got this unit partly because it was supposed to be quiet, it isn't. also it failed within three months has been down for a week already and no idea when lg will have the parts to their repair person. told 3-5 days from order, lg says they are backordered. at best by the time we have a working unit again will be close to two weeks. other than apologies lg doesn't offer much help. should have gone through geek squad but the unit died on a weekend when they were closed so went to lg direct.

We bought this fridge around August 2016, 2 years on or so we noticed milk was no longer cold and it’s now fully given up the ghost.
Now out of warranty we got a repairman over who cleaned out the coils etc but rs not helped and it’s now not cooling at all.
We picked LG over a Kitchen aid model we preferred due to reliability concerns with the Kitchenaid, sadly on looking for any fixes for this fridge, it seems that many other owners are having similar issues with LG.
Won’t be buying an LG fridge again

LG failure, zero support for the warranty

This thing quit cooling after about a year. It was under warranty. Called LG. They supposedly scheduled a service call. That person never showed up (I waited two weeks for the appt). Called them back and they indicated they could not send anyone out. No explanation. Called locally and no-one would come out and look at an LG. I'm sure this had the compressor issue. I evidently just missed the first class action lawsuit. I ended up buying a new refrigerator from another manufacture after living with a mini fridge for a month during this entire mess. Took it to the landfill and deposited it. No more LG for me.

I scoured reviews of counter depth fridges before purchasing this one. I like the functionality of the freezer handle that pulls up when you open it. Delivery was seamless and it's easy to clean. A few months in, the water in the door was dripping and while fixing it, it seems flimsy and like it could happen again but no issues since. The water filters are a little pricey so shop around for the best price.

In 2015 we replaced all the appliances in our kitchen with LG products. The refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher have been repaired previously and today I await the repair person to come to fix the refrigerator and dishwasher AGAIN. I gave up on the microwave because I didn’t want to take off work anymore, so it’s been broken for a couple of years now. I am SO thankful we bought the extended warranty but that’s about to expire and then what will we do? The oven has not broken...yet.
The refrigerator stopped cooling last Monday and I lost all the food in my refrigerator and freezer. I came home to a puddle on the floor and both freezer and refrigerator compartment full of soggy inedible food. Water was running down from the water dispenser
( the ice maker was defrosting and that’s why it was leaking). I had to buy a small refrigerator in the meantime because I didn’t want to keep buying bags of ice and dealing with a cooler. Extended warranty or not, this has been a costly choice for us.
The dishwasher is another review but it’s not draining or drying. We bought these appliances because of the rave reviews and Consumer Reports ratings but I’m reviews can be bought, can’t they? I no longer trust LG or Consumer Reports recommendations.

Pros and Cons

I've had this fridge for about a year now. There are some pros and cons, but I think for the price its a really solid fridge.
For the first 9 months or so, I would have given this a solid 5 stars. But lately, there have been a few things that have me worried, so I'm downgrading to 4 stars.
PROS: Huge interior space, super easy to organize, super convenient, temperature stays consistent and cold.
CONS: These have only popped up in the last few months, but the fridge has started to get ice around the gaskets in the door (I just break the ice off, and it seems to be OK), and yesterday the water from the door was stuck on for like a minute before I could figure out how to get it to turn off. Water got all over my floor.

I have purchased all LG appliances for my new house 4 years ago HUGE MISTAKE. I purchased the extended warranty for all of them. The fridge I got rid of after 4 service calls. The stove we purchased the knobs are so touchy we had to place knob protectors on each knob. I called the repair tech he said they are touchy but we can't do anything. My dryer wouldn't dry my clothes. I called the repair tech, after 2 visits they sent me a check saying they can't do anything.
My dishwasher constantly stinks it does a crappy job drying the dishes. Please do not purchase!!!!!!!!!

