Unable to connect via WiFi from Android

LiFX support has tried to be helpful. I updated the bulb firmware via a Mac,
finished the update via Android 5.1
but was still unable to connect to the bulb via Android 5.1.
I wish the Android app had some debug/diagnostic information.
