Bought this refrigerator and had it delivered to a house I built in October, 2017. Worked great the first 14 months...then started making noise. I called to get an LG technician to come look - and they want $125 just to come to my house - this does not include the labor or parts for the repair itself. While I have a very good idea of WHAT's causing the noise, the issue is going to require a new defrost sensor, as the evaporator fan is likely hitting ice. I don't have a spare 30cu ft fridge to empty all contents and unplug for 24 hours....which is what would confirm this, yet still not identify WHY there is likely ice buildup around the fan.
Short story - $125 just to have someone tell me what I'm 90% sure of, then pay addition to get it fixed - on a $3500 investment less than a year and a half old - it's crap. They should either waive the fee to show up or cover whatever it will cost to repair. Look at the history of these LG refrigerators and you'll see that this is an extremely common issue across many of their models - you'd think they'd have been able to engineer a solution by now (goes back many years.)
Very disappointed - they would NOT tell me any repair shops in my area, only that it costs $125 to send out an LG certified tech. Wouldn't buy another LG product with this limited life span to save my life....upset I bought this one. Do NOT recommend.

This refrigerator far exceeded my expectations. The door in door works great for the quick that you're constantly going after, and the adjustable temperature drawer has preset temperatures for whatever your favorite item happens to be.... like adult beverages at 33 degrees. Worth the price. I hope it holds up for many years.

I purchased this fridge 1.5 years ago. I did love it until it stopped cooling properly. LG customer service is also horrible to deal with. This ended up costing me an extra $500 to repair. Not worth the money!

Top of the line product - A JUNK

I purchase this refrigerator 4 years ago and paid about $3000 and it is the top of the line LG refrigerator. I had already replaced compressor twice. The issue of not cooling keeps happening. I have another technician visit scheduled in a weeks time. It is so frustrating that spending so much on a top of the line product has end life in just under 5 years! If you are shopping to buy LG, skip and buy a Samsung or even a whirlpool. This piece of junk is not worth 3 grands!

I purchased an entire set of LG appliances (including this fridge) and of the 7 higher end appliances purchased, 4 have now failed at least 1 time in the first 1 year of owning these products.
Owned Frigidaire for 6 years prior with 0 issues, own LG and in the first 6 months, have had 6 problems and now in the first 12 months, 9 total problems... all major issues that kept the appliance from working until repair.
Even better on this fridge that touts a 10 year warranty on the special Linear Compressor... made it 1/10 of that time.. 1 year.
Sigh.

This is my first refrigerator that I have purchased! My opinion may be skewed from the refrigerators that most apartments/lofts come with, but this is the greatest refrigerator ever!
The middle shelf is great to store beverages and yogurt and the half door is great for getting juice out without opening the whole refrigerator.
Just remember the water dispenser is right above the ice dispenser.

Exhausted and frustrated, reaching out here for help.
I purchased a 29.7 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator with Door-in-Door and CustomChill Drawer in Stainless Steel on May 23rd and it has been nothing but headache after headache. Immediately this fridge and freezer portion were not hitting temperatures displayed. We have been nothing is wrong with the fridge, the freezer fan is faulty, ice maker is broken (replaced), the back panel is faulty (not 100% sure what they replaced, but it was a large part), and now the main control board needs replaced. In the interim we have had several gallons of milk, fruit, meat, etc go bad. Almost weekly we buy groceries bc we are told the fridge is "working." In fact, LG was dismissive (in my opinion) and said "quality fridges" won't get food super cold bc of energy rating. After paying thousands of dollars for a quality fridge, 7 weeks later we don't have a product that even keeps food cold. We have been told that 3-4 parts have to be replaced before it can be swapped, even though they don't actually know what is wrong and it takes 2 weeks each time a part is swapped. I chose LG because my wife and I fell in love with the all the design elements of this fridge. However I now wish we would have stayed with the competitor brand that isn't as sleak, but you know, kept food cold. The attached pictures are when the fridge is set at 33 and the freezer at -6.

