    Good remote

I have both the harmony one and this remote, while it doesn't have as many features or quality of the One remote, the 650 does the job adequately. I'd say it's a good value if you get it on a sale. Only negatives I have are the remote will reset if dropped at times depending on the fall. Also if it begins to reset itself without dropping the remote that means you need to change the battery. The lack of battery meter is astonishing but is only a minor annoyance.

On the plus side, very easy to set-up for the basics...gets a little difficult with advanced settings. You can turn on all devices with one button. The dimly back lit keys do help a little. On the negative side, I don't have large hands/fingers, but I found the keys/buttons to be too small and too close together...I'd rather have less seldom used keys and get rid of that goofy window. Some of the most used TV keys could be located in better positions. The only reason that I kept it is because of the one button turn-on, otherwise, I still like better and use my larger key cable remote more often.

Love this remote, a coworker gave me the idea. When my coworker mentioned this remote I thought this was not possible. After using 5 remotes for my living room and bedroom, this remote is awesome. Easy to use. It takes some time to program how you would like and so worth it. Definitely will be buying another for my boyfriends house.

I can't really rate the durability because I've only had the remote for a few weeks. This is my second Harmony remote - I have a Harmony One in the living room that I love but I couldn't bring myself to spend the cash for a second one in the lesser-used basement rec room. The 650 fit the bill. It uses the same setup software as the One. Speaking of that, make sure you download or install the Logitech Remote Setup 7.7 - it's free, and it's much easier that the alternative online setup method Logitech also offers. The local software is fairly intuitive but does include an interactive help function and chat/email/telephone support. I have two small gripes here: First, I have to establish a separate account for each remote and must remember two user names and passwords. Logitech really needs to update the software to allow multiple remotes under a single account. It would also be nice if I could copy devices from one account to another, but the accounts are entirely separate. And while the setup went well overall, I had to make a timing adjustment that wasn't readily obvious. Technicial support had an answer for me in 24 hours that worked perfectly. So, setup gripes aside, it's a great remote. Press one button, like watch movie, and all the right devices power up, adjust to the proper settings, and the control functions adjust to operate the appropriate devices (volume adjusts the receiver, play controls the bluray player, etc). If something doesn't work like it should, there's an on-board help function to troubleshoot the problem. While the 650 lacks the finesse and some of the bells and whistles on the One, it does have some customizable buttons. It also uses standard AA batteries, so there's no recharging station to leave out and drive your wife crazy. Much like the One, it won't control a Nintendo Wii, so you'll still have to get off the couch for that. Short version: The 650 is a great remote to run a home theater system, especially if you only have a few devices to worry about and don't want to drop the cash for a Harmony One.

    A good single source remote

This is my first run with a Logitech remote control. Like the software approach to programming and the remote itself is fairly intuitive. While I like the software programming, there are limitations to the commands you may think would be available and you have to dig on-line to find the answers necessary to fine tune the settings. The only other critique so far is the time it takes for the commands to be sent to the various components. There is built-in buffering which really slows down the process, but.... it is better than juggling 3 or 4 different remotes.

    Great Programable Remote

This remote requires that you log on to the internet and attach a USB cable to the remote. The Logitech web site asks you for the model number of your components and it downloads all of the needed codes. It even figures out which component provides audio by asking just a few questions. For example I use my AV receiver for audio and the remote handled that the first time. If you add or change a component, log back on and make the needed changes, no problem. If the remote gets out of sync there's a help function that gets it back in sync very quickly. For example my TV uses the same code for on and off. If the TV's already onand I hit the Watch-TV macro it turns the TV off in error. The remote displays a "Is Everything OK" message and walks you through getting back in sync.

This sucker is awesome! The only thing i don't like about it, is every once in a while it won't turn things on correctly, and you have to hit the help button, then it will fix the issue. Other than that, it works perfectly. Every time i use it, i think to myself how much easier it is than grabbing 5 remotes, because even though some of them are "universal" it seems they can't control all of my components. Not to worry with this remote. Plus my girl friend can figure it out as well, and doesn't have to ask me every time she wants to watch or play something. Wish i would have purchased one a long time ago! G-

you can program this to have just single buttons to turn on multiple components and automatically set them to the right inputs, etc. E.g. switching from watching TV through your cable box to turning on your DVD player. Also has a handy troubleshooting guide to get stuff turned on with the right settings.

    Good remote control

It is one of the best remote controllers out on the market for a budget limited individual. I mainly purchased this remote to control my media pc (Yamaha NeoHD), Cable box, TV and a Blueray DVD player. The remote, which came with my NeoHD, is simply not practical since it required for me to run infrared wires to every device. This logitech remote fix the complication with the Yamaha remote. The interactive display is excellent; it even has a help index. The remote control is simple and easy to handle and it supports almost any electronics gadget on the market. One quick advice would be to go to logitech web site and browse through your own list of devices before you decide to purchase a particular remote. It helps a lot, kind of a peace of mind.

We do not have a complicated set up by any means but for some reason, no one can figure out how to switch between watching satellite and playing Wii! Nevermind trying to juggle three separate remotes and always having to look for ones that go missing... This was a total breeze to set up (minus the fact that their web site was down all Christmas Day). It took less than 10 minutes from start to finish with only a few minor adjustments from their recommended settings and it was working perfect! Since you program the remote online it supports many different devices and is able to keep up with changing technology to extend its own useful life. It also stores all your settings online so you won't loose them in the event of a computer issue. LOVE LOVE LOVE this remote!

