Sometimes those power bricks are just not working very well at places like kitchen countertops, bathrooms or maybe at your work desk - they stick out and can be easily knocked out of the outlet, they tend to block you from plugging in stuff you want... Or maybe you have little kids and not comfortable with them plugging in 120V device, but you can allow them to plug USB-C. This outlet is to the rescue! Not only you get 2 standard 125V 15A tamper resistant (it's a code requirement since 2014) but also a 2 USB-C ports with Power Delivery (PD) capability! This allows you to charge devices like phones or tablets at a high speed, much faster than included with some phones white 5W brick. Outlet features 2 USB-C ports, however pay attention at what you plug in - you only get full 30W of power if just a single port is plugged in! It's capable of either 9V at 3A (27W) or 15V at 2A (30W), there is no 20V option (so it won't charge a MacBook for example but it will charge biggest iPad no problem). If both ports are plugged in - all you get is 5V and 3A so 15W per port max, no matter if your devices support Power Delivery. Installation is easy and is no different than any other receptacle, the only note - it's kinda thick and takes extra space in a box, so watch out for that - make sure it fits the box! It also won't work very well if you replacing a switch controlled outlet - you will either loose a switch control capability or will have to keep that switch on all the time. Overall I'm very satisfied with how outlet looks, reduces clutter and charges my iPad! Don't forget to pickup a decora wall plate, outlet does not come with one.

Leviton - 6A/30WT USB DUAL WALL CHARGER - White Summary: Two fewer chargers, one suped-up outlet! Pros: * Features two 30 watts/ 6A USB-C ports. * Eliminates the need for two higher-power USB-C chargers. * You get to keep two outlets with unfettered access. Cons: * The enclosure is tight! Metal single gang boxes make for a tight fit with this unit. I was so concerned about inadvertent contact of the terminals, that I wrapped some electrical tape carefully around the exposure points. Note: The contacts are recessed and contact shouldn't happen, but if your box is warped, etc, it could happen. I just used some tape to be sure. * No included plate. I've tried other brands, and some feature included plates, others don't. This one doesn't. So just plan for that. Use: This might be the shortest review I've written. I turned off the breaker to my island. I tested for live voltage. I removed the plate for the existing outlet, I removed the outlet, I removed the wires. Then, I reversed steps to install his new outlet. 5 minutes later, it just works! It took a few hours to charge an iPad Pro from 0% to 100% which is on par with the dedicated larger power bricks (hubs) I own, except without the need for a brick or yet another thing sticking out of the outlet. The distinguishing factor for this unit is this: 30W/6A This unit has enough juice to charge iPad Pros and smaller laptops. But not all laptops. For instance, my Lenovo work laptop will charge while plugged directly into this outlet, however, depending on my usage of the laptop the rate of discharge may exceed the rate of charging. This is because my laptop's USB-C charger is rated at 65 watts. If the laptop was off, this outlet would do the trick. All I need to do is continue replacing outlets in my home at strategic locations.

This is a great little outlet upgrade to give you the latest USB-C outlets, but also provide PD (power delivery) for devices such as laptops. I typically use it for fast charging devices such as my iPhone and Kindle Fire tablet, and dual-15W ports it can fast charge 2 devices simultaneously. Just a word of caution here if you are planning to use it for PD, you only get the 30w output when only using one of the outlets (and I mean you cannot even have anything plugged into the other). If you are getting an electrician to install this it will fit in a regular out, but just a word of warning if like me you are happy to do simple outlet replacements - the back of the outlet is deep (see photo for size comparison with a 9v battery). In my case this means that I just had to be more 'economical' than usual with the wiring in the wall box and it took some careful positioning when I completed the install. I received this item at no cost as part of the technical evaluation program, but all opinions here are my own (in fact I already purchased 2 additional to replace other outlets)

