My old microwave oven was failing, so I looked for another that had the size, power and features I wanted. This LG microwave has just what I need - It fits nicely on my counter top (looks nice there, too), has a full 1100 watts for great cooking, and I can do all the different things I need to do with the array of controls. And, the price was right, too.

After reading reviews I decided on the LG microwave. My previous one was a GE and the porcelain on the inside started to get rust and chipping off and no amount of cleaning did any good. I really like all of the options on the LG that my previous microwave didn't have and the dark interior allows me to see what I am heating or cooking. Very satisfied with the product so far.

This microwave has a very modern look. It is so large inside that it could easily fit a medium sized 10 pound turkey inside. It is very easy to operate, with many pre-sets for quick cooking.

The decision to purchase this microwave came about when our old microwave died after 12 years. This microwave was a perfect size for the space we had for it, slightly larger than the previous one. It is a very attractive appliance and so far seems to be well-constructed and works as advertised. I have had no problems with it to date. It has a turntable inside, and is an attractive stainless.

I bought this LG microwave to replace my just died Sears Kenmore Elite microwave that just died while heating some food. I read many, many reviews and thought I'd give this LG model a shot.
After finding this in my local Best Buy store, I picked it up and brought it home. If I did not know better, it looks exactly like my old Sears unit as far as size and shape. In fact, the glass turntables are identical.
Two things about this particular LG model, that may, or may not bother you. I bought the black exterior finish, so other colors (stainless or white) may or may not be different.
#1....as most reviewers have mentioned here at Best Buy, and other sites that sell this model, the key pad lettering is pretty difficult to read as the print is a dark grey and the background is black. It's ok to read for daylight or very bright kitchen lights at night. But if it's dark and your kitchen lighting is not very bright, it's more difficult to read. A flashlight really helps in this matter. #2....the inside is also a very dark grey finish and while the light does stay on when the door is open, it's a bit harder to see food that may have splashed onto the side walls for cleaning.
I knew about the lettering on the keypad, and it's really not a problem. This LG microwave, so far after two months usage, has been great. I highly recommend this unit.

So far the microwave is working beautifully; I have no complaints or regrets. Also the great thing about it is that the enamel interior makes it very easy to clean. LOVE IT!!! LG products are great.

The microwave is used by my family which uses it multiple times per day. It has number of preset functions, some useful and others not. The functions it needs but doesn't: include: REHEATING A DINNER PLATE and SOUP. My old microwave had those options, this one doesn't.
The control panel is hard to read unless the room light is really bright. The printing is too small and not of sufficient contrast to the black background.

I'd prefer to have the light on the panel, and a light on while the food is cooking/warming. It does a very good job warming food & pops a perfect bag of popcorn

Standard microwave with standard features. Pretty cut and dried. With the exception of having a control panel you can't read in normal lighting. The printing is dark letters and numbers on a dark background. A cruel joke. I was hoping the whole panel was going to illuminate so i could actually read it. No such luck. A real drag. We keep a small flashlight on top of the microwave when we have to see the numbers. I wrote to LG customer support, and my eventual response was that the microwave was designed to be used in bright lighting. Ridiculous. All this from a company that makes cell phones of all things. We'll keep it because it works well once you can find the right buttons to press.

Purchased this microwave to replace one that had given us years of great service. Did not expect to find one I liked as well as the old one, but this is pretty close. 1100 Watts is exactly what we were used to, and there are automatic settings for defrosting, cooking and melting various foods. Cooking chamber has a rounded back rather than corners that trap bits of food. Inside surface is easy-clean--really! Only drawback: black control panel is difficult to read. Other reviewers mentioned this, but I decided I could deal with it. If you put this microwave in a dimly lit location, you might want to keep a little flashlight close by.

LG LCRT1513ST Microwave compact & easy to clean

I bought the LG LCRT1513ST Microwave after my beloved Sharp counter-top unit gave up without warning.
I quickly ran to Bestbuy store and picked this unit out of the bunch.
Pros:
Compact size
Simplistic design
Stainless steel looking (stainless steel in appearance only not in material)
Easy to clean interior -- has non-white non-stick coating. A great change from the traditional white interior found on almost every other microwaves.
It did not hurt that it also boasts of energy saving features too.
Cons:
No lighted keypad. The only means of light from the front panel is the Timer/clock LCD.
Light from the LCD is so low that you will have to turn on kitchen light just to see the 30-seconds Quick key for a quick warm up.
Basically, you can't walk up to the unit and punch in some numbers on the keypad because you won't find your around the options.

