We purchased the LMV1680ST oven as part of our kitchen remodel from BestBuy on 7/2008. The oven worked as expected for 20 months. Then one morning, one number in the key pad was not responsive and the microwave function not working. Upon inspection, it turned out that a relay, brand OEG part number OMIF-S-112LM, MELTED or TOOK FIRE on the motherboard. We are replacing the oven with a Zephyr over-the-range hood rated at 850 CFM and buying the extended 5 year warranty.

The microwave looks fine, but I am still surprised at how loud it is. I wish I would have tried it out before we installed it.

I only have one complaint on the microwave, the buttons! They are cheesy and hokey, something you would see on a $99 special. LG could have done better with this, but I am more focused on its function. Performance and heating is fine, has timers, clock, light, fan with adjustable high/low with turntable. I don't think there's much else a microwave could have that's necessary.

We bought this to match our other appliances. We didn't worry much about reviews or "features" for the least expensive of our new appliances. It's about as noisy as our last microwave. No worse. No better. In an ideal world there would be a bigger fan-speed difference between "hi" and "lo" but frankly, we don't use the hood fan feature very often. I really like the "melt" and "soften" settings for dealing with butter. Ya, we could've spent more money for a more upscale microwave but this one looks good, has a nice sturdy door handle, and reheats my coffee.

i bought last year's version of this microwave (LG-1.6 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave-Stainless-Steel-LMV1630ST) on september 1, 2007. it worked well while it was under warranty. but recently i've started having problems. first, the door doesn't always shut properly. i have to open & shut the door one or more times for the microwave to realize the door is shut. of course the microwave won't start when it thinks the door is open. been dealing with this for about 6 weeks now. more recently, the turntable intermittenly doesn't turn when i begin to cook something -- almost like a belt is loose or not catching. i personally think a microwave should hold up better -- especially since it's only 15 months old. this is the first LG appliance i've ever bought & will probably be the last.

the rotating tray is relatively loud, doesn't seem roll smoothly. Cooks well, seems to be even and true.

Bought refrigerator, range, dishwasher and microwave. All have required service under warranty and after expiration of warranty. Their customer service rep does not stand behind the appliances. After warranty period the appliances are costing me big bucks!!

This microwave is pretty standard except that it sounds like a wind tunnel in my house when I turn on the fan. It is seriously the loudest noise I have ever heard. I have no complaints about all my other kitchen appliances which are LG - but they need to work on making this less noisy.

multiple quick start buttons, easy to operate, two level range light is nice, vent-a-hood feature is loud. overall good upgrade froma microwave that takes up counter space.

We got the microwave along with other matching appliances about one month ago and they all look really nice together. The only issue that we have is that it is louder than we thought it would be when it is on.

Great microwave. I enjoy all the special settings and the "cheat sheet" of how to use them inside the door. "Soften" is my fave! I also like the 3-way light setting. I wish it was 1/2 inch taller.

This is a low end over the stove microwave and it is great at being what it is. If you want something that really bakes, etc., then get an upgraded one. I only use a microwave for frozen dinners, popcorn, re-heating, etc. It is great at all those things. Easy to use, easy to install if you are as patient about such things as my husband is. It does not make any unexpected noise and it looks wonderful in my kitchen. I could not ask for more from this little appliance.

I've never owned new appliances. I finally saved up and remodeled my whole kitchen. I've never been happier until my microwave quit working after 3 months. Under the warranty, I had it serviced which took two weeks. After that everything was fine until a month later it broke again. The main heating element called the magnetron kept going out. Another two weeks in the repair shop. They just came over today installed it once again. At this this point I was NOT surprised to fine out that it still DID NOT work?? It was installed for a whole minute before the installers had to take it out and go "service" it again. To make things worse LG customer service had only ONE repair on record and refuses to just replace the whole thing. Did I mention that as of today I still don't have a microwave in my kitchen. BUY SOMETHING ELSE!!!!!!

This was the worst microwave ever, door is loose and stops on it's own. I bought this when I started building my house. It was on sale and thought I would give LG a try. Bad decision. It was bad out of the box and LG says I waited too long and it was not covered under the warranty. The LG refer is less than perfect, ice builds up around freezer seal. I am going back to Whirlpool or GE

This is very poorly designed product. It took 1/2 day to install because it is not a good design and the brackets. I had GE OTR microwave that I was replacing which was such a breeze to install and this one was a piece of junk. Not only that after 2 weeks of use, the microwave quit working. When I called LG they sent a repairmen and he said they have to replace the panel and the microwave heating unit (there is a special term for it). I should have read earlier reviews and should not have bought this unit. I would strongly advise anyone NOT to buy this or any other LG product.

It's a 1000W appliance and it's surprising that the 100 less Watts (the majority of other microwaves have 1100 watts that we looked at) would cause it to take an extra 40 seconds to cook 4 pieces of bacon (from 2:20 minutes to 3:00). Door hinge is really noisy when opening and closing.

Got a great deal! Works great so far. I've had it up for a month and it's working like it should.

We bought this one when our other microwave died on us. It has a lot of options on it, easy to use and price was excellent. Reviews were mixed, but it has worked great for us so far. The ventilation system isn't the best. I would vent any microwave to outside if possible.

Wish I could give it zero stars -- this product is horrible. It has required service 11 times in the past 21 months. And the problems have not just been with one part of the microwave. It's had bad electronics, bad insulation, a faulty door...the list goes on and on. Don't buy this terrible product.

Fully featured and stylish microwave for a great price. I am concerned about the door latching mechanism because of the amount of use it will get at my house and it is a manually latching device that may wear over time.