Bought this fridge in March 2015 during a kitchen remodel. It stopped working just 7 months later in September. LG's customer service could not have been worse and left us without a working fridge for a week. Gping a week without a fridge is annoying if you are an adult who is gone all day, but as a mom with 2 kids under 2 who need to drink milk throughout the day is an absolute nightmare. LG do not care about their customers and it shows through their inept and lazy attitude towards customer service.

I read tons of reviews of various refrigerators before purchasing this one. It came down to this LG model and a similar Samsung model. We went with LG in the end because we were advised by that the LG had less ice maker issues than Samsung.
I am so happy with this LG refrigerator. We have had this refrigerator for about a year and a half now. We have had no issues with the ice maker. I love how it is in the door and doesn't take up any fridge space (it takes up valuable fridge space in the Samsung models). It makes plenty of ice. Granted, it is just me and my husband, but we have had no ice shortages when we've had company over either. If you need more ice for a party, it has an ice plus feature that is great for making more ice faster, and you can store it in the bin in the freezer as a reserve.
The stainless steel is beautiful, but it does smudge/show fingerprints very easily. This goes with any stainless steel though, and is not specific to just LG. If you are worried about smudges/fingerprints, check out the black stainless steel product line that just came out. It's beautiful and smudges a lot less! I was admiring it at the store the other day, and I think we will choose black stainless steel when we replace our oven/stove, microwave, and dishwasher.
My complaints:
The counter-depth does cause the drawers to be very small. This is my one disappointment. But again, this is with all counter-depth models, not just LG. Any brand I looked at had the same problem. The drawers are still useful though.
For the most part, this refrigerator is very quiet. It stayed that way for about a year. Then, it started making a clicking sound. This ended up being a fan issue, which apparently is common to this LG model. Luckily, we had purchased the Geek Squad 5 yr protection plan and had it fixed. The protection plan was very easy to use and hassle free. My husband and I both agree it was well worth the extra $175!
Overall, this fridge is great. I am so happy with it. Would definitely recommend, even with our fan issue. With all of my research on fridges prior to purchasing, it seems that any fridge breaks easily these days (sadly). The only thing I would do differently: buy it in the black stainless steel ... so pretty and no fingerprints!

BUYER BEWARE!! I bought Model LFXC24726 French Door Refrigerator in 2016. April 2019 it stopped working. As of today I still have no working fridge. Almost 6 weeks without a fridge. Let that nightmare sink in for a minute. And we are nowhere near a solution. Even if everything went perfectly from here on out I would only get a "buy back" aka partial refund and it would July 4th before I saw that money. (and things aren't going perfectly so I am without a fridge all summer possibly) LG is not helpful at all - their service repair center for my area has to been to my house 5 times and has said it is not repairable BUT LG wants to continue to fix it. Unacceptable - I have been patient and done everything LG & the repair provider has asked of me (like taking off from work 5 times!!) - at this time I am wanting to move forward on the basis of UNREASONABLE amount of time with a fridge but NOOOOO they want to keep on with this repair charade. Just a way to continue to give the consumer the middle finger! Does anyone care that the fridge is the heart of a kitchen? I lost hundreds of dollars of groceries when it went out and have been living out of coolers ever since. LG has a class action lawsuit against them for these defective fridges so BUYER BEWARE!! Definitely google and get some outside research before buying. Check out the 3,100 complaints on the Better Business Bureau's site. Best Buy quit selling these crap fridges! LG = Life's NOT Good!!

Should have bought the Kitchenaid. Defrost issue

5 months into this product and I've had to throw so many vegetables because it freezes in the glide and serve tray. Finally one day find out the display showing r & dh codes on the refrigerator. Called LG and was told the defroster tried to defrost and quit after 1 hr.. Solution.. unplug the fridge and problem solved.. really? Called back and was passed on to smart diagnostic team, who did the smart diagnostic over the phone.. Everything is working fine.. I kept insisting that there is problem and I would like to have a technician come over.. He comes over 3 days later and first thing is that this fridge does not have an updated defrosting software. Apparently this model has problems defrosting for refrigerators manufactured between July and December 2014 according to the technician..So LG knew about this but did nothing to reach out and fix this issue and when I called the first thing they should have mentioned based on the serial number is that there is a problem with the defrosting software. Only when I insisted on having a technician come out, did they fix the problem. Do yourself a favor and buy another brand.

