The brand has a well known reputation (and price to match). For many years, I’ve held back and not purchased one of these super expensive cases, thinking to myself, no way it’s worth the cost. And I’m sad to say I caved and wished I hadn’t. ALL of my calls are muffled for me and for the caller, the screen has an oil slick that is forever present and will not go away no matter how many times I take it out and clean the screen, and worst of all the case itself colour has now faded and turned to an ugly discoloured mess. All within a month of gentle use. Such a shame. Wish there was something I could do about it to get my money back. Life proof sent me a new case but it will no doubt also exhibit the same problems after use. Don’t waste your time or money.

We're sorry to hear about your disappointing experience with FRĒ for the iPhone Xs. That's definitely unusual. We do have some troubleshooting tips that might be able to get you helped out.
For the oil slick on the screen, there are a couple things that you can try. First, be sure that you're not using any additional screen protectors with your phone. If that doesn't help, we recommend removing your case, and allowing it to air out for about an hour in the driest room of your home; before reinstalling that case, be sure to thoroughly wipe down the phone and case.
As for audio issues, the most important thing is making sure the case is properly installed. When you're putting on your case, make sure to slide the phone into the case speaker-end first, as this ensures the microphone on your device is properly seated over the microphone seal in the LifeProof. Additionally, if your phone has a noise cancellation setting (found in accessibility in your settings), we usually suggest turning that setting off.
