I bought this 55LH575A on the Cyber Monday Sale after reading the generally positive reviews and seeing it at a great price and in stock at a store near me. The TV has a reasonable number of HDMI/AV/USB/WiFi/Ethernet Port/Optical Audio inputs only (no output ports) and came well packed and free of physical damage. Setup was relatively simple but user instructions (hardcopy) were minimal and almost useless. The remote control is awful - dirt cheap design and manufacturing which immediately disappointed and frustrated me. I had to go online to get a decent user manual which subsequently I discovered was also available on the TV once I hooked WiFi/Ethernet to my network. The LG TV's on-screen menu is convoluted, archaic and very, very limited in options even when compared to my 6 year old plasma Samsung 55" 1080 which by the way has a proper and great remote control. The LG picture quality is acceptable but the lack of fine tuning really detracts and limits you to the run of the mill Standard, Vivid, etc. which aren't always exactly what you may want. The Smart TV features and channels are the worse and very, very limited - more upsetting is that the quality of the playback is generally awful when compared to my ROKU. For some unexplained reason LG's Netflix audio and video was out of sync and extremely distracting. I tried the connection both wired and wireless only to get the same results and then again separately using HDMI on my ROKU which finally played perfect therefore rendering the Smart connectivity useless and having paid extra for a feature I'll never use. I also looked for a firmware update at LG.com hoping that'll do the trick, but the only one available was the same as the one already installed. For these reasons I rate this TV "2 star" and more so when I placed it side by side with the 6 year old Samsung 1080 plasma 55" which has a better picture amazingly enough. On the upside, the LG has great sound and the USB port input works spectacularly well running all types of music, video and picture files - one of the best USB ports I've used on any TV and we own several brands. Overall this is a budget (and I mean "budget") HDTV and if you're able to get it below $350 may serve its purpose. Overall I don't recommend it and for a few dollars more you can be happy with a Samsung in this range.

I bought this TV for my mom about a year ago and she loves it. It's slim and the picture is clear. She hung it on the wall and it looks great. I would definitely recommend.

I bought this tv for $349, it is a really nice tv, good sound and looks very thin and stunning. Like an art piece in your living room.
But this is not a good tv any more: here is the reason
1. The refresh rate is just 60hz -I thought it should not be a big deal, but to my surprise the Vizio D series with 120hz has much better and very visible difference in video quality. So going for a 120hz tv is defenitly a better choice. If u r a sports lover then this tv is really bad for you.
2. The smart tv interface is full of great apps but the interface sucks big time. Use your roku , chromcast or Apple TV instead . This is not a let down for sure but just a little too much to get around.
3. The remote is soo bad , really hard to get used to. But again this should not be a big deal because we all have our xfinity remotes that works with this tv.
If it is a 2014, this is probably the best tv you can get for the cost. But it's almost 2017 and this tv has thechnology that's obsolete and there are a lot of other choices for almost the same cost. If you see this tv on a very low cost for thanks giving , Christmas and new year sale - its because of the outdated technology it's loaded with.
I love LG , the panel and picture quality is great - but say no to this tv, because u have soo many better choices for the same cost. Make sure you check the refresh rate of the tv u buy, no matter what brand - if it's below 120hz don't buy- u will thank me if you have a chance to compare tv with 60hz vs 120hz. ( they have not mentioned it's 60hz any where in the advertisement - that's because they don't want to be explicit on that)
Happy holidays!!
Peace out !!!!

We had a smaller samsung in our pool house that worked well for about a year before getting flaky. we figured it was the environment and went ahead with the purchase of this 55". Worked great for 21 days then the same problem as our smaller set. worked with the geek squad for resolution. looks like a power board. maybe it's a fluke - i don't know but i won't buy another samsung; it's just too much money to have something that doesn't work.

Great TV. No problems with it so far. Picture is great, has plenty of options to customize, and getting Netflix/Hulu accounts set up is easy. Only thing which I was not aware of was that the tv does NOT have composite outputs. My Bose system has only R/W composite cables and only output on this tv is digital out. So have to buy a converter, but not a big deal. Overall I'm happy with it.

The only issue I experienced so far is power turn on issues sometimes. A number of times I have to unplug and plug the power to turn on the TV. I may have to return this TV if this issue continues.

Broken TV's and Broken Customer Service

I purchased this TV during Best Buy's Black Friday sale. It was delivered to the house because I don't have a vehicle large enough to transport it properly. I installed the TV and, when I turned it on, there was obviously something wrong with the picture. I called the Geek Squad and described the symptoms. The technician said there was something damaged internally and he helped me set up an exchange. When the new TV arrived, the delivery men brought it up to the master bedroom where it was going to be installed. As soon as I opened the box, I observed impact damage to the top left corner of the TV and a cracked
screen in the same area. I immediately called customer service and was told that they could only arrange one TV exchange and instructed me to return the broken TV to the store. I explained that I didn't have a vehicle large enough to properly transport the broken TV and the supervisor at the call center said he couldn't do anything to help me. He told me to call the local Best Buy store and seek resolution there. I called my local store - Seattle Northgate Store - and was told that I would be contacted by the store manager. The manager never called back.

TV is very nice as far as size and picture. But because of the problems with the HDMI ports I wouldn't recommend this TV. I have not had my tv for a full 24 hours and none of the two HDMI ports will work. And searching online this is a huge LG problem! I will never buy a LG tv again! And the remote sucks!

We have had this TV for not even three months before the screen went completely out on it. We contacted LG and explain to them what happened they refused to stand behind this product even after the technician whom they sent out to my house said that it was in fact manufacturer flaw and nothing that we did. Do not purchase this TV it is a waste of money and LG is will not stand behind their products I will never purchase another LG product again buyer beware. Lg customer service was by far one of the worst experiences i have had. It was ridiculous.

I was so excited to buy this tv and ive done research on other tv's and this was the best for the brand and price. but after 2 MONTHS that i got it . the HMDI port messed up. I connected my HDMI to the port and after i wanted to use another device I disconnected this HDMI and installed my fire stick . But then my HDMI was not there anymore. The input snapped from inside the TV and I could not connect it anymore. I gave Geek Squad a call they said that this was physical damage. I called LG and they told me the same thing. Really would someone do this to their own tv? However , none of them want to do something about the problem . Piece of ***t TV!

This tv lost its picture after 3.5 years. Was told by Best Buy it was likely lightening that caused it. The sound is perfect--not lightening. Further online investigation suggests many have had the same issue with LG TV's. Won't ever buy another one.