Faulty ice dispenser

The style of this refrigerator is nice, and it is one of the limited counter depth options out there. But my personal experience is quite disappointing.
After one year of ownership, and subsequently an expired warranty, the ice dispenser stopped working properly. Big chunks of ice form in the chute that freeze together, blocking ice from exiting properly. I tried removing the ice holder and breaking up the ice in the chute like Kristoff in Frozen, but it inevitably always reforms.
I have had two different technicians come take a look and they cannot come up with a viable solution. The ice maker still makes ice, but instead of just pushing the chute I have to grab the ice old school with my hands from the ice box, which is not readily accessible.
It is not as big of an issue as world hunger, but in the greater scheme of things when you spend upwards of $3000 plus for a refrigerator one would expect that it works like it is supposed to. Unfortunately, for me and my family, that hasn't been the case with this refrigerator.

I Bought the unit in march 2015, 2 years and 1/2 worked nicely,. then the refrigerator and freezer both stopped cooling November 22 2017...the technician said was the control board we bought the control board $250 didn't work... the repair man said was the compressor and the fan more then $600 plus what we have to paid to the repair man, we didn't fix the refrigerator why to paid so much money ...my Husband and I we are so disappointed with our LG refrigerator....DON'T BUY THIS ONE

I bought this Fridge from Best Buy on 11/25/2016 and It stopped working last week. I had throw away all my food.
The light is on but its not cooling and I have been told the compressor needs to be change. I payed over $3000 for this fridge and in a year it started to have problems. Extremely Unreliable Product from LG Company.
I have been calling LG company every day asking them to expedite the repairs because I have little children at home and it's very difficult to be without food specially during the Holidays and LG is telling me it takes time for the parts to come in.

Nice counter-depth frig, and ice maker in the door does save space. Love the ice dispenser, which has an LED light so you can see how much ice is going into an opaque container like an insulated mug. HOWEVER, I am VERY VERY disappointed in how noisy this appliance is. It runs 90% of the time, which I hear is normal for new refrigerators, but the constant hum / whine of it is very noticeable in an open-concept house, so much so that when it isn't running, the silence is actually eerie. I cannot recommend this product.

I bought this fridge a year ago and have never been so disappointed. I’ve had LG technicians in fixing it every few months and the compressor always breaks, the freezer stops working, water all over the floor, ice machine stopped working. The last fridge we owned worked perfect for 20 years and this one can’t even last through the warranty!!! NEVER BUYING AN LG FRIDGE AGAIN and the customer service is HORRIBLE!!!!! This whole purchase has been a nightmare. Don’t buy one.

Stay away from LG. My fridge was unreliable and LG does not stand by their products. The compressor died just short of the warranty period. They replaced it but the brand new replacement compressor did not even last 10 months and they refused to back their part. That's 2 compressors in less than 6 years. The fridge is clearly built to be disposable.
*** Revised review: LG support reached out via my review and after quite a bit of back and forth they sent a technician who tested the evaporator coils (fine) and replaced the compressor. The 3rd compressor failed within 10 days. The fridge did not last 6 years.

Bought new in 2016, came home after vacation and tried calling all 3 authorized service provide within 50 miles of us and 2 other repair places no one wanted to even look at it. I can only assume that since it is not cooling and from other reviews that the compressor is out.
Buying a new fridge and it will not be an LG. Wasted so much time and money on this purchase. I'm astonished that LG is still pedaling these as refrigerators. Boat anchor is more like it.

Most undependable refrigerator I have ever had. Needed to replace compressor after 2 years, and service was terrible. It's now 4 years old and the ice maker and water dispenser quit working. Will never purchase another like this.
