It provides 30 watts of total charging power. With a device plugged into one port, the entire 30 watts goes to that port. If both ports are in use, power is limited to 15 watts per port. The device is also equipped with Power Delivery (PD). When charging a PD enabled device, the outlet will deliver the optimal charging current for that device to charge in the smallest amount of time. Installation: Let's begin by saying that, if you're not 100% confident in your ability to ensure no power is applied to the wiring of the outlet location you have chosen for installation, and you're not completely confident you can safely and correctly install this device, please hire a professional. If you choose the DIY method, installation is totally straight forward. Simply remove the old receptacle, and connect the black wire(s) to the new outlet's terminal with the brass colored screw, the white wire(s) to the terminal with the silver colored screw and the bare wire to the green screw. Depending on the size of the wall box and the number of wires it contains, this outlet may be tougher to squeeze back in, so arrange the wires carefully as you reinstall the outlet. It is significantly larger than the standard outlets typically installed. To complete the installation, you will need a "Decora" style cover plate. Charging: I was able to charge two iPads simultaneously with no issues (using adapters). Charging two phones, headphones, earbuds, and the like also presented no issues. It also charges my MacBook Air pretty well, but is slower charging my wife's MacBook Pro due to the larger capacity battery. However, it will keep both charged while working to at least the level they were at initially, and it will fully charge either overnight while they sleep. Overall, this is a great device if you want to not have to keep up with a bunch of charging bricks. I have the USB-A devices like this at both night stands in my master bedroom and my guest rooms. Then all you need is a cord. I can't recommend this item enough if you want the convenience of installed USB charging.

This outlet allows you to future proof your home with USB-C at a reasonable price. Though it’s more expensive than a standard outlet, not needing a power brick for charging more than justifies the price. Charging an iPad Pro 12.9 inch the battery increased 30% in about 40 minutes while watching videos on YouTube. The body is much bigger than a standard outlet so make sure your electrical box has the room. Unlike a standard outlet this model only has two screws on the back and no holes to push in.

The step-by-step instructions provide safety guidelines, warnings, and diagrams that are easy to follow. I appreciate the level of detail given to us non-professional electricians, since it can't be understated how much of a turnoff it is to have insufficient installation instructions. The outlet fit perfectly in place and worked as expected. The off-white color is typical of most outlet covers, but no cover is included so be wary of that aesthetic. The USB-C ports allow for just a few wires in the plug area, with no charging bricks needed that may clutter up the charging area. This is a great alternative to bulky wall outlets or surge protectors that need to be mounted or hidden. Many of my devices use USB-C, but if you typically use a different connection a simple, inexpensive adapter for your cable will suffice, though it would have been a nice add-on if included. Otherwise, this outlet charges at a higher power for devices that are Power Delivery capable - most of my tablets, mobile devices, and laptops filled up in no time. Easy to install, quick to charge, and manages wire clutter a little better than your typical wall outlet adapter - the Leviton Duplex USB Charger does the job well. Highly recommended. Installation was pretty straightforward using the included instructions as well as some online videos. It’s true that this thing is deep, so make sure you have room not only for the outlet but your wires as well. Other than that, I tested charging an iPad Pro as well as an iPhone 12 and the USB-C outlets worked well in terms of charging. Very convenient to not have to use wall warts when charging these and similar items.

I absolutely love these types of outlets. Obviously, this specific one is for those of us with more USB C devices than older devices in our household. I have different types of these outlets scattered throughout my house but the dual 30W capability is awesome, I installed this one on our kitchen island and both my wife’s laptop and my laptop can charge at the same time from this outlet. My favorite part is that I no longer must chase a brick around, I have cords everywhere, but the charging bricks themselves seem to always become scarce. To be fair you may need to still confirm your laptop can charge with 30W provided. My work laptop can only charge with a minimum 45W USB C port, but I believe most macs, iPad, surface devices, and other mainstream laptops/tablets should be able to make use of this port. For the installation, it’s an outlet, so it takes about 10 min to find your tools and then another 10 min to install. If you’re new to the DIY outlet/light switch swap crowd there are a ton of resources online and it’s not hard at all to get done. There is only one hot and neutral screw each along with the ground so this outlet wont work for any half hot outlets unless you want to lose that functionality (Half hots basically mean you have outlets controlled in your living room with a light switch). The last thing I will mention is that I really like the design where the USB ports are towards the side versus in the center, some AC plugs are overlarge and can block USB ports that are in the middle. Where these are placed it is less of a problem.

