This is a Russian film about a regular man fighting against the local mayor over his home and property. The story has a slow build to it, and the outcome is not easily predicted. This is an excellent film with great acting by all of the lead characters, even though the story is dark and depressing.

This 2014 Russian-language drama was nominated for Best Foreign Film, and rightfully so. Well worth checking out, this blu-ray is also packed with special features.

I really appreciated this movie. I know the average movie watcher can't watch movies with subtitles but some great movies have been made elsewhere in the US.

Leviathan is not a fun film to watch, but it sure delivers on the drama. A bit dark in setting and tone, it should appeal to fans of indie films, and people interested in a unique view of government corruption in Russia.

Leviathan was a decent movie, though a bit slow for my taste at times. The story does take some interesting twists and turns that make the story unique and somewhat memorable. You must be in the mood to read subtitles, so not a movie to watch if you are tired or are looking for a typical American popcorn and soda type movie. On the parental ratings, it is not recommended for the kids, some nudity and profanity.

One of the best foreign language movies in years. A bleak tragedy that will really stick with you.

Slow but good. I would still recommend it for people who like drama and foreign film.

I enjoyed this film, but not everybody has the same taste, so check it out and see if you like it. You don't need me to make that decision for you.
