Fantastic tv if it wasn't for dead pixels
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG G2 is a fantastic tv however I rated it 3 stars and here's why. 2 dead Subpixels I tried 4 different tvs ALL had dead Subpixels. The panel I currently have has a dead red and green pixel. LG has a dead pixel problem on what seems to be the 77 and 83 inch sizes (my 55" C1 is perfect). All manufacturers will put a disclaimer saying it's possible and that it's a part of the manufacturing process but I've NEVER had a tv with dead pixels till I tried large LG OLED TVs. I tried the Sony A80J, the G1 and the C1 last year, same issue and now the G2. The G2 is a very clean panel at the 77 inch size so good job LG on that. However, dead pixels really shouldn't be happening at least not this often. I'd understand if it was a rare issue but it's literally every large OLED I've tried. I'd rather pay a little more if it means no dead pixels so LG definitely has some QC issues they need to work out. For the average person this won't be a big deal, you're not going to see dead pixels from a typical seating distance. But if you're like me, and like to sit really close for gaming, then you might see them. But also this shouldn't be a thing on a high end tv. Dead pixel issue aside, I'd rate it 5 stars, the picture quality is great, HDR is fantastic, this is the brightest OLED I've seen though QD-OLED is brighter and is better. I'm sending this tv back. Dead pixels on a $4,000 tv is a deal breaker. I'm going to wait for QD-OLED next year since the 77" size will be out (also QD-OLED panels are made by Samsung display). If dead pixels don't bother you then go for it, you won't be disappointed in the G2. Otherwise I just can't recommend any LG OLED tv's until they fix the dead pixel issue they have. EDIT: I now noticed a 3rd dead pixel. Now there's a dead blue Subpixel not sure if it died in the short time I had the panel or if I just didn't notice it at first.

Lg g2 77
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really like the LG G2, compared to my LG NANO86 the difference in clarity the inky blacks especially after tweaking the settings look absolutely amazing in HDR, even more so in Dolby Vision and its recent Precision Detail update. TV show/movie content and gaming really do look stunning! Just make sure to tweak the TV settings and both your Console & each Games HDR settings for the best picture. Plenty of guides online/YouTube. Use them as a base then tweak to your preferred setup. Anyway, yeah, I’ve been pretty impressed overall with only one minor gripe that I’m hoping will be addressed in a firmware update, so might be irrelevant by the time you’ve read this. Which I’ll get out of the way now… The ‘Just Scan’ option being set to ‘AUTO’ and greyed out instead of ‘ON’ on PS5/Xbox Series X meaning some games, at least on PS5 are cropped. If it was set to ‘ON’ that would prevent that from happening. This doesn’t seem to affect too many games though, thankfully. There were other gripes/issues, but they were addressed after updating to the latest firmware. I had to download it to my PC from the LG website, as the TV only updated to a firmware from back in July. With that out the way, the G2 is a great looking TV with it’s thin profile and silver edge bezels giving it a premium look that will look great in most rooms regardless of how it’s displayed, it goes extremely well with the style of my living room. It’s designed to be wall mounted with its own wall mount (an optional stand can be bought separately or 3rd party VESA stand/feet), but I’ve opted to use a floor stand using VESA holes, along with attaching the LG Sound Bar G1 (that I got at the same time) that matches the thin profile of the TV and that supports Dolby Atmos for the added experience of great immersive sound to go with the beautiful looking picture (looking forward to receiving my rear speakers that I have on back order to complete the surround sound experience). I’d recommend streaming services that offer Dolby Vision/Atmos to get the most out of the TV. Again, once tweaked the TV picture with the clarity, inky blacks a brightness I’ve never personally seen on an OLED before, that’s helped by the new Evo panel and heat sink is truly a feast for the eyes, which I hope my review along with my pictures can go some way in helping you make a decision. My pictures would have included more if I could) are from Thor Love & Thunder in Dolby Vision (Disney+) Copshop in HDR (Amazon Prime) and Deathloop in HDR on the Xbox Series X. Hopefully these will help give you an idea of how good it can look, but bare in mind that it will look even better in person and require tweaking of several settings. Lastly make sure your TV is registered with LG to get the 5 year limited panel warranty for extra peace of mind in owning an OLED.

Superior OLED TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this 2022 model G at the beginning of 2024 and saved about $1000. Picture is amazing although G3 and (I hear) G4 are brighter. Sound is a little muffled to me, possibly because it mounts flush to the wall in the "gallery" style so there's no airgap behind the TV. I think it uses side-firing speakers like a large version of what's in a smart phone, but they still a bit muddy and muffled. It is a little tricky to install but once on, you won't need to be removing it often. Our 5-year old C series OLED had a case of CNN banner burn-in so the OLED panel setting to lower the brightness of static items will hopefully prevent that. It was fantastic to watch the Superbowl with this TV (in spite of the result). Highly recommend.