This is a great outlet for the wall, installed easily, looks good & charges devices fairly quick by usb connection. Makes it easy to leave the cable plugged in & ready. It will only charge a usb-c though, other usb will not fit. So if you have an older phone or tablet you may want to pass this one by.

Very glad Leviton came out with this as more and more tech products switch to usb C for the faster connection and charging. Installation of outlets are super easy. You just need a screwdriver and to turn off the breaker switch for the outlet on your main power box. It literally takes 5 mins and charging things like my VR, IPhone, IPad, and camera batteries is soooo much faster than regular USB and my regular plug outlets are not blocked with bulky charging blocks. I actually have a mix of regular plug outlets, plug with USB, and now these plug with USB C. I usually put them near where I would put stuff down to charge. Highly recommend. Very easy and functional upgrade to your home. Don’t forget to hit the breaker switch!

This is a well-made super easy to install solution for the need of a 6A/30watt USBC wall adapter. Leave the “brick” for your USB-C charger in the drawer. As long as you have a cable, you have plenty of charging power right at the outlet. I use it for my iPad Pro to prevent having to attach the big adapter (I always end up adding a power strip to charge). No need for the power strip anymore!!! Much neater and more dependable. Just don’t forget you’ll need a wall plate with the large rectangular single opening. Again, it’s three very clearly labeled wires. EASY install. I plan to get one of these for each bedroom and the offices.

The never ending battle between plugged in appliances and charging bricks is over. I've always considered countertop receptacles a convenient place to plug in a charger and connect my phone or tablet. I've always had to jockey between the charger and coffee maker. Leviton eliminates the inconvience by adding USB charging ports on a standard 120V duplex receptacle. Ingenious!!!! No more unplugging and plugging in chargers and appliances. I've seen receptacles with USB type A port but now they have the USB type C. Great ideas since a lot of devices are going that way. I ended up purchasing a few Lightning to USB C cables and leave them plugged in with cords stashed away until needed. I can now leave my coffee maker plugged in too!!! At 5V the output is 3.0A and it takes and iPad up to full charge in a fraction of the time that the standard charger does... that is if you get a charger with your phone now since Apple and Samsung have decided to not include them with your new phone. Great idea, long overdue and super convenient. I plan on switching out a few other receptacles in the house. Worth the purchase.

This receptacle was fairly easy to install. I have installed other receptacles that you can push the wire in but this you have to wrap around the screws but still not a hard install. I really like the charging of the USB and that is worth the trade off. Charges items fast from my experience with using it.

Whether you have the electrical aptitude to install yourself or have someone else install for you the Leviton - 6A/30WT USB DUAL WALL CHARGER is a solid performer. It is Power Delivery (PD) capable, meaning that if your device supports the standard it can pull more juice and charge faster. It is also pretty much compatible with charging most any modern device. Keep in mind though that this requires a USB-C type connector on the outlet side and even devices that use USB-C connectors often come with a cable having the more common USB-A connector on the other end meaning you might need to get a cable with Type C on both ends or an adapter. Personally, I'm a big fan or USB-C as it is more versatile and you never need to worry about the direction of the plug. I was able to charge all of my USB-C capable devices with this outlet easily and in some cases quicker than with the plug-in adapter that came with the device.

Works like a champ. Been using this plug for the past couple of weeks. Works with my iphone and a friends Samsung. Charges quickly and effectively. His phone was charged sufficiently after a couple of hours of visiting. Looks great on the wall and didn’t take our installer but a few quick minutes to install

Overall, it does exactly as it should. It you can replace a receptacle for a light switch or a outlet then this will be no problem for you. It's definitely has a little more weight to it than a normal outlet but that's to be expected because of the added USB-C ports. The ports are snug fitting and anything plugged into them does not sag. This is nice as I've found in the past some outlets are loose this causes the items to become unplugged. Overall, I'm satisfied with the new outlet. It's nothing earth shattering but it's functioning as it should and looks good.

The concept of having an outlet with built in USB ports was great - it would eliminate the need for a separate USB charger and free up the standard outlets. But... the ports are NOT USB ports - they are USB-C. Which means, you have to have a USB-C to USB-C cord (which does NOT come with it) in order to use it. Also - once installed - which was easy just like a standard wall outlet - you need to purchase an open cover plate. It did not come with one as pictured in the item. The unit itself is good, with ample power BUT you need to read exactly what you are getting - which is just the outlet - no cover plate and no cables - so you need to be prepared.

Better pricing at Bestbuy! Was readily available vs other big box home improvement stores. Great with devices nowadays that have USB C.
