Makes a electrical frying noise now when I turn it on and lights dim. It's appropriate considering it's almost Halloween, but not for meal preparation. So much for buying NAME BRAND.

Defective control panel

The microwave died less than a month after purchase. Best Buy won't exchange it. LG didn't offer an exchange or return when Icalled. I was told a repair shop would come to the house. They had to order a part. It's been a week, still waiting. LG made a follow-up call where I was told home repairs were not covered under the warranty. I explained I was given no other option. The rep said they would then cover it because of the mix-up, I assume. I think BB should have allowed an exchange. My former LG microwave lasted for years, this one less than a month.

My wife was warming up previously fried bacon on a paper plate with a paper towel to cover it to avoid any possible splatter when sparks started to fly. The brown plastic roller frame under the revolving glass plate was chared black in a section . We have done this many times before without issue. I rarely post reviews let alone negative posts. I felt I had to let the buyer be aware. I know better than to waste my time trying to pursue the 1 year warranty. Purchased a new microwave from a competitor. I will continue to consider Best Buy after doing business with them for over 30 years with much reservation.