I like finding new things! You could easily just put a charging station together, but then it takes up counter or table space, with the Leviton Dual-USB Charger that is not necessary if only needing to charge two devices...or more if utilizing the receptacles with chargers. I ended up installing the plug in the living room where we typically charge our tablets. I am pleased overall with the charging. It is not the fault of Leviton, but one thing to consider is that not all devices charge the same speed. For example the main devices in my home are: Google Pixel 3a 18W charging max= 5V @3amp Galaxy Note 20 & S21 25W charging max= 9V @2.77amp Galaxy Tab S7 45W charging max= 15V @3amp The Leviton Receptacle has 5V@3a (15W), 9V@3a (27W), and 15V@2amp (30W). So all of my devices charge at the default 15W; which is considered Fast/Rapid Charging (anything above 10W), but because each of my devices charges at different profiles, unless the Leviton had that specific profile, or my device could match the Leviton profile then it will only charge at the default rating set by the Leviton receptacle. Again, not trying to throw Leviton under the bus as they have built their device to charge at the ratings laid out by the USB Power Delivery 3.0 ratings, but mobile device manufacturers set their own standards within the limits. The formula for Watts=Volts x Amperes. Check what your intended devices charging rate is, so you have proper perspective when looking at what your charging experience will be. The documentation states that it can charge up to 2 devices, but that too will only be at 15W as the total output is 30W, which again is still fast charging. So the WARNING in my title has to do with placement. The device itself is large and depending on the location of the receptacle you wish to replace, the Leviton Dual-USB Charger may not fit. The device is larger than a GFCI receptacle and so trying to place it in a wall box with a second receptacle might be fine, but if there is a GFCI also in that space, highly unlikely that it would fit. As a note, this device is NOT a GFCI receptacle so do not put this in place of one, your circuit would not be protected. Also, given that the USB ports are in the same orientation as the receptacle blades, it is definitely advisable to install in an area that you would not easily try to insert the USB-C in the the receptacle blade. Lastly, if using the USB-C and the receptacle outlets at the same time, be mindful of the size of the device plug needing the receptacle. It may need a device extension. Also, code does state that the receptacle should be installed with ground plug in the up orientation. The reasoning is so that if the plug is not fully seated in the receptacle, and something falls it doesn’t cross the blades...but 99% of items you typically plug in do not use a ground, so not an issue. So, putting in the “code approved” orientation is fine, unless you are going to use a power strip with a flat plug orientation, as it most likely will block the USB-C port.

REVIEW: LEVITON - 6A/30WT USB DUAL WALL CHARGER - WHITE Best Buy Tech Insider Network CONTROL YOU MESS OF WIRES AND CHARGERS The LEVITON - 6A/30WT USB DUAL WALL CHARGER was easy to install, just like any other electrical outlet. Because of it’s large and deep size the internal electrical wires are on the side only (no easy insert of wires from the back). It allowed me to get rid of 3 power adapters and has plenty of power to run / charge all my devices (2xFitbit, 1XWatch, 1XE-Reader, 1X Phone), and I still have 2 AC outlets to spare. I will need to tweak my cables a little more because not all my devices are yet USB-C. So for now, I have a USB-C to USB-A adapter plugged into a USB 3 Hub and most of my devices are hanging off the Hub. But meanwhile, they all show as charging, so it is all good. I still have a lot of cables hanging around, but at least I got rid of all my charging bricks and extension cords. SUMMARY / CONCLUSION / RECOMMENDATION I highly recommend the LEVITON - 6A/30WT USB DUAL WALL CHARGER for anyone who just wants to reduce the clutter on their desk / table. I also assume that this one charger will take up less “vampire power” than all the other power bricks I had running previously.

If you've ever installed an electrical outlet, this is really no different. First use a meter or tester and make sure the power is off on the outlet you'll be working on. It's a simple process to remove the cover and the old outlet. I had previously replaced all my outlets with the newer European style, so all of my wires were connected via the screw terminals. Once the old outlet was removed it was time to install the new one. The first thing to know about this Leviton outlet - ITS HUGE. Looks to be double the depth of the outlet I was replacing. Reconnecting the wires as an easy process, making sure you connect the wires to the correct terminals including the ground wire. Then came the challenging part, trying to get this thing back in the outlet box. After many attempts I thought I had a good fit, but it's still sticking out of the wall more than it should be when the plate cover is added. I did connect a couple of devices; a tablet and a set of wireless headphones, via the USB C ports, as well as a standard wall charger. Everything worked as it should. I'm going to have to remove this and will try other other locations in the house to see if I can find a better fit. If not I may have to look to see if there's a deeper outlet box available. Giving this 4-Stars only because of how big it is. If you're thinking of buying this you may want to check the outlet box you want to put it in to see how much space you have.

The Leviton - 6A/30WT USB DUAL WALL CHARGER will clean up you charger clutter giving you a much cleaner look. You can charge 2 USB C devices at 5V at 3A (15W), or one device at 9V at 3A (27W) or 15V at 2A (30W) fast charge specification. The unit also supplies two 120 volt grounded receptacles. If you want to plug a charger into the receptacles you might need an extension as they can block the USB C ports if it is large. Hopefully all your devices use USB C! You can also use an USB C to USB A adapter for devices that need USB A. Installation is a snap. TURN OFF THE POWER to the old receptacle. Remove the wall plate and the old receptacle, place the wires as noted on the receptacle and instructions. Put all the screws back and screw the wall plate on, that's it! You will need to replace the receptacle plate with one that has the rectangular opening if you have the old style oval opening plate. Fyi plates come in different widths so choose the one that matches your existing plate. This plug also has over current protection to protect your devices and the outlets are taper resistant to prevent little kiddos from inserting things in them! I really like these outlets, there are others on the market but with electicity and my expensive devices I trust Leviton a well know name in electronic outlets and other devices.

