Customers are impressed with the exceptional picture quality, vibrant colors, and sharp details of the LG OLED C1 TV. They also appreciate its excellent gaming performance, with smooth and immersive gameplay. The OLED display is highly praised for its deep blacks and stunning visuals. While some find the remote control a bit difficult to operate and the TV to be on the expensive side, overall, customers are very satisfied with their purchase and consider it a great value for the price.

Very good picture. Don't like the sound. Sound is good but you have to turn it way up to hear compared to my last lg. Don't like the smart tv lay out too much stuff on screen.

I spoke for an hour with two customer service reps from LG trying to sort out a glltch, to no avail. The TV is not capable of a what seems like a simple feature: having the TV remote operate both the TV sound and connected LG sound bar. If you buy a sound bar, you may have to use either the TV sound or the sound bar, not both. If you use both, you will need to operate two remote controls, one for the TV sound and one for the sound bar: to change the volume, to mute, etc. If you are using the TV speakers only, you're fine. If you add a sound bar, even an LG sound bar, and choose to use the sound bar only for sound, the remote will operate the sound bar but this will disable the auto-adjust sound feature, which requires the TV speakers to be on. so you will need to change settings every time you change a channel! Ridiculous that they would even release a TV without these basic capabilities. I've had the TV for most of a month and am still playing with settings every time I watch TV. And, as I stated earlier, the LG trained reps couldn't get the thing to work properly either.

Could be Best TV ever

I typical do not do reviews but feel compelled to write this one as this TV is NOT worth buying and sadly was pulled in by the “Best gaming TV of 2021”. The display, hands down the best and most beautiful display that I have ever seen. That’s the end of the pros. The TV is ruined by the complicated, faulty S/W and force-fed content.
THE SETUP: LG C1 (“upgraded from Samsung”) with Sonos beam as eARC audio output, Xbox as HDMI input and Optical audio out for headsets for late night gaming.
The setup of the TV had to be YT’d as there were no directions on how to install the TV to the 2-part base. It was not your average pull out of box and slide onto stand. You have to attach the 2 pieces of the base and then slide the TV on. There were no obvious locations that showed how or where to attach the 2 pieces of the base. I small sheet of paper or section in the “handling” section of the manual would have been great.
Powering on: When going through the initial setup process you feel/guided/forced to install the LG app or create an account to setup your TV. This is to complex and fears of privacy are already high. I later found out that the app is useless and about the only thing its good for is turning on/off your TV and letting LG collect your data. After factory resetting my system due to eARC issues (more later) I very carefully managed to skip some of the issues of setting up an account and just using the “remote” to log in. I also did not accept many of the “select all” option on setup that reduced a small amount of clutter on the home screen. Finally, at the home screen you are presented 3 large sets of boxes on the top that waste space and no one cares about. One is Notifications, and they pretty much let me know that I was now using the TV and had set up an account. This makes me angry as I do not want a notification center on me TV. The second is weather, I again do not want to see weather on a large section of my home screen. The 3rd is search function that can also be easily accessed from the remote. I do not want any of that on my home screen but see why some would want it. At least give us the option to change it. Next row is a “trending now” row that is self-explanatory with some sponsored items thrown in here and there. I have Zero interest in “trending now” and would suggest the option to get rid of it, or rearrange the rows. The third row down and in the smallest tiles is the actual content that you want to watch something on your TV. These tiles are the apps that most will likely use such as YT, Disney, Netflix, Sling, Hulu, etc. These Tiles are arrangeable and about half of them are the LG force fed tiles that are not removable. These include, sports alerts, the second home dashboard, gallery (more later) a shopping tile and stuff that seems useless. There is a row that is strictly dedicated to advertisement. I found that under TV management there is an option that is on by default, it can be turned off and it reduces the ads and clutter on your home screen. Second option is to blacklist domains for advertisement on your router. These can easily be found on reddit. Why should anyone have to go to these lengths to make a TV that brings enjoyment to our life’s?
On a positive, the LG channels app gives a great selection of channels that are streamed and is GREAT for cord cutters like myself. At this price point I think most would pay an extra $50-$100 to get rid of all advertisements. I am sure this would offset the money that is gained from sponsorships.
AUDIO ISSUES and eARC default: My setup is pretty simple. I want to be able to play sound out to my Sonos System using eARC and have my headphones play the sound as well so that I can roam around the house while family is watching TV or late-night gaming session. Typically, with my old and now missed Samsung, it would output via eARC as well as Optical so that I could accomplish both audio outputs. This is not the case with LG C1. (There is an option to have two outputs at the same time i.e. TV and WiSA or BT but nothing that looked very useful to me.) You must manually switch between the two, not ideal but whatever. When I go to switch between the two output I get 2-3 seconds of audio from the new source and then the TV switches back to the eARC. This led me down the maddening rabbit hole of pain and frustration of the week that I should be hurting people’s feelings while playing Halo Infinite. This TV has brought more frustration than joy at this point. Long story short, as long as there is an eARC connected to the system it will always default the eARC device. This is the case no matter what even if you disable the auto-detect and or CEC-is disabled in the menus. As soon as you plug anything back in it turns it back on and you are stuck with a one trick pony. Many Forms have dedicated pages to this issue. This is useless and, in an attempt, to find a work around it does it to any type of audio output to include Bluetooth headphone (trying to find a work around). I spoke with a LG tech and he stated that this is a current issue and that the development team is in work. Maybe around the new year there may be a release to correct this glaring issue. Unable to change audio outputs with any eARC device attached.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: Tried many chat sessions to only get booted when I was next in que. About 10 minutes wait each time. Finally got through to one, he suggested a hard reset and after that he said I had a busted 2-day old $1800 TV and suggest I return it. I did not feel this was the case and was not willing to pack this thing back up and return/exchange it. I think at the time if I went through that process I would go with the Samsung.
GALLERY: This is a nice feature that allows you to see some pretty art work and pretty scenery. You have the ability to download some more pics but nothing really cool or engaging. I would like to see the ability to add your own content. On second thought, they may try and take the image and monetize it. LOL!!
Magic Remote: I like it, takes some getting used to but overall, I feel I will be happy with it and the functions that it offers. Only suggestion I have would be to add a small amount of texture on the bottom half where the tips of your fingers rest.
Final thoughts: I would not recommend in its current state and if it were not for Costco’s amazing return policy I would return it NOW. However, I have a few weeks in hope that the dev team fixes issues for this potentially AMAZING TV!!!!!