So...everyone thinking LG is a good brand to buy right. I was too. After reading a lots of reviews I decided to buy my refrigerator from them. I also buy an extended warranty thru Best Buy. I bought refrigerator model: LMXS30776S on 11/28/2014. So with the Geek Squad extra warranty to 1/08/2018. Everyone know that Lg compressor warranty for 5 years, and yes, if they did like they said. I would get cover until 11/28/2019. The thing is....when I contacted them on early November that my refrigerator all the sudden stop get cool. It's literally took them until February 2020 to reply back to me and said my warranty is expired. I'm like....really??? Covid-19 start on November 2019. With all the delay, I thought they would count the day that contacted them the issue not the day they get in touch back with me. I didn't write a review until now because I want to make sure my refrigerator was mess up due to the compressor was failed. A good friend of my is a electrician and very familiar with fixing refrigerator said: Unfortunately, your compressor was not working anymore sis. and now, I even find out that Lg has a big law suit on their refrigerator during 2013 to 2019 models due to the cooling issues. Common Lg. You always gave people such a impressions on your products, good customer services. I hope that you can keep this up. Anyway, I'm very disappointed that an expensive refrigerator can only last barely 5 years.

Bought this January 2016 with the extended warranty. About three and half years later it quit cooling and we had to throw out tons of food. Unfortunately for me the purchased extended warranty ran out January.
Working with LG in hopes that it is one of the sealing or compressor extended warranty they have announced and honoring.
I’ve had two LG customer reps that were phenomenal and two not so great and not very helpful at all.

DO NOT BUY LG!

Save yourself some hassle and DO NOT BUY LG! I've had mine for 3 years, 8 months and the compressor died, killing all cooling in the freezer and refrigerator. I have had to live out of an ice chest for the last ten days because LG cannot get anybody out to fix it and when they can, they don't order the correct parts. Yes, I purchased an extended warranty but the only ones who can fix this particular item is LG because it is a sealed system and they do not train technicians here to fix those items. Consider yourself warned. It is a beautiful refrigerator and has all sorts of nice features but if it does not work, what good are those features? I have had to purchase a different brand to replace it because it is more than unreasonable to expect anybody to live without a refrigerator for a month, which is what would happen if I do not get a new one. LG customer support is in the Philippines and customer service, themselves, told me they do not rely on refrigerators to keep their food so they cannot possibly sympathize with this situation and, believe ME, they don't! Please save yourself the trouble and buy something else. If you don't believe me, check the internet and you will find a class action lawsuit against LG because it is a KNOWN ISSUE, yet they continue to sell these monsters to stupid people like me. I thought I did my homework and the reviews looked fine, but I am so sorry I didn't dig a little further. And if you really want one, I have one for sale! Then you can come to my house to pick it up and we can feast on spoiled yogurt and rotten eggs for breakfast. Sound good?

Best refrigerator I've ever owned and I am 70

I love this fridge! My husband convinced me to buy it and I was reluctant because the price seemed too much for a fridge. BUT IT HAS BEEN WORTH EVERY PENNY WE SPENT ON IT. There is room for everything that was in my old fridge with space to spare. Contents are eye level and even though I am short I can reach to the back which I couldn't do in the old fridge. The door in the door keeps the fridge from running so much in the hot weather we are having. The ice machine is easy to get to and I can put my tall pitcher under the in door ice dispenser to get ice and water. Right now I am using the middle drawer for things I use everyday and I like the fact that it can be set at different temperatures. When I moved all the frozen items in, I was excited that there were two extra pull out drawers that made finding things in the freezer easier. I thank my husband frequently for insisting that we get this fridge. Great buy at Best Buy.

Terrible experience with this brand. No real help from their customer support and the parts to fix our fridge are on backorder for over a month with no ETA. Now I have to take time out of my day to report this company to the BBB, yelp, and any other reputation sites that have a profile for this brand. I don't want another person to experience the things my family has with this brand. All that glitters isn't gold guys. Stay away from this brand.

This is pretty much a very expensive disposable fridge. Ours died in 3 years and it seems like this is the case with everyone reporting issues. We've spent more than $1000 already on a compressor replacement and it's still not working. Common problem is the sealed system issues, which will rear it's ugly head conveniently after the warranty expires. We're now thinking about buying a new fridge from companies who don't make tv's. LG has been in a class action lawsuit already because of the same problems. This should not be sold anywhere anymore. Those who have put in 4 stars or more, give it time.