Leviton T5635-W This is the USB-C / 120 volt outlet combo device to facilitate convenient charging of devices while still retaining 2 outlets for other electric items. It is a great product and easily swapped out. Here is a basic method: Plug in a radio or lamp into the existing outlet you wish to change to this Leviton USB outlet. Then flip the circuit breaker that controls that outlet until the radio or lamp turns off. That is the best way to insure the electricity is turned off. If you have never done any electrical wiring work then please contact an electrician or a friend who has knowledge and experience to do this. Make certain the electricity is turned off before proceeding! Unscrew the cover plate. Unscrew the two screws holding the old outlet into the junction box. Make a note of the two wires and loosen the 2 screws holding the old outlet to the 2 wires. Substitute the new Leviton USB outlet using the existing two wires. Gently push it back into the wall box and screw in a new Decora style outlet cover (not supplied with the outlet) Flip the circuit breaker back on and enjoy the convenience to fast charge any new USB-C device while also having the 2 normal power outlets for other items. Installation was easy and placed this in our dining room where we charge our phones. The USB-C ports make it very convenient while leaving the main outlets available if we need them. Phones charge fast. Works as expected and would recommend to those who want to save space for a multiple use outlet and save time from plugging/unplugging the charger.

Firstly, Best Buy was able to price match this so I didn’t have to go out to my local hardware store. Secondly, it came faster than predicted. Once received, it was easy to install. I’m a DIYer. Make sure you have enough room in your electrical box so it fits. Some wiring organizing will make this fit. No issues installing. It was straight forward. The Power delivery works. Used this to charge my MacBook Air and iPhone 12. Fast charging works. Can only have 1 usb c plugged in for the max 30 watt. When you have 2 (even if no device is plugged in the second) it’ll split the wattage between the 2 for 15 watts. Overall, works for my needs. Don’t have to plug in a charging brick. Deduct the 1 star for the usb c not being able to better manage the usb c ports.

We got this for the flexibility to be able to charge either 1 device at 30W (like a small laptop) or two at 15W each (phones/tablets/etc). Leviton is also a well known name, so that helps with the confidence of the product. Thus far, it's been great! Just make sure to pick up a face plate for it; we opted to get the screw-free one for a few bucks and it looks fantastic.

Replaced a traditional outlet to take advantage of fast charging. Easy to install. Surprisingly cheaper to purchase at bestbuy than amazon or the big box hardware stores

I love these outlets in the Decora format. The USB C ports are lightening fast for quick charging my devices. I'm almost exclusively on USB C now, and happy I don't need to use adapters anymore!

Leviton products are pretty solid, didn’t want to buy generic knockoffs on Amazon. These are great with fast charging usb-c.

It charges my MacBook Air or my Apple I-pod Mini at higher amperage if only one used, which was as advertised. Nice to limit adaptors.

This USB C wall outlet is awesome. It looks nice with the proper (not included) wall plate, and the two USB-C ports are the perfect addition to my kitchen where I installed it for charging our phones fast when we need to. My iPhone 11 Pro Max picks up over 50% additional charge from this outlet in about 15 min which is super quick. Easy to install with a little electrical know-how, the only catch being that it is rather large and may not fit in older homes that have small metal electrical boxes. Otherwise it is great and I highly recommend it.

A great choice for a power socket near a gathering point in your home. If you're like me, I tend to convene with friends and guests around my kitchen bar. Some of us have iPhones while others have Android devices. The battle between different charges and cables often rages; but not anymore! With the Leviton dual-USB wall charger, now we can all charge our devices without a separate power brick. Granted, these USB sockets are USB-C only. While I needed to get a USB-C to Lightning cable for my phone, guests with modern Samsung phones can just bring their own. Problem solved! I can also set my iPad Pro on the counter and easily charge nearby without the pesky power brick - again, convenience! If you have replaced power sockets or switches in your home, this is no different. It is pretty simple to do in a matter of minutes. Just make sure you cut the power to the room! The package includes the wall socket only. You will need to get a face plate separately if you do not already have one that matches this style of a socket. Face plates are super cheap at your local hardware store. The placement of the two USB ports are in the middle. Depending what other power cords you have plugged in, the USB ports may be blocked by your other devices (looking at you Amazon Echos!). Overall, this is a great product for those of you with USB-C cables. Leviton does make other sockets with multiple input methods, so if USB-C does not work for you, there are other options. Great upgrade for tech enthusiasts! Buy it. You won't regret it.

This is easy to review, was easy to install and looks great. Ive been wanting to add USB charging ports to my outlets for some time now. This came along and was the answer. Now that many new devices come with USB-C cables this is an easy way to ensure you always have a charger available at home. Install is easy, shut down power to the outlet you want to switch out, remove the old outlet, and install the new one, turn back on power and you are done. 5-10 minutes max. I use it to charge my iPhone 12 Pro Max and my Galaxy Tab S6. Both devices charge quickly and I have no issues. Recommended.
