The functions are fine but there are way too many options and after a month I'm still figuring out how to make some of the functions work - even with help from the manual. Would have liked something simpler,

Internal light blew within few months on over the range microwave model: MVEM1721F. You can’t replace it without removing the oven, it’s so complicated. It’s still under warranty so LG agreed to send technician and send parts in timely manner. The first visit was made per schedule but technician didn’t do anything giving excuse of his health. He didn’t show up at next appointment and since then no response from him on text or email. The automated LG customer service gives kind words but doing no actual help. I am so disappointed with the product design and LG customer service.
Hi, Tim. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Microwave (MVEM1721F) model. We understand facing a design issue that requires professional service for something as simple as a light replacement, especially when service visits have been unreliable.
For this model, one helpful step is to avoid attempting a self‑repair, since the internal light is integrated into the microwave cavity and requires disassembly that can expose high‑voltage components. You can explore more product‑specific support resources here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-MVEM1721F. If you’d like us to assist further with your case and help coordinate warranty service, please send us an email at [email protected]. We're here for you! ^Juvy

LG Products always stands out. Item was delivered on time and it was easy to mount.
Hi, Daniel. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Microwave (MVEM1721F) model. We understand how important it is for your unit to heat efficiently and for the internal light to function properly.
One helpful step you can try is to test the microwave’s heating performance by placing a cup of water inside and running it for 2 minutes. If the water does not heat adequately, this can indicate an issue with the magnetron or power supply. For more help, visit https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-microwave-why-is-my-microwave-not-heating-properly--20153229630502. For the light, the bulb may need replacement, which is serviceable on this model. If you need further assistance, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can continue supporting you directly. ^Juvy

If you wanna microwave that works with heating stuff up under five minutes this is the microwave for you. If you want to do a baked potato or two baked potatoes and you have to run it for nine minutes more longer or if you’re trying to heat up a Pyrex of water to boil that this microwave is not for you this microwave likes to shut down when it overheats I have invented properly and I’m outside of my return window so I’m stuck with it
Hi, Michael. Thank you for sharing your experience with the LG Microwave (MVEM1721F) model. We appreciate you letting us know about the heating performance and the unit shutting down when it overheats.
For this model, one helpful step is to check the ventilation clearance around the microwave. Ensure there is at least 4 inches of space on the sides and top, and that the rear is not blocked, as restricted airflow can cause overheating and automatic shutdown. You can also try running the unit on shorter intervals when cooking items that require longer heating, allowing the microwave to cool between cycles. More guidance is available here: https://www.lg.com/us/support/help-library/lg-microwave-oven-troubleshooting-no-power-issue--1429709038316. If the issue continues after adjusting ventilation and usage, please send us an email at [email protected] so we can support you directly. ^Juvy

Difficult to read the touchpad commands. Other than that it works great.

Not all heating options listed on the door and manual are functional. The 2 speed fan is very loud for the flow rate (it does have rear, top or front venting options).
Generally a reasonable microwave.