If I could give this fridge a zero i would. Worked great when we first bought it then it stopped working. It took a month to have it repaired. The compressor, fan, electronic board all went out on it not even 4 months later I'm in the same boat. Waiting 2 weeks for LG to just come out then probably another 3 weeks for them to get parts and fix it for the second time. Customer service thru LG is a joke.

Please read - Buyer Beware

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Long story short, this fridge looks great but not worth the price. The compressor went out while I was out of town and now the parts are on backorder with no answers as to when they will ship. Furthermore, LG Electronics nor Best Buy are willing to somewhat reimburse any of the frozen or refrigerated foods that went bad. Not even a local grocery store gift card. I threw away LOTS of food because of this poor quality product. Please do not go through what I did. Not worth the headaches and stress after you pay a small fortune for what you believe is a quality product and would last more than 23 months.
I would like to believe that perhaps I might have received better resolution to this issue if I was dealing with management or corporate, but in these cases they rely on CSR's and geek squad. Not good.

We have loved this refrigerator for 2 years but it just broke...so many great features and storage areas. The drawer is my favorite for cheese, yogurt, etc. The ice maker is tiny and the door shelves don't hold very much but overall it's been great. It stopped cooling our food after 2 years of use and we didn't buy the extended warranty. When I call our local trusted repair people, nobody fixes LG or Samsung for some reason so it's over a week before an LG repair person can come out. I wish we would've went with GE Profile, Maytag or one that would've been easier to find a repair person, especially after spending almost $3,000 on it!! Such a Bummer!!

This refrigerator is a piece of garbage. After spending nearly $3K on this refrigerator less than 2 1/2 years ago, we have had to replace two ice makers, and the compressor. After 2 weeks with the new compressor, it died again. We have had hundreds of dollars of food spoil twice in a single month, and I have spent roughly 20 hours on the phone with LG support (not exaggerating).
LG customer support has been infuriating to deal with on all accounts. Our average time to repair has been close to 2.5 weeks from initial contact. For each service instance, I have made anywhere between 3 and 15 phone calls to LG support just to try to get the tech to our house.
Save yourself the headache and stay away from LG refrigerators (as well as the Kenmore refrigerators that LG manufactures)!

Bad compressors, terrible service 45 days!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This model is known for compressor issues. Repairman had to replace it twice! And still only got the freezer to working. Fridge is not blowing cold air. It took 4 repairs over 45 DAYS with NO FRIDGE before they finally agreed to give us a refund. The outsourced (not US) customer service people are very nice but can only input your problem into the database and schedule appointments. I live in Houston and the local repair vendor was overwhelmed with too many service calls. Had to wait a week sometimes just to get repairman out to look at it. Then another week to get the part and try to repair it. 45 DAYS and finally it took a WHOLE WEEK just to approve my refund!!! And they didn't really seem to care at all how much money I spent on ice and eating out.
They only gave me $2,200 when I paid 2,800 + extended warranty + TTL = $3,117 all in. And it will probably be 2 weeks before I get the check. I will NEVER BUY ANY LG PRODUCT AGAIN.

Worse Purchase Ever, backed by weak service plan
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I purchased this refrigerator in 2015. We were impressed with the large capacity and stylish design. Since it was such an expensive item, we opted for the "five-year" service plan.
The first disappointment resulted from the poor output we experienced from the ice maker. The second was that over the first several months, all of the door-mounted storage bins began to crack. They all had to be replaced in the first year.
Since then, the unit has completely stopped functioning three times, resulting in hundreds of dollars in lost food each time. The first time this happened because of a failed circuit board.
The second breakdown was the result of a failed compressor. I spend several weeks in dealing with the warranty company over the repair because they twice sent out services that were not authorized by LG to replace the part. Once they finally admitted that they could not find an authorized repair center, I had to hire someone myself and have them reimburse me.
Now, a year later, the replacement compressor has failed. They were able to find an authorized repair service, but we have spent over three weeks waiting for LG to provide the part. They will not replace the appliance unless the repair service they dispatch declares it beyond repair. In the meantime, I am stuck with a refrigerator that has not worked at all for almost three of the thirty-six months we have owned it.
Clearly, I am stuck with a lemon. If you buy this model, you are unlikely to have as poor an experience as we have had.
Lesson learned? Spend more time researching service plans. Next time, I will start the process with a local service company that I trust, determine which warranty companies they work with and the brands that they service and recommend.
