Game is an absolute masterpiece! Best souls game I played that isn’t made by FromSoftware! Beautiful graphics, great performance, the soundtrack is one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard for a video game, story is great and easy to understand, and bosses/enemy have a huge variety!

Games like this come and go all the time now but this one is something special similar in gameplay to Bloodborne if I had to make a direct comparison, It was fun from start to finish and I always wanted to keep playing and not often do I have a hard time putting down a game these days. Recommend to anyone looking for a challenging fun experience who is a fan of the genre.

Probably the best souls-like available. The devs patched the game after a week and it runs just as smoothly as a FROM game.

While this game wears its inspiration on its sleeve, it earns its own unique play in the soulsborne genre. 5/5 from me

Very underrated game. One of my favorite from 2023. Frustratingly amazing. Stick with it. It’s a hard game but it’s great when you get the hang of it.

I love Soulsborne games so I had to take this one, I’ve always been a fan of the Pinocchio story and mixing it up with the Soulsborne style was an excellent idea

It's no secret that Lies of P gets its inspiration from Fromsoftware games. Theres a bit of the parry system, as well as prosthetic arm weapons from Sekiro. Some of the gothic/ victorian/ steam punk art direction and atmosphere of Bloodborne. Weapon scaling, item discovery, and NPC interaction is all very similar to how all Fromsoftware games generally work.
If you're familiar with those games, you'll feel right at home. If not, I would recommend watching/ reading some tutorials. There is a fairly steep learning curve to all of the systems the game utilizes.
Graphics and framerate are excellent, and feel like a proper current gen game ( I own the PS5 version )
Art direction is absolutely gorgeous. A mix of early industrial revolution, steampunk, gothic, and victorian era themes.
Gameplay feels appropriately weighty. Not as fast paced as a game like Bloodborne or Sekiro, but not as slow and methodical as a game like Dark Souls 1.
Difficulty: Mileage may vary for everyone. I found the game to be challenging, but not soul crushingly difficult.
The story is also pretty interesting ( I havent finished the game ). It takes some themes and characters of the classic story of Pinocchio, and fits it into the mold of a Fromsoft style of story telling. NPCs coversations and item descriptions are how you'll put most of the story together.
Overall, im very impressed with "Lies of P", and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, yet challenging Action RPG.

Great all around, ambiance, music, gameplay, story, it checks all the boxes if you're looking for a soulslike that is not as brutal (though a few bosses can give you some headaches) some of the others.

I'm a Soulsbourne/Souls-Like veteran and have had my eye on Lies of P since its first announcement, and it is in my opinion the best Souls-Like game out there. From the gameplay to the very style and beautifully designed characters and areas and tight game controls, it is also true to the difficulty it was based on "Bloodborne" but has its own twist on the difficulty that may make other gamers including those that are used to playing Souls games shy away. Blocking is the main focus of defensive gameplay, just Blocking an attack has your hero take "chip damage" and like Bloodborne you can hit the enemy back to regan some health. On the other hand perfect blocking negates any damage and even allows for better follow up attacks. The one problem is that a lot of enemies seem to have either very little frames of animation or love to have big swings that trick the player which can come across as frustrating or unfair. Regardless if you stick with it and like any souls game "persevere" you will find that Lies of P is becoming one of the greats of challenging style games.

If you really enjoyed Dark Souls amd Bloodborne… then this game is perfect for you! The storyline is great! The setting is creppy! The enemies and bosses are hard, which makes it fun, and the combat is easy to use! I definitely recommend this game!

Lies of P is very challenging but rewarding gaming experience. Its not genre defining by any means but what it does offer is a compelling cast of characters and an interesting world to explore. The combat is a particular highlight for me as it is fast, strategic and brutal. For anyone looking for the sequal to Playstation's Bloodborne this checks all the boxes in everything but name. The game runs great on the PS5 and the controls are tight. Visually the game looks amazing for a soulslike with great lighting and gore effects. Definitely recommend trying it out and supporting a little known studio who gives a quality experience day 1. 5 stars for me

My new favorite souls/like - great fluid combat, more story than i expected (and a good one too) but never intrusive and totally skippable if you just wanna swing swords around like a maniac! (a must have an a souls game, if you ask me)

This is one of the greatest "souls-like" games out there. I think it can even stand toe to toe with Fromsoft's games. It does have its own twists to the formula, but it also absolutely borrows a lot from Dark Souls, Sekiro, and most especially Bloodborne. If the game wasn't so good then that would have been more egregious, but the game is really good, so I think it can wear its inspirations with pride. It might also be harder than most souls games too, which is important to note if you struggle with those games difficulty.

I legit almost returned the game because I just couldn't get the hang of it for being my first soulslike game. But let me tell you when I say I got hooked, I GOT HOOKED. I couldn't put this game this game down once I started to understand it more and more. Combat is so much fun, and the story and characters are great! I'll say it is one of my favorites games to date.
