first I would like to mention that it I love this TV the only issue I have is that I could not see this TV before I bought it because my local best buy did not have it displayed. but I bought it solely on my experience with LG products (2 LG LCD tv 36"/42") . Being skeptical of buying a plasma tv with LCD and LED being "newer" technology I bought it solely for its value and brand. after setting up the TV i was told to let the TV settle for 1 hour in the vertical position because I had to lay it down to ship. after the longest hour of my life I plugged it in and was pleasantly surprised by the sharp clarity of the picture and beautiful screen. I can't say much about the sound because I run all my components thru a surround system and dont use the speakers. All in all dont be scared to buy a plasma in 2012 even though its been out for many years LG seems to have just taken that extra time to master a beautiful picture in a nice slim package...

It's a big TV for the low price tag. You give up the latest and greatest features with the lacking 3D and Smart features but not everyone wants them. Ours is mounted in a living room with a large picture window and lots of natural light. Is the "glare" really as big an issue? No. Amazing how quickly people forget.. how long have we all lived with regular old glass tube TVs? Is it the perfect ideal set up for the ultimate home theater? No. Are you getting a great TV with a huge screen for a bargain? absolutely. My girlfriend was on board when she saw the price initially. But after I got it home and she saw the size of the box I got what I am sure lots of guys have heard from significant others. "Do we REALLY need a TV THAT big?" Of course not, but after it was up on the wall and we had watched a few HD movies her mind was changed to "you know, it's kinda fun!" So overall for the average TV watcher I'd definitely recommend taking a look at this set

i got this tv for $799 and i'm thrilled with it. 60" of gloriousness! i really went back and forth in the store (for hours) between this 60" plasma or a 55" insignia LED. i went with the LG and i'm so glad i did. there IS a glare during the day, i can see my ceiling fan on it. but i tend to quickly forget about it as i watch tv. at night it's beautiful. i have not yet found the picture setting i love, but it's "good enough." i need to get out the book i think. people always comment on how nice it is when they see it. i love the thin "cabinet" around it. and i picked up an LG blue ray player for under $100 at the same time and WOW i love the way they work together. turn on the blue ray and the tv pops on by itself and changes the HDMI input to the player. i don't know anyone else who has a tv this nice for this price, for a name brand. i don't think you can possibly be disappointed in this tv for $799. i rated it "good" based on its merits, but i would say it is "excellent" for the price.

Always go for a plasma for my gaming. Got it hooked up to my computer as well. Cant beat a 60 inch computer monitor. No complaints on it so far. Looks awesome, menu is easy, lots of options, built in media player! Paid $800 for it, I feel like I stole it. Super thin like an LED as well! Speakers built in to the tv are surprisingly loud. Lots of plugs too! Deal cant be beat!

This plasma is great! Easy set-up. Beautiful picture! I have had a 55" Samsung plasma for a few years and this tops it! I have had this LG for about 2 months and I am completely satisfied. I have this run through a Yamaha receiver so I really don't use the LG speakers. Overall, this is a great buy for the money! The 600Mhz refresh rate is awesome! No more motion blur while I'm watching sports.

I have thoroughly enjoyed watching sports on this TV. It was everything I was looking for! The price was way under what I expected to pay for a TV of this quality. Great picture, sound is okay. I would recommend this TV to anybody that has a room that doesn't get a lot of natural light. I would definitely buy this TV again if I needed one.

I've had this tv for over a month now and I'm completely in love with it. The picture is great the sound is relatively good for a tv and we got it all at great price. The glass is a bit glossy but so during the day it can be a bit tough, however, nothing really beats the size and quality at the price we got it ($750 out the door)

Set this TV up in the living room, we have big open windows in the front room so there is a bit of glare with it being a plasma tv but besides that the tv is great. Was on sale and definitely filled out the room a bit better than the 47" tv that was in the same room. Overall I would recommend it in a darker room if possible but the glare isnt' so bad you can't watch tv. Great for sports also.

Although I have owned 2 previous plasma flat panels and was very happy with their performance, I spent a while trying to decide between the newer and more efficient LED/LCD big screen technologies and getting another plasma. The refresh rate for high speed sports as well as the more natural colors of the plasma made my decision and this TV does not disappoint with either!

Was looking for a new TV for our living room and wanted a 60". After hours of research between plasma and LED I finally decided on the 60" LG Plasma screen TV. Has a great picture and easy to set up for the low price of 999.99. I couldn't be more happy about this purchase.

This is a great TV at a great price. The viewing angle is excellent and the picture is great. The only issue is that if a light hits the TV it often reflects in the picture.

Love our LG Plasma 60" TV. We got a great deal...That being said -with Plasma (we were aware beforehand) there is the reflection issue on the screen..we just had to rearrange some lamps in our room. I am impressed with the sound on this. It doesn't "blare" sound...If I am in the next room I don't have to hear what my husband is watching yet the volume is perfect in the room with the tv. If I do want to hear it in the next room the sound quality is great too! The picture is clear, and there is a lot of picture size features and audio features. The remote and the menu is easy to use.

the LG 60 inch tv is awesome, the picture is clear & crisp. Its easy to run, was simple to hang on the wall. Sounds great with the surround sound we also bought from best buy. We bought it when it was on sale & the price was good!! The sales person was very helpful, he knew what cables we would need.

I absolutely love this television. I did a lot of research and finally decided on getting a plasma. I am very happy with this purchase. The picture quality is amazing and I the size of screen was perfect. I mostly use the television for watching sports and gaming. It is awesome for both. I am now sold on LG televisions and plan on buying another in the near future.

Our old set was getting tired & my wife was lobbying for a replacement. I did my due diligence research on the net & this one was well ranked. the customer service rep did a good job of clarifying the questions I had about set-up and we bought it with a Roku. After the set was installed, I had no problem adding the Roku... it was easy. We bought it just before the Olympics and noted no flicker or blurring even following the hockey puck. The colors are sensational and we love the really big screen!! Interestingly, after we purchased the set we discovered ou youngest son had purchased the same brand and same size before we did after having done the same due diligence. Great minds etc.

Recently visited Best Buy to purchase a 60 inch for the family room. We had originally decided to purchase a Samsung 60" plasma. While at best buy we previewed both the Samsung and LG. We decided the LG provided the best overall viewing experience for our needs. While the connection on the TV could be better located for wall mounting, we have thoroughly enjoyed overall visuals of the LG. Setup is a breeze and with the smart tuning the picture is amazing.

Great picture at a great price for a 60' tv. Easy to learn commands, no complaints..

Love this tv. It's so huge and has an amazing picture and can't beat the price.

We wanted to add a big screen in the basement. The accessories, like the BlueRay and the Wii have plenty of smarts, so a big screen with no frills was the objective. The LG is a great fit for us, very please. Screen is glossy, best in a darker area like your basement!! The purchase included delivery, which was great. They also removed the old tube that we had - that was exceptional (it was very heavy).

I got this television for my parents and they couldn't be happier. They didn't have an interest in internet connectivity so this was the perfect option and a great value. It's setup with a 5.1 surround size, so I can't comment on the audio, but the picture quality is great on a huge 60" screen. Definitely recommended.
