBook costs more than the Air and the Air has better specs, and I am referring to the old Air not the current model. The whole product lineup is like an inbred mixup of the same product over and over again. Some are just a little touched having come from the mom sister and cousin dad.
In contrast, the folks at Lenovo have taken the incremental steps with this machine to be a solid performer with a well built chassis and set of inside components and display while making it thin and keeping it somewhat user serviceable for some upgrades still, not everything soldiered to a single logic board making a $40 Ethernet chipset failure turn into a $1850 logic board changeout or a $20 keyboard that costs $700 to replace. I also still find it totally absurd that the Mac doesn’t offer a touch screen option. An iPad is not a laptop and never will be. At least not while it runs on iOS. Despite iOS having its roots in OS X it is way too dumbed down and inflexible to ever replace a MBP. Lenovo has managed to give me a solid machine that is not a chore to use, less the Windows factor but even that has improved a great deal, and they did it for roughly half the cost without making the machine monstrous in size and providing options just not possible on Mac of any flavor less we count the pen having the iPad Pro counterpart of the magnetic pencil. Nice idea but being tucked safely inside the chassis of the Yoga is far less likely to be lost or broken.
So bottom line if you want the experience of using a high quality built machine at a less insane price and you can bring yourself to suck it up and learn Windows again I would suggest this be on your short list to consider. For the business and it professionals out there the ThinkPad X1 Extreme is probably more up your alley in real life applications and it does come with a double the size price tag. But there is actually substance there to justify it.
Earlier versions of the Yoga line (900 910 and even 920) while each better than the one before were pretty lacking in the feel and ergonomics that come and feel natural. The 930 I believe which I am reviewing as well as the lower spec version should cover and meet / exceed the overall expectations of most and be generally well liked and received. Longevity is to be seen but All signs point to a largely trouble free life. One can also score the Lenovo 3 year on site premium service add on plan for warranty for about $100. Try matching that with AppleCare and you don’t have to go wait in a store for them to do the repairs. They come to you.

I bought this computer as an alternative to the x1 carbon (I know I know definitely not the same) but the computer is faster than expected, has a touch screen, converts to a tablet, nice speaker set up light weight, 4k screen (all screens seem the same to me after 720p but hey it has 4k) built in stylus which is handy for quick notes and stuff but wouldn't use it for writting essays or nothing extensive lime drawing. The style is sleek great key response. And I bought it as an open box for 500 dollars less than the retail price and got pretty much the same specs and features as a think pad minus the cool red dot track pad but I did get a touch screen. The computer is definitely a premium grade laptop and it feels like it with it's gold aluminum case does retain finger prints quite easily though. Any ways again great computer great open box deal.

I bought this as an open box product, and I couldn't be more happy with the product. This computer is mostly used for photo editing and internet browsing. Sometime it will be running slow, but that is a Microsoft issue and not a Lenovo issue as it will be running updates for the operating system in the background. It took a little bit to get used to the mouse since there are no visible buttons, and they are at the bottom of the track pad instead of the top like my work computer. The speed is great, the responsiveness of the touch screen is good, the colors of the display are vibrant and great for photo editing, and overall this laptop is exactly what I wanted.

