Do Not Buy for PC or SD content

4k and 2k content on PS5 look great, input lag is great at 120 hz for eSports games as well. However, it seems LG couldn't care less about any other use case. Upscaling from 1080p sources to 4k is horribly noisy and blurry -- movies and videos look terrible. SD gaming (Nintendo switch) is also very blurry compared to other much cheaper 4k TVs. If you use this TV as a PC monitor, expect to live with text and image color fringing and overall bad text clarity. This is my first ever LG TV, and I will not be buying another one.

Hello, Dude. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your feedback on the OLED42C4PUA and understand your concerns regarding upscaling and text clarity. While 4K and 2K content perform optimally, upscaling from 1080p sources may vary depending on the content and settings. Adjusting the picture mode and enabling features like Filmmaker Mode can help improve clarity. We’d love to assist you further—please send us a private message via @LGUSSupport, and our team will be happy to explore possible solutions. We appreciate your patience. —Junel LG

I have been a Samsung TV person for years. I purchased this LG because the features appeared better than Samsung's 43-inch. Was I ever wrong. LG stands for Literally Garbage. Don't waste your money on LG TVs. I am going back to purchasing Samsung TVs.

Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We recognize the importance of your LG TV (OLED42C4PUA) meeting your expectations. Incorrect settings can affect viewing quality. A common fix for picture issues is a picture reset. To do this, go to the Settings menu, then Support (or General), and find OLED Care or Picture Test/Self-Diagnosis. Running the Picture Test can help identify if the problem lies with the TV or external settings. You can also reset picture settings to the default in the Picture menu. “Magic Remote” ???

The “magic remote “ is absolutely the least favorite thing that I ever purchased. I’m sure that LG has some reason for the technology involved in viewing their television but it is a very touchy and a difficult remote to operate. I’ll soon purchase a replacement remote to simplify the operation of the television.

Hi, Bernard. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the magic remote with your LG TV (OLED42C4PUA) model. We appreciate your feedback and understand the importance of having a remote that feels intuitive and easy to use. The Magic Remote offers multiple ways to control the TV, including using the directional pad and the center scroll wheel, which can be an alternative to using the pointer function. You can try navigating menus and apps this way to see if it provides a more stable experience for you. If you’d like further assistance or help selecting the best option, feel free to email us at [email protected]. We're here to support your LG experience every step of the way. ^Juvy LG

Im sure the TV is great, but it didnt come with legs. I chatted with Best Buy ,only to be told to go to the store. I drove an hour to get to a store, only to be told to call the 1888 number. I then called the 1888 number, only be told to go back into the store.

The best monitor for your Mac in 2025.

This is a OLED with 4k pixel density, would I rather have 6k? Yes, but that doesn't exist and this monitor at 4k is still the best viewing experience in the business for the price (I lucked out and got mine for under $800). I use this with MacBook Pro M4 Max, the display auto wakes and sleeps directly plugged into the MacBook's HDMI port it also runs at 120hrtz. Will it burn-in? Probably eventually, but life's too short to not enjoy such a rich monitor experience right now. I highly recommend pairing this monitor with "BetterDisplay" software for MacOS it's free download online it will allow you configure the scaling of the resolution and override the brightness limiter that's built into LG software. I also recommend "Huanuo Heavy Duty Monitor Arm" + "VIVO Steel VESA LCD LED TV Mount Adapter Plate Bracket" or... you can just use the monitor legs it comes with, but using the monitor arm will allow you can push it further back on your desk increasing the visible PPI density. I rarely leave reviews, but I had to for this 42" oled monitor treat yourself if you're sitting at your desk 8+ hours a day your eyes will thank you!

Best overall TV I’ve ever owned

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This is easiest one of the best overall tv’s on the market right now. I’ve owned a Panasonic plasma and LCD’s, it doesn’t get much better than a LG OLED. I’ve always struggled to find a display that I’m content with. My eyes literally have a mind of their and won’t stop complaining. This television silenced those complaints almost instantly. I primarily watch movies and game on mine. You get the best picture quality and input latency with this television. Combined with the price it just simply can’t be beat. One small note though, gaming monitors do have a much better response time. I also owned a LG gaming monitor and the response time is unreal. It’s just absolutely not worth the inaccurate image. Other than that, do yourself a favor and impulse buy this bad boy and throw in the back of the car.

LG is still the OLED king

Back in 2014, I bought one of the first LG OLEDs, and it is still going strong. Nothing matches the picture quality. Colors are bright, crisp, and vivid. They’re not cheap, but if you want the best visual experience, then look no further.