Excellent Buy On Sale, Works As Advertised

First off let me start my discussing the price. I had been looking at getting this remote over the past few weeks because I'm temporarily living with family. I have my DVR, HDTV, and the families satellite box hooked up. I was getting tired of using both the Dish and DirecTV remotes, and would always have to switch the TV inputs manually on the TV as the TV remote is boxed up somewhere in storage. From 8/9-8/12, this thing has changed price 5 times within 5 days. It was regular price on Monday, on sale for $42 Tuesday, on sale for $65 Wednesday, back to $42 Thursday, and now $59 Friday. What's up with this Best Buy? When I saw the price online Tuesday, I thought I would go pick it up Thursday while near BB store. Then I saw the change Wed. and wasn't happy, but thought I'd go anyway to check. When I got to the store Thursday, it was regular price at $70, but checked my phone app and it was on sale again for $42. So the store price matched the online price, but they resisted on letting me use my 10% off when the coupon cleared stated it could be used on sale prices. After a little debating on the stupidty and semantics, he gave me the 10% off. Now to the review, after the first attempt to the sync the device it hung up during the process and I had to resync it, which didn't have any further problems. Set up is super easy and if you are missing any commands, you can add them in with ease. After checking to see if the Watch TV command worked, everything worked fine except the volume buttons wouldn't work unless I switched to TV. I was able to quickly fix this problem with the online setup and a resync. I have yet to test on a DVD player (as I no longer have a PS3) nor on a receiver (which is also in storage). WIth that said though, it is working great with the TV, DirecTV, and my Dish DVR 922 Slingbox. I can fully control everything and no longer need to get up out of bed or my chair to go switch the TV inputs. NOTE: if you have a Dish DVR 922, you need to go into the settings of the device and turn on IR remote functionality.

    Excellent Universal remote

I ordered this remote when it was on Thanksgiving sales, normally all universal remotes cannot control the devices as the original remote does, however this remote is the exception. Currently I have this remote controlling my Denon AVR791, Samsung BD3600 BR, Samsung 6300 series TV, and my Direct TV box AND my remote control light switch that I have from home depot, that's right it can control the light switch as long as is a remote control switch. I love my remote and can't believe i been without it all this time I hated having 4 different remotes all over the table now one does all. I highly suggest to buy I got mines for $35 after discounts but now that I see it in action I think $75 is well worth the price.

I never used these kind of remotes before. I got this for thanksgiving sale. Its really worth more than 49.99. I have HDTV, Home Theater and WDTV LIVE PLUS. I went through the set up software(I got Win 7). Set up was very easy for me and added models one by one and customized some buttons for my WDTV. So far so good. Thanks BB and Logitech. I recommend it for who got few devices.

The hardest thing about this remote was finding all the model numbers on my devices. It was so easy to program. My wife thought it was going to be hard to learn all the buttons, but now I have a hard time getting her to give up the remote now. Its wonderful You want to watch a movie push a button it turns on and off the right devices and changes the channels on the TV, want to listen to music push a button it turns on the stereo and turns off the TV and Cable box.So simple wish I had done this sooner I would recommend this to anyone That want to get rid of all those remotes

I have been wanting a harmony remote for a few years now and Best Buy was nice enough to put the Harmony 650 on sale, so away I went. I can't believe how quick this was set up and how easy it was to do. With in 10 mins of getting home, I was surfing with my harmony. It to a bit to move me to spend 50 bucks on a all in one remote, but after doing so, I would have spent a hunderd! One of the coolest features is that when you pick it up, it automatically lights up. Amazing! The online set up is a snap and even the most tech challanged will have no problem doing it. No harder than plugging your digital camera into your computer and downloading pictures. It's all about the USB.

I bought this device as part of the Black Friday specials that BB was offering. It was such a good price and I have been really pleased with how well it functions. I've actually gone so far as to have taken the batteries out of the four controllers that littered the coffee table in the TV room and put them all in storage! Setting up the controller to work with everything took an hour or so, but the instructions warn you that's the case. I also found it necessary to tweak settings on the controller a few times to get it to do exactly what I wanted it to do. But the good news is that you can in fact tweak the device very precisely. A great product and at the sale price, an outstanding buy.

When I heard about the "activity commands", I was excited. It seemed like a perfect solution for family members who don't know how to change inputs, select this and that, etc... I was expecting to spend hours getting the activities programmed, but the web-based interface worked flawlessly. It recognized all my devices when I entered the model numbers, and the process of setting up the activities was easy and intuitive. The activities worked exactly as expected the first time. I''m very pleased. This is a great device for the price.

I was never sure if this would be worth around $80, but I bought it online the week before Black Friday for around $35. Now that I own it, I think I would pay full retail price because it is definitely worth it. Right now I have it controlling my TV, cable box, AppleTV, Bose home theater, and it's programmed to switch the TV to inputs for Xbox One and WiiU. Overall took probably 30 minutes to get it setup on their website and then I had some issues getting it to turn on the Bose (needed to add a delay manually on the remote and not online). My wife hates clutter so it's also a big bonus to go from 3 remotes (TV/cable, Bose, AppleTV) to one.

Bought this remote today. skeptical on how good it would work. had universal remotes before that were junk. took about 30 minutes to program the remote online. tried it out and it works flawlessly so far. runs every function of every piece of equipment i have. Samsung TV, Onkyo rec., Onkyo DVD, Direct Tv w/dvr. the only thing it won't run is my xbox, says you need to purchase additional equipment. that's ok because you can still put in the function to "play game" and it will switch to all the correct inputs on tv and reciever. then you can just turn on xbox with your wireless remote :) love it so far, got rid of 4 remotes and the wife is happy...would highly recommend
