Coming form a Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 for the past 10yrs. It's taking me a while to get used to it.
It works great in games, and has more features then I will use.
I had 1 issue where my thumb kept hitting the G4 button on the side, but using the Logitech Gaming software I just disabled the button.
The mouse itself has memory for saving your custom profiles or use you PC hardrive .
At first I had an issue, If I leave the mouse turned ON, the battery would die like it had no energy saver, AUTO_OFF, but that seems to be ok now, maybe it was an update.
This mouse has worked great for gaming, and everyday computing,
it even charges when the PC turned off, as long as the PC has power to it (EG... plugged in, Power strip on)
My brother and I both have one.
Comes with a USB Extension cable for the wireless transmitter not mentioned in the specs.

I searched everywhere on the internet for a mouse that would be the most comfortable for constant use every day in a work environment. That was the only requirement. Extra buttons and wireless features were an added bonus. I believe that this mouse is the best mouse for anyone with a large hand and who uses a computer at a desk all of the time.
The positive aspects:
*Fits good for people with large hands.
*It's not flashy, but it goes well with those who favor a black and modern theme. Would go well in most offices.
*The extra buttons are a great boost in productivity - and the program that allows you to set them is well made. I programmed one button for 'select all', one for 'copy', and one for 'paste'.
*The battery compartment is for normal rechargeable AA's.
*The wireless performance is pretty good.
*You can replace the pads on the bottom if they wear down.
*The scroll wheel can be set for smooth scrolling or for scrolling based on notches.
The negative aspects:
*Unless you purchase more rechargeable batteries, the single rechargeable battery *might* get you through one day at the office, or for a limited gaming session. I often plug the cable in for charging and I forget it was left in the next day, so I don't mind the limited wireless feature.
*The wireless receiver has to be really, really close to the mouse. This isn't like a normal wireless receiver that you can leave at the back of your computer - it's line-of-sight.
*The software for configuring the mouse is not compatible with Linux! I doubt that Logitech will support Linux anytime soon, even as people start gaming on the platform. I have not looked into crowdsourced solutions - if there are any. The mouse *will work* on Ubuntu - I tested it - but the mouse is not configurable from from within Ubuntu (as far as I know). One solution: Install the software and configure the mouse on a windows machine (creating presets and stuff), save that to the onboard mouse memory, and then plug it into the Ubuntu machine. That way you can switch between presets using the mouses' controls, even if it's not a windows machine.
Several notes:
-The software places reminders on your computer screen in the top-right corner when the batteries get low.
-Some people note that their "gearshift" button (the mechanical button that engages or disengages the clicking effect on the scroll wheel) has broken (in other reviews). I don't use that button much so it hasn't happened to me.
-This mouse is the largest mouse that I have ever used - by a lot - perhaps the R.A.T. customize-able mouse is the only one that is larger.
-If you have other Logitech products that use the gaming software, this mouse easily fits into a slider next to your existing product.
-The scroll wheel itself is wonderful, clearly made out of high-quality materials. The scrolling is so smooth that it's something you have to experience for yourself
-Once you find a preset that you like for most everyday applications, you won't worry about switching or configuring anything.
-The grip on the mouse is wonderful.
Was it worth the price? Definitely

Great Gaming Mouse! Fits Hand Like a Glove.

(Pros) I have used nothing but Logitech peripherals for 15+ years and this is the best mouse I have ever used. Not only are the many buttons great for gaming (assigning your in-game actions to the mouse will transform your gaming experience) but also for everyday computing. You might not get much utility out of the extra buttons when using desktop applications, but you will love how this mouse fits your hand like a designer glove. It's the best ergonomically designed mouse I have seen on the market.
(Very Minor Con) The original software that shipped several years ago with the older G700 was not that great, but fortunately they abandoned that application and rolled the G700 and G700s into the LGS application used by Logitech gaming keyboards. I like the software interface, but Logitech seems to be a little slow about releasing preconfigured profiles for newly released games. These profiles are a list of in-game actions and their corresponding keystrokes, allowing you to drag an action (say reload) to a mouse or keyboard button (in my case the middle mouse button). In the long run, their slowness to release new profiles is not that big of a deal because you can do it yourself in under 5 minutes by logging into the game, writing down all the in-game actions and their keystrokes, and then input them into the software. Not a big problem, it's just the only thing that keeps this mouse from being perfect.
(Summary) Hands down, this is a great mouse. I love the buttons, the way it perfectly fits your hand, wireless RF, and its weight.