As a student going off to college, I needed a laptop and decided on the Lenovo YOGA C930, and so far it has not disappointed. I have had my Yoga for only a couple of weeks now and it has fulfilled everything I have wanted it to do. Mostly, I run Microsoft Office programs and use online portals, so nothing that needs huge amounts of computing power, and the computer runs very smoothly and quickly completes the tasks that I require. I’ve had no trouble streaming music with multiple internet tabs open while working on a paper at the same time, but as of yet I have not tried to do any media editing or run any programs requiring huge amounts of computing power that might slow down the computer.
As for the physical features of the Yoga C930, I have been impressed. I don’t find it to be too heavy or too big, and it fits in the standard laptop case I’ve had for years in which I carry it around. The tenting feature of the screen is pretty standard nowadays, but I honestly don’t use it that much. It’s nice when you want to put on a movie or write on the screen, but not a game changer. However, what is really nice is that the speakers also pivot, thus continuing to project sound extremely well when the laptop is tented. I have found the quality of the sound from the laptop to be excellent; the one caveat is that even the lowest volume setting is not what I would call “quiet” - it is still somewhat loud. The screen itself is gorgeous and I love how large, clear, and vivid it is. It’s large enough for me to open multiple tabs at once and coherently see everything in large enough sizes / work with them. So far, I haven’t used the pen very much. It is nice that it comes in a dock so you don’t have to worry about keeping track of it, but at the same time, the dock itself cuts down on available ports (more on that later). The touch features are very sensitive, which I love, and it writes beautifully. Personally, I don’t think I will take notes on this laptop with the pen because when in tablet form, the laptop is very large and unwieldy and it’s a bit awkward (for me at least, I’m a pretty small guy) to handle. I also dislike resting my hand on the screen because it heats up as you use it, and overall I’m not fan of writing on an iPad/screen. However, that is all personal preference, and in general, the pen actual works extremely well - it is pressure sensitive and responds accurately and reliably.
The keyboard is also nice. I like keyboards reminiscent of old-style big fat keys that click and depress when you type, and while the Lenovo is modern, the keyboard is comfortable in my hands. I hate keyboards that are slick and where keys barely depress (ie all iPad/any electronic keyboards); the Lenovo isn’t like that at all. Some people mentioned in other reviews that they couldn’t see the letter/number markings on the keys on the models with the color “Mica” but personally, I’m having no issue with that and can see just fine. The keyboard is also backlit, which is a gimmick for me but doesn’t bother me. I also love the touch reader; it’s so easy to sign in and out. And perhaps one of my favorite features (a bit of a gimmick) is the camera-blocker (quickly on the webcam: it has a surprisingly crisp picture quality for a webcam). I LOVE how discreet the tab is that allows you to flick the cover over the camera so that no one can remote access your webcam and spy on you. It’s so elegant compared to people who put tape on their laptop over the camera and it gives me a peace of mind.
On to the negative: the ports. The laptop has one USB-A (regular) and two USB-C ports, which I feel is disappointing. I like to plug in a mouse, which takes away the one normal USB port, and virtually nothing I use connects with USB-C. It’s unfortunate that to use more ports, I have to plug in an unwieldy extender. And of course there is a headphone jack, which works well. The charging plug connects to the USB-C ports, and I’ve found the computer charges quickly and holds its charge for a long time - 8 to 9 hours I would estimate. However, the cable is a bit thick and I’m a bit disappointed it’s so archaic, considering I’ve seen laptops nowadays with iPhone-thin charging cables. Overall concerning the ports, I’m rather disappointed there aren’t more, but it was a trade-off I decided to make for everything else about the Lenovo when I bought it. I’ve also found my university to use a lot of online sharing services and portals as opposed to physical drives or USB sticks to share materials, which I believe is more and more the trend, with cloud services expanding and all, so the lack of ports actually hasn’t been such a big deal as of yet.
In general, I’ve been pleased with the Yoga C930. I would say this laptop is perfect for me, a college student who doesn’t run any super high powered programs and just wants to stream music and movies, write papers, and do a ton of web surfing for school and personal use.

The Lenovo Yoga C930-14 4K model, is an ultra portable, 2 in 1 device, with maximum computing power, on the go, in a thin, light weight device. The Yoga C930-14 4K model weighs just 3.04 lbs and though the screen size is 13.9-inches (screen size measured diagonally), the computer only measures 12.61 x 8.93 x 0.57 inches. The Yoga C930 offers 16GB of DDR4-2400MHz RAM, 512GB SSD PCIe of super-fast storage, as well as 8th Generation Intel Core i7 processing. So you'll have a system engineered for powerful responsiveness and speed in a razor-thin convertible. We've heard from you that keeping track of a digital pen can be a pain. With a garaged pen (included) that fits flush into the chassis, you won't have to worry about looking for your pen when you need it. The Yoga C930 ensures you'll be able to capture your thoughts the moment they occur because it charges while in its compartment and is ready to go. With its 4,096 points of pressure sensitivity in the tip of the pen, it provides the natural feel of a pen-on-paper experience, with twice the accuracy of competitors' pens.

I really love this laptop. It’s super light and thin and easy to use. The Touch ID and internal Wacom pen puts it over the top for me. If you’re thinking of getting a MacBook but don’t need all the artist features and it’s out of your budget this is a GREAT second option. That being said it’s still quite pricy. But worth it. Even if you get it along with the 3 year protection plan it’s still cheaper than Apple. Highly recommended by me. :)

I use my laptop for general web browsing, streaming of video, graphic design, light gaming, and more. I had to upgrade from my old laptop which was 8 years old. While I wish it had more ports, I will eventually get a dock to be able to plug in more things (external monitors, keyboard, etc). I like the flexibility of the convertible laptop/tablet design. The sound is also great on this model. I went with the 4K screen and I like the colors shown.

Went in to buy a Mac Pro. I discussed and reviewed every laptop in the store and kept coming back to this Lenovo Yoga C930 for its speed, storage, self contained/self charging stylus, touch screen, multi functional laptop. So many great features that other computers just don’t have. The color, clarity and sound is stellar! My top pick. Very high end and worth the money for sure!
