Interior Light Fails, Repair Cost is Massive

After less than 18 months the interior light failed. This is a common problem. The replacement costs less than $20, but to replace it requires removing the unit from the wall and opening the entire box. A big-deal DIY project. For a pro to do it costs more than $300-400. For this reason can't recommend.

Prior to this, we had a Maytag that stopped working. The width and depth allows us to heat larger portions of food for our large family. I like the soft lighting inside.

Thanks to BB return policy we had to contact LG to file a warranty claim. A week later it was fixed. The repair tech said this model has a faulty switch in the latch. He also recommended not opening the door while it was cooking; instead stop the cooking with the bother open the door.