I purchased this mouse to replace my logitech G9 gaming mouse. Its very fast and accurate and the buttons are conveniently located in very ergonomic positions and are highly customizable, I like the button layout much more than the G9. The wireless mode is very fast and I notice no performance difference between it and wired mode, but what really breaks the deal is the cheap eneloop low mAh battery included, logitech could have easily gave us a better longer lasting battery maybe even a lithium ion battery, luckily its a battery you can replace on your own just make sure its NiMH. Included battery lasts about 9 hours if you use a moderate power saving profile on the mouse (like gaming normal). Another reason I took out 1 star is because the included usb cable that you would use to power your mouse in wired mode is very stiff. The cable is so stiff it really makes the mouse less fluid because you can feel a bit of resistance when moving left and right. I wish this mouse had a cable like the G9, thin and flexible and reinforced with a braided nylon covering for strength. Also the mouse feels great in terms of weight, but some may find that the mouse is too heavy or light and perhaps adding the ability to customize weights would make this mouse more like its premium predecessors. Otherwise this is a really nice wireless mouse and I'd definitely recommend it.

Cons: Cord is a little stiff. Battery life is a little short.
Pros: All the buttons, so many to choose from, it's really nice. The Logitech gaming software may not be the greatest but it's definitely better than some others I have seen. I chose this mouse because of the fit. I checked out a couple of mechanical mice and this one fit the best. It was also a good price and on sale when I got it. It's very good.

Great mouse, love the software that allows me to set up profiles for each game. Easy to use, easy to install. There are two drawbacks that keep it from a perfect score.
1 - Battery life is only so-so. It lasts a day or two per charge, which because it can be used while charging (and charges quickly) isn't that big a deal for me.
2 - The charging cord is stiff. This is a very minor complaint, except that I use it fairly often. YMMV, it doesn't really matter much to me.
These two drawbacks are noticeable, but not major, and if I were reviewing only for myself wouldn't be enough to drop it a star. If you are like me and they don't bother you, this mouse is very hard to beat. Overall an outstanding mouse especially for the money, and I would easily recommend it over the competition especially at its price level.

I found the G700 to be a good match for what I needed. It has several programmable buttons, and operates wirelessly and wired.
There is a USB lead cable for the wireless dongle, so you do not have to worry about a bad connection, you can place the dongle in a spot that has a clear LOS. It also comes with a USB micro charger, so you can continue to use the mouse when the battery runs low.
I have USB ports on my LCD monitor so I run both the dongle and the charger from there, both easy to reach.
Pros: Operates wirelessly or wired. A good amount of buttons to program. USB lead cable to place dongle in a suitable position. Not to expensive compared to other programmable mice.
Cons: Battery dies quickly. I find some of the buttons are placed where I can't help but hit them by accident occasionally.

This gaming mouse is very smooth to use, very comfortable to my hand, and it has an in lockable scrolling wheel, which basically makes the wheel move freely instead of on a gear. It's very enjoyable gaming with this mouse. I love it. Only issue is that it drains batteries very quickly. I have to charge it daily. The plus side is that this mouse can be plugged in and charging, and still be used wirelessly with your PC. So there's never actual down time, while waiting for it to charge. I bought mind when it was on sale, I'd wait to buy one till' it's on sale. A great mouse.

