I sit it on top of my tower for easy access. I have only used it as a player and it works just fine. No issues. Very simple and plays movies which is all I wanted.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.bought this 'for my laptop. it doesn't have a dvd player on it. the LG8 works great so far. uses a usb to hook up to my laptop. the music and the dvd sound is great. wish i had bought one sooner. it's light wight. hardly any noise at all. over all a good by. have used blue ray on it, no prob. some burned dvd's on it too they all worked.if u need a dvd player get this one.

I purchased this device because the new laptop I purchased didn't have one. I am a mobile DJ and some of mmt clients/ customers still listen to their tunes via CD, this unit enables me to burn CD's of my mixes for them.

So we bought this and it worked just fine. Physical media is dying but for those who still have a need, this will do the job.