Fantastic TV (If You Can Get a Deal) Otherwise C2
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had this TV earlier this year and returned it simply because I didn't think it was much of an upgrade over my 65 inch CX, but there is something about the G2. While not night and day better, it is an improvement in almost every area - definitely brighter, slightly better shadow details, more clarity and unlike other TVs I've tried in the last year this TV has been rock solid. No wifi, hdmi, or other software/hardware issues. LG still needs to get better Uniformity on their panels. The G2 I had earlier this year was clean, the new one had deep pink tint and had to swap, my current panel is clean. Also not providing a stand is silly and the TV is heavy. As far as upscaling, I think people put to much stock in that, no TV can make 420p or 720p content look like 4k. I haven't seen any posterization or other issues with streaming, I will say if you do have issues just get yourself an Nvidia Shield Pro which does an excellent job with upscalling. 1080p content looks crystal clear on this TV. I get annoyed when people say if you watch TV/Movies get a Sony as if somehow these LG OLEDs are only good for gaming. This TV is great for everything - gaming, movies, tvs, etc. I sometimes like the quality on the built in apps more than on my Apple TV. It even has picture in picture, great build quality and an ATSC 3.0 Tuner - if you care about that. I'm not convinced that's NextGen TV will be a thing, but I don't have to worry about it with this TV. Yes there are other TVs that may be slight better in one or two areas, but it's not "night" and "day" as some folks imply. There are so many compromises you have to make with other brands just to get a slightly "better" picture. Whether it be lack of Dolby Vision and really bad firmware, or lack of proper "gaming" features and anti-consumer policies of other companies. Other than making the G3 "brighter" and have more color volume, I can't imagine what LG can do to produce a "better" TV. At some point the technical quality of the content needs to get better. I had the C2 and honestly I don't see much of a difference between the C2 and G2, however Best Buy had such an amazing one day deal on this TV that paying a $300 difference to get this over the C2 was well worth it. If you have a CX like I had, I wouldn't upgrade at the TV's current price - unless you are going for a size increase like I did. If you don't have any OLED and need a TV, the C2 is the one to get. Get the G2 if there's only a few hundred difference.

Great Picture for the Videophile in you...
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.More than meets expectations, especially after coming from a 15+ yo LCD. This TV is bright...like OVERLY bright compared to the old TV. The 4K HDR/DV movies look amazing. I should get it color calibrated to seal the deal but as it is, its just an amazing picture and the interface is easy to use and adjust. LG made it easy to disable to didnt balk or care that I disabled it. Nice. I will periodically connect for firmware updates but so far its been a great purchase. The installers were supreme! They had the mount and TV on the wall in 20 minutes. They clearly knew their stuff and it made the purchase that much better. The cleaned up, showed me how to do some basics and asked if I needed anything else and were off. They were very professional.

||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unbelievable TV! I had compared this to many others including the Sony A90J, the LG C2 and settled on the G2. I'm so very glad I did. It is very bright for an OLED and the blacks are amazing. 4K movies look incredible and sports have zero motion blur. I could not be more happy with this purchase.

Stunning picture quality
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG 77” Class G2 TV has exceeded my expectations in every way. The picture quality is truly remarkable, offering breathtaking clarity and vibrant colors that bring my favorite movies and shows to life. The 4K OLED panel delivers deep blacks and excellent contrast, creating an immersive viewing experience. The sleek design of the TV is equally impressive, with its slim bezels and minimalist aesthetic. The thin profile and nearly edge-to-edge display make it a stunning centerpiece for any room. The included stand is sturdy and well-designed, ensuring stability and allowing for easy positioning. I also appreciate the user-friendly interface and the intuitive Magic Remote that accompanies the TV. Navigating through menus and accessing various streaming platforms is a breeze, and the remote’s motion control feature adds a touch of convenience. The audio quality is exceptional as well, with rich and immersive sound. The built-in speakers produce clear dialogue and dynamic soundscapes, making me feel like I’m right in the middle of the action. Additionally, the LG 77” Class G2 TV is packed with useful features, including built-in Wi-Fi, support for multiple HDR formats, and a wide range of connectivity options. It seamlessly integrates with my other devices and offers a seamless streaming experience. In summary, the LG 77” Class G2 TV is a remarkable television that delivers an unparalleled visual experience. With its stunning picture quality, sleek design, user-friendly interface, and excellent audio, it’s a true gem for any entertainment enthusiast. I highly recommend this TV for those seeking the ultimate home theater experience.

Can’t go wrong with this TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is as good as advertised. I’m not sure there’s any on the market that beats it. I’m not a gamer, so I can address that functionality. But for Streaming movies, tv and all the other sources available, you’re getting viewing experience that is very very satisfying. Keeping your room a bit on the darker side helps, but not necessary. Brightness is quite good. I’d definitely watch a u-tube on adjusting the settings. It really helped getting the best picture for me. I use a Sonos Arc surround sound system. I got it up and running with no problem. The only negatives - which are nit-picks are the remote control. It’s great, but wonky and the on-screen menu set-up and regular use. I’m an Apple TV user and you can have the tv open to that interface. So I’m good with that. Cost: it’s too much, but not for what you’re getting. If you are looking for the newest, high quality oled device, i don’t think you’ll be anything but ecstatic with your purchase

Great quality picture oled tv from LG
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This tv from LG is a top tier flagship oled. Beautiful rich colors with excellent contrast. Brightness is excellent for all formats you choose to watch. HDR content is incredible to watch on this set. If you don't have home theater speakers the sound from the tv is not bad at all. It is a bit pricey but if your patient they usually have some sort of sale to help justify the purchase of this tv.