I really like this mouse overall. The fact that it's rechargeable for the same price as a non-rechargeable Razr is pretty good (I bought two $80 Razr Nagas last year and they both broke within 12 months from normal use - worst mice I've ever owned). I've custom-configured the buttons in my games to give much faster control and access to game functions. This is awesome for MMOs and games like Mount and Blade, where a few mouse clicks at the onset of a battle sets up all of my orders, rather than picking for keys on the keyboard.
First complaint is the scroll wheel. There may be an option to change the sensitivity, but it is super-sensitive and just spins endlessly. This is great for gaming when you have fast-scrollwheel features like zoom, but it stinks when you're trying to surf the web or do work on your PC, and you bump the scroll wheel and end up in a totally different place in the document. Then you have to go searching for your place back. This is kind of a minor thing, I've adjusted to it and am pretty good about not having this happen anymore, but it was very frustrating the first week (I work from home on the same PC as my gaming PC).
Second is the battery. Not sure what's going on. There is zero indication of battery life. My understanding was that there were LEDs to tell you on the side when it was time to charge, but the only way that I've ever known to plug the charger in was when the mouse went dead during a gaming session or when I'm in the middle of doing something. Not hard to grab the cord from on top of the computer and plug it in and keep going, but its annoying because this should be basic for any rechargeable wireless device. Also, the last full charge I had seemed really short. I've only had this mouse for about a month and I've gone through three charges (heavy use obviously), but the last time it just seemed short.
Other than those two minor complaints, I really dig this mouse. Much more sturdy than the competitor's mice that I've owned.

my husband is and advanced PC gamer and was in need of a new mouse for his new computer, He plays mostly blizzard games and like the fact he can have so many buttons to program onto his mouse, he likes that is wireless as well, it holds it charge for about 3 days, but he plugs it in every night to make sure he doesn't lose charge. it will still work while plugged in, something I was worried about when purchasing.

Pros:
1. 3 banks of button programming you can save.
2. You can save one set of buttons onto the mouse directly, which enables that set to work on any computer you plug it in to.
3. Wireless and wired operation, no difference between the two in terms of performance.
4. Adjustable DPI works on the fly.
5. Allows you to change ANY (and I mean any) setting on this mouse through the Logitech software. You can even turn off buttons, button banks, etc.
6. Easy to access battery light indicator and the charging cable is is very easy to plug in to the mouse (the end is fitted with some plastic that makes it easy to do without looking)
7. All other great Logitech mouse options that we're used to having are included here such as the free scrolling wheel toggle.
Cons:
My wireless experience is about 4 hours. Luckily this is a Ni-Mh AA battery so it should be very easy to replace but out of the box, I'm charging this mouse almost every day. My old. MX100 PRO would work for months without a charge. It could be the battery that it's shipped with though so i won't knock off a star just yet.
Summary:
Get this mouse if you're a gamer and like the option of wired or wireless. Get this mouse if you're a programmer and like lots of button to shortcut things like paste and copy and cut. IF you NEED wireless 100% skip it. Otherwise this mouse is extremely customizable, semi-heavy enough to track easily on most surfaces and all the buttons are well placed. It's a Logitech so you'll have good support, warranty and years of design experience into this product.

I am a gamer and I own two of these - one for my ASUS PC and one for my ASUS laptop. This mouse has an excellent response time for a wireless. I've used wired before and I see no perceptible difference in response. A full charge typically lasts 8-10 hours. The charging cable is nearly perfectly located. I hardly ever remove the cable as it seldom interferes with my play. However, I would have placed it a mere 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher to remove the occasional cable drag. For the macro enthusiasts and key binders there are plenty of buttons to program. You can pay more for more programmable buttons, but most of us wouldn't use the extra buttons anyways. This mouse is an excellent choice. Did I mention I own two?

Great gaming mouse, but....

