Great Music from a Great Artist! You can feel the energy and the presence of the effort he put down on those songs. A part of himself was surely left on each and every record! An influence in every way, cause we sure love to ball!

Marvin Gaye undoubtedly has one of the most seductive and delicious tones in music. On "Let's Get It On" his voice breeds a carefree level of pleasure's fun and abandon. It's not as poetic as his love/lust manifesto and masterpiece "I Want You". Which in my opinion is the DEFINITIVE chapter (and most indulgent one) in his later "cognac, candles and moonlight" era. Yet this LP has a more wild groove to it (checkout the joy in his voice on 'Come Get to This'). It's like he knew he would whisper his ultimate "come on" with "I Want You". So, when "Let's Get It On" came to him, he wanted to be a bit more straightforward in his lyricism and less "tongue in cheek". It pays off too. This relaxed vibe bubbles over on the title track, 'Keep Gettin' It On' and steamy 'You Sure Love to Ball'. On this re-mastered version of the album, one can hear his "freak-flag" work its vocalized magic in crisp definition. The more subtle tracks like: his dreamy 'If I Should Die Tonight', 'Distant Lover', irresistible 'Please Stay (Once You Go Away)' and most soulful break-up burner 'Just To Keep You Satisfied' explores his tone even further. This album ain't deemed a classic for nothin'.

This CD should be in everybody's collection without question!!!

Includes informative liner notes. These tracks are the original ones, and have not been remastered as we are used to, but, that sweet Detroit soul still comes out.

Marvin put a lot of work into the lyrics on this album. The musical arrangements are excellent. It makes you want to sit back and listen to the relaxing sounds.

I have not heard this CD/Album since the 80's. It was such a good price and has always been one of his classic albums back in the day!

MANY SONGS THAT YOU MAY LOVE FROM MARVIN. HE LEFT US TOO SOON. SOME ARE HAUNTING.

This is an oldies CD. This is a must have for the baby boomers.

I have always wanted to add this classic to my collection.

I enjoyed listening to all the songs on this CD. They just don't make them like thy use to!

This CD really isn't that great, sounds like the same stuff on every track.

The classic remastered and in single disc form rather than the expanded 2 CD deluxe edition. If you want just the album grab this, but for the in depth look at the album grab the expanded.