Read the reviews and despite the issues with the really hard to see keypad, we wanted the larger oven with the rounded back interior, and overall, there are not a lot of options in mid-size countertop microwaves. We unpacked the first one, removing all of the plastic wrap (a tedious task), and it did not work. Bad magnetron. Ordered a replacement; after a few weeks, the sensor cooking system failed. I had purchased the extra warranty, but even though LG said it has to be replaced, Best Buy said they would have to send it for repair and would only replace it if it could not be fixed (I 'returned' said warranty). Next I called LG, and they approved a replacement so I ordered it again; uploaded the documentation on the LG site, and they sent a check right away; one positive is that their customer service was great. It has been about 6 weeks and so far so good. I like the esthetics, the interior size...but don't like the keypad (it is hard to see, so I have memorized where the buttons are), and the sensor undercooks potatoes, frozen veggies, fresh veggies. Oh well. We use mostly to reheat and cook microwavable foods so it suffices. But overall not impressed. My 13-year old Kenmore that we replaced (and is now in my office at work) works better and is more accurate. But we updated the kitchen to stainless and so we decided to "upgrade" the microwave too. They truly don't make things they way they used to. But as I say, options are limited in this price range so if you are willing to put up with a less than perfect appliance, the cost-benefit ratio might make the purchase worthwhile.

Wish I'd bought the extended warranty

This is a beautiful microwave. We loved it. We purchased it along with a lot of other appliances that we bought when we built our new house. We went ahead and paid for an extended warranty on the more expensive appliances that we purchased but not the microwave, thinking that it was only $200 and we were sure it would last long enough to pay for itself. We bought it thinking we could put tons of stuff in it if we wanted to but we never did put anything in there other than a paper plate or a cup of water so consequently it turned out to be a large microwave for nothing. It worked great, like a dream until we'd had it just two months past the one year warranty at which time everything went horribly wrong. It started telling us that the door was ajar when it wasn't. Other times we would push START and walk away and the microwave would stop. We would walk back, push start again and then it would stop. We played a miserable game of "push start over and over again until it decides to go ahead and heat our food". It did this intermittently so we didn't know if we could take it to the repair shop and if it would do it while it was there. This instigated several arguments between my husband and I. I called the unhelpful phone number on the back of the microwave and they told us to take it to the repair shop because they would not cover anything as it was past the one-year warranty. I was told that there might be some parts covered but she could not tell me which ones. And so we continued our miserable game with the microwave until one fateful night when my husband got frustrated with it telling him the door was ajar. In his frustration he slamed the door one too many times and the glass broke out. We might try the Samsung microwave in a slightly smaller cubic feet, and we will be definitely purchasing the extended warranty. Apparently LG believes that their microwave only has to last one year. In my opinion that's a lot of money for one year's use.

I purchased a slightly smaller version of this microwave about 2 years ago to replace one that just up and quit. I like it so much that a few months ago I bought this mid-size version for a second home. I DID research many other brands as well, but chose this one for the overall package of style, function, ease of use, price ... just couldn't beat it. I love the interior of this one, being a kind of gray slate color and so easy to clean. Also love that it beeps to remind me I left something in there when it finished it's cycle. I tend to forget because I get busy with something else and walk away. Love that it reminds me until I take the item out.

We had to replace our old Microwave even though it was still working great after 17yrs. The back corners were badly rusted due to the difficulty of keeping them clean and dry. The paint finally flaked off the back corners so no matter how well you dried the corner, moisture would penetrate the rust.
We found most of the micro-ovens with the power and features we wanted were way to big to fit our cabinet,
We absolutely lucked-out when we found this LG oven! It has plenty of power, lots of handy features and best of all, ROUND rear corners and stainless steel interior; it's a dream to clean!! Top that off with a large interior and turntable and it's literally everything we wanted!!! AND, it fits perfectly into our cabinet.
We bought it for a great price; about 1/3 of what we paid for our old oven,
so I have no idea if it will last anywhere near as long as our old micro, but for now, we are lovin' it!!

i've only owned this for about a month but I like it. It's easy to use - meaning I didn't need a geek degree to figure out how to use it. It has plenty of power & fits into my cabinetry very well. My previous microwave was big & this one takes even the big platters I used in the old microwave. I don't cook a lot of things in my microwave, mostly hors d'oeuvres, but I do use it to zap pre-prepared dishes for parties & to reheat leftovers. It works great and the price was right. I've never purchased an LG product before. This is my first but probably not my last.

We have been switching our home appliances over to LG for about the past three years. Not intentionally but it just seems to work out that way and we have learned to trust the brand.
This microwave follows two identical Panasonic ones that had features we liked but couldn't last more than a few years. The LG model is spacious with 1.5 cubic feet which works nice for steaming damp towels before a massage.
The design of the control panel comes from a different mind set than we are used to and I really miss the quick minute button. It may take a while to learn new ways to auto cook some of your favorite dishes. To do our hot oatmeal we have to tweak the auto cook setting by ten seconds to keep the boil from over flowing. There is no auto #1 setting. You have to start on #2 then hit the less button a few times to time it just right.
Overall we love it and enjoy not having to slam the door like the last Panasonic.
We also wish the control panel was brighter or more contrasting in our kitchen now lit with CFL and LED lighting.
It seems to be a well built unit and I think we will be using it for a long time.