I bought this after returning the G602 Proteus core mouse Logitech makes because that was to small and uncomfortable for my large hands. The G700s feels great on the other hand. The buttons are placed well, and the response time is super fast....at least I have yet to encounter an issue with mouse lag when gaming. The unfortunate thing is that this mouse has some big flaws, starting with the rechargeable battery. I'e owned my G700s for almost a month and the battery already won't hold a full charge and dies very quickly. Secondly, the plastic gliders underneath the mouse to help it move smoothly across the surface its on have already worn out and need replacing. The final short-coming is the cord that comes with the mouse. It's convenient to be able to plug this in when the battery needs charging and still play your games or whatever you're doings, but the length is rather short IMO and could benefit from being made 12-18" longer.
With all that said, I'd rate the G700s a 3.5 star mouse. It's aesthetically pleasing, comfortable for large hands, and has incredibly fast response time. The buttons are also well placed, but the battery and gliders will die quickly, and the cord that comes with the mouse could be a little longer. Al in all, I would recommend this to a friend.

I really like this mouse but... the battery life is definitely lacking. It's about 8-10 hours or use and I find myself recharging every 2 days or so. I do like the fact that it can plug in and be used as a wireless mouse in the interim. Due to space constraints a wireless works best right now, but I will definitely switch to a wired once I get a new desk. It has 1 eneloop batter so it's also very light. I think I like a heavier mouse and it being able to take either 1 or 2 batteries for weight purposes would have been a nice touch.

I had another cheap 20 dollar mouse I was using for everyday pc use and gaming. Bought this at random because I liked that the mouse could be wired or wireless/recharged. Super glad I bought this, and I like how I can adjust scroll speeds and set the buttons to do different commands. Currently it's being used with my mac flawlessly while I build my new pc, would recommend to anyone interested in a nice gaming mouse that doesn't mind that you can't change the mouse weight.

I brought this mouse on sale for 69.99 and for that price it was a great buy. It has just enough buttons for all my games. the wired option is a nice feature as well and the software is very easy to use and configure, allowing for detailed mouse customization. the ability to switch profiles on the fly is a nice touch as well. so you can program a gaming mode and browsing mode and not have to constantly access the software to switch back and forth or maybe run multiple setups for a single game. Only reason it gets a three star rating is that it chews through batteries in wireless mode. using the stock battery at the maximum gaming setting at a full charge i was able to get about 8 hrs of usage; gaming and browsing. Charging it when idle, turning down the DPI by configuring a browsing profile that was less demanding, and turning the mouse off when not in use extended operation time of the battery. Yet there was still a need to swap or charge almost daily. using a higher grade rechargeable i am able to run at mid range for about two days before needing to charge or swap. charging was as simple as just plugging the mouse into the included usb cord Aside from that one issue this mouse was a good buy for 70 dollars. it has a nice weight to it, glides nicely on any surface, and the laser is responsive. If like me you forget to charge or just do not want to be bothered charging everyday definitely keep a few extra rechargeable batteries handy.

So I was torn between this and razor mice. Since I don't do that many MMO's this was perfect. Allows me to have a few programmable buttons for the games I do play. The ability to keep it wireless unless charging is needed is great. On the fly mouse sensitivity is great for gaming. Being able to slow it down for sniping, to instantly speeding it up for close quarters. Also allows you to have programmable profiles for each game you play as well

I read all the reviews stating that the battery life was really short, and I have to agree for the most part. I leave the included charging cable near the device to connect it when it starts to die which happens every 2 to 4 hours with regular use. Good news is you can still use it while connected. The cable is not very malleable, but it works well enough to not slow me down. It's a negative but not a deal breaker. There are a lot of things to like though. I enjoy having so many buttons to program and use for many different things. I have macro keys on my keyboard (Corsair Strafe RGB), but I switched a few to the mouse because they are easier and faster to use. That is the main plus of this device. Some things are a bit glitchy like the automated profiles for programs. It only works occasionally. Also the mouse can drop in DPI after a restart of the PC sometimes. Again, these things annoyed me a bit when I initially bought the mouse, but I wouldn't return it because they aren't regular occurrences. The ability to use all the buttons is just too good. Especially for the price. I also love the free scroll wheel. I use it ALL THE TIME. Get the mouse but only if you want the macro keys. Otherwise, I'd look at something else.
