I didn't try this myself, my brother and sister-in-law tried to install it. They could not get it to work for what I needed it to do. I have trouble getting my wireless to get to certain areas in my home. The extender could not connect to my network so I could connect with my network. They tried everything they could think of, but the entire endeavor was without success. I am sorry, but it just didn't work.

It does extend the range of my wifi so that i get more consistent performance throughout my apartment, but based on the specs I was expecting to be able to extend the range further to include my outdoor areas.

I bought this range extender to put in my man cave that is located in the deepest crevice of my basement. I was lucky to get 50% signal before, but now I'm skating at full strength. It works seamlessly with my linksys 1750 and stays connected to my network even when my TWC internet cuts in and out. Now to find a better ISP...

I bought this range extender because the wireless signal in my office started dropping a lot. Setting up the device was a little tricky when following the instructions. I ended up using their online chat for help and the support person walked me through the direct wired setup, which worked. Once set up I did not see much difference and it was hard to tell if the device was really doing anything. Ironically, the setup of this device led me to find what I think was a misconfiguration on my router. After adjusting the router settings, my wireless connection in the office was much better. Ultimately, I returned the range extender - not so because there was anything wrong with it but because I really didn't need it.

Works as expected, it does exactly what it is supposed to be doing !!

bought this to extend router signal, works great so far. a little pricey though.

Love this extender! Once you find the perfect spot and you set it up, you'll forget about it. Mine is in a closet. I'm not a tech guy and it was really easy to set up. I alway have signal not like the net gear I had. Uninterrupted wifi signal!

This device works great! It can be used as an alternative when your computer's wireless card it's working.

This extender was very easy to set up and worked great for 45 days. Then, one day the light was blinking and stopped working. I followed all the troubleshooting solutions in the manual, called technical support, followed all their instructions until they determined they device was defective. At this moment I am waiting for them to send me a replacement device. Not good. I read in forums a lot of people with exactly the same problem

I moved my router to a downstairs location, when I did my family had a weak signal upstairs, I went to Best Buy to find my options. The associate matched the extender to my router by make, I bought it, followed the directions and in less than 5 mins. I was up and running. Problem solved

Before we bought this item, we were spending a lot of money on data charges for our cell phones. Afterwards, we no longer have any overage charges, because the thing works through the whole house. This device pays for itself in just a couple of months by eliminating data charges.

Good product that does just what it is intended to do. Also, very portable to allow placing anywhere in your home. However, somewhat difficult to determine if it is operating correctly after setup. Must call Linksys customer support to have them help you connect directly to the device, as the setup software does not provide that capability.

If you have CISCO Linksys Modem - this extender is for you.

Had to find an old laptop to set up (because it had to read wi-fi signal - all we had were Apple products w/o cd reader). After set-up worked great for upstairs wireless gadgets - until it stopped. Called LinkSys for assistance to no avail; even had the tech tell me I was doing something wrong when I had done nothing other than follow her directions. Apparently these update themselves and when my unit upgraded it had a breakdown. Had to return product and waiting for them to send replacement.

I had a weak signal area where we have a TiVo HD unit. Trying to stream media thru the TiVo. I plugged the range extender into the computer to pick preferences and pair it to the router. Straight forward to connect, picked preference for streaming. Works with no issues. I like the product and would recommend it.

My modem is upstairs and my computer with wifi is downstairs and my 5Ghz band drops out sometimes downstairs so I purchased the range extender to boost the signal. It has done the job by boosting my signal from fair to good on my Windows PC. The installation was a bit tricky as my Linksys modem was not seeing the extender, but I was able to finally get it setup and working. I would recommend as a cheap solution to poor indoor wifi signal.

Very easy to install and connect multiple wireless devices to!

The signal would drop every hour and be down for a few minutes. Really got aggravating considering I bought it about 5 weeks ago. Called Linksys support and they helped me through installing new firmware. Their support is meant for people with really no computer knowledge which made me mad since they are very slow with explaining things. They said if the problem returned they would ship out a new one. They tried to say it is my router, which I know for a fact is not the problem... I really hate when customer support doesn't believe you.