I wanted to love this tv. The picture is great! With the sound bar it’s a wonderful rich sound. But it has a lot of hiccups. From no setting to start with last app used- to very delayed app resume, ( in some cases app start up ) many other little annoyances. I still think I’m going to return this for a different brand.

This tv has an impressive picture, thin bezel, depth and response thst no other tv Ive seen can compare to. First problem the remote is cheap and breaks, bad design. Second, this tv will experience burn in like an early 2000s plasma tv. LG knows this and wont tell you or warranty their product. Third, garbage customer service in India, you will have to go through a few people before they will give you a real person to really deny your claims. Its not worth the risk at this price point. I own 4 other Tvs all samsung bought within last 10 years and all have zero issues… go with a samsung.. unless you want to buy a new tv every 2.5 years which is what i got out of my LG OLED.

There’s not a ZERO STAR button. DONT BUY! We have a LEMON!!! I have been on the phone with so many John/Jane/Steven and Jim’s at this point from LG’s pathetic customer service department. They are nearly useless. Unless you have a remote problem or need to reset your TV or something simple.
I bought my TV in January 2022 at my local Best Buy because I was sold by the salesman and the picture quality was clearly amazing!
Also, let me adress…I didn’t bring the TV home. I HAD IT DELIVERED by them as to make sure it wasn’t damaged.
Regardless…I have literally been on the phone with LGs customer service department for atLEAST 100 hours in the 4/5 months I’ve had the TV.
I’ve had 2 (TWO) different technicians come to fix the TV. The first time it was to replace my motherboard. Put the TV back up and within 2 days it was back to jumping from the show I’m watching to an HDMI port. Yes, all the settings are off that you’re wondering about. In no way should it jump inputs, but it’s still happening. So many times to that I just have to turn the TV off and not use it! So much for doing what it is supposed to do!
I just got off the phone today with LGs service technician department and I was literally told to go buy a ROKU STICK!!!!! Seriously?!?! I BOUGHT A TV TO STREAM. All my other smart devices get AMAZING SOEEDS (around 300 MBPS). My LGTV gets around 30 MBPS down and 12 MBPS up!!!!!
All LG is trying to do is drag their feet. They told the repair shop it was nothing they could do further because “it wasn’t a TV problem, it’s an APP PROBLEM!” Suggested we don’t use our TV to stream. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!
Please understand…my LGC1 is HARDWIRED into my router that is sitting 3’ away from my TV. The other 2 smart tvs in my home that are about 30’ away have ZERO ISSUE and don’t just switch inputs and drop signal! And they are on Wi-Fi!!!
THIS IS CLEARLY A TV ISSUE but LG refuses to take the responsibility for it! I will post this to every board I can to make sure people know not to buy these products because LG does NOT stand behind them, AT ALL!!!!!
