Great Adapter, AC USB 3.0
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I upgraded from 2.4 GHz to this AC 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz Dual band. I pick this one over the Netgear because the Linksys is 3.0 USB and Netgear is 2.0 USB, the Netgear is faster 900 on 5 GHz vs 867 for Linksys but keep in mind that USB 3.0 is 10x faster then USB 2.0 so the USB will transfer the information faster to the internet and back to your computer. the installation was so easy anyone can do it, just put the CD in and USB adapter and password to the router and DONE! that is it. for speed it is outstanding I do a lot of online gaming and the wife watches movies on her I Pad and no lag.

Does not work well with Windows 10 OS

Furture-proof WiFi Adapter

Install was NOT Plug-and-Play on my Windows 8.1 OS, had to download the newest driver from Linksys website first, but installation was painless and computer recognized the adapter immediately after the driver was installed. Performance is excellent on the 5GHz band for me (my router only has 802.11n, no 802.11ac yet). There are only two thing I don't like: 1. it has a wide body, so if you have another USB or whatever port laterally adjacent to this adapter, it WILL BE BLOCKED. 2. It's priced maybe 15-20 bucks too high as its current MSRP IMO.

After about a week of using this I can say it couldn't be any better. So far I have experienced no drop in connection, being about 30 feet away from my router and it being in another part of the house. It stays in its usual 4-6 ms ping range and 180-200+ mbps both ways. I really can't say anything bad about this currently. And the ease of use is a massive plus, just plug and connect with no installing of any drivers or anything. At this price this is a steal!