Doesn't disappoint--Love it
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had multiple 65" LG OLEDs but until this year had not had a G-series. The panel is incredible and blows away my older B series 65". The increased brightness very noticeable and apparently the new heatsinks will help stave off burn-in considerably longer. We had burn-in after about 8000 hours of use on an early gen LG OLED, so it will be interesting to see how this does. If you are going to use the Phillips Hue Play Gradient lightstrip (I purchased the 75" for this 77" G2 and the 65" for the 65" C2) it will be easier to flush mount the C2 with the lightstrip. Going to look for different mount for the G2 in hopes it's just far enough off the wall to accomodate the lightstrip--it's that flush to the wall. Which is normally a good thing, but the lightstrip requires a little space. Lastly, LG's G2 series is the only OLEDs they offer shipping with the ATSC 3.0 built-in tuner, which supports the NextGen TV giving you 4K with an antenna. With the panel in the C2 and G2 being so similar, this is what pushed me over the edge to buy the G2. So far this is the best tv I've ever experienced.

Best overall premium 75"+ OLED package
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The LG G2 series W-OLED in 77" is amazing. This 4K TV's picture only really has competition from the Sony A95K QLED, but for gaming Sony's latency is slower. The Samsung S95B QLED only goes to 65", has a cool remote but is a virtual tie for picture and gaming vs normal use. The LG WebOS is easy to use and intuitive, the remote is substantial enough not to get lost in the couch or bed. The LG is better in rooms with medium to bright light than the QLED's. This LG G2 77" screen with Alexa is awesome especially when paired with a Sonos Arc, 2-One SL's & Gen 3 wireless Sub, it's pretty sublime. Yes, the future may be going QLED but LG has had 10 years to master W-OLED and this is as good as it gets... Gaming NVIDIA G-Sync, Sports, Cinema Mode, Dolby Vision & Atmos, 4-HDMI 2.1 ports it's the best balance.

Upgrading tv from an old tv to a new modern tv.

WOW
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this to replace my LG C1 in the living room. Totally different television in terms of quality and brightness. This TV is amazing especially if you can catch it on sale. Whether gaming or movies this tv is something special. The heatsink really is a game changer. I have only had 2 days so I am still in the break in period but the techs and I did dirty screen and banding test and it passed without any DSE. Extremely clean panel which is common in 77 inches. If you need a large screen skip this years models and go with last year. The LG G2 for the money is one of the best TVs of 2023.

LG G2 77" is impressive
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is fantastic. I kept looking at reviews and knew I wanted the best. With an open box deal and the G3 release I couldn't pass this up. I understand the G3 is brighter but my room doesn't have much ambient light and even if it did there is plenty of brightness. 4K 120 frame rate is phenomenal. Gaming is definitely much more crisp than I've seen on any other display. I can't complain. ARC works great with my audio receiver for sound and the smart apps are ample to keep me from using my Apple TV device. I'd recommend this TV and certainly have.

An amazing upgrade!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Replaced my 4K TCL with this TV, it’s night and day difference! The black levels are astounding, and the picture… I know 4k is 4k, it’s not like this has more pixels or anything, but it’s so much better than the TCL it just floored me. It’s the first time I had a TV in my home that gave me that “whoa” feeling you get on the store with a perfectly calibrated set. My wife, who can take or leave TVs (she thinks I’m slightly crazy for how into them I am) came in the room, looked at the picture, and said “yeah, OK, I see what you mean, that’s just stupid”, which is about the best compliment on a set I think she could ever give.

LG G2 77 Oled TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been the best tv purchased I have made ever. I had an old fire tv that i purchased it in 2017, and i thought that tv was awasome even in 2023. Boy was I whong. After I purchased this beautiful 77 inch LG G2 Oled TV, its hard to go back to regular televisions. The pictureis incredibly sharp, and the blacks and contrast is unmatched. |Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV is just absolutely stunning. This is my third LG OLED purchase over the years and I continue to be impressed. The flush to the wall look really just adds a certain something that is hard to describe, but when you see it in your home you will simply fall in love with it. I do a ton of research before buying a TV. I’ll save you some time: this is the one to buy.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Came from a plasma panasonic that had the deepest blacks and great colors for its time, but coming into the oled I am blown away. Im wanting to rewatch movies and shows just to see it again on the G2. Rewatching Game of Thrones boggled my mind with the dobly vision. I’m not having any wifi issues so far which is good cause that would suck and no dead pixels from what ive seen. Got that great total tech price and geek squad installation was really good.

Great 77" OLED TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great OLED television. Nice and clear picture, bright. I purchased this 2022 model at a nice discount after reading that the equivalent 2023 model didn't have any major changes. I purchased the extended Geek Squad warranty for this tv after experiencing burn-in problems with my 6 year old LG OLED model.
