Thought I was going to be able to add this to my list of really enjoyable British crime/caper movies but it wasn't meant to be. Colin and Keira deliver decent performances and Ray Winstone mails in his (no spoiler alert) performance as a hard edged British crime boss. The pace ebbs and flows making it drag at times.

i am a very big fan of Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell, that was why I purchased this movie (it was also very cheap) and while I did not expect much, it met my expectations. It is a gritty thriller that while was watchable, was not something I might watch over and over.

I didn't care much about the characters and the ending was predictable, seen many times before.

In London Boulevard, Colin Farrell's ex-con character Mitchel is released from a three year stint in prison and eased back into an illegal side of life with help from his friend Billy (played by Ben Chaplin).
While at a party celebrating his release, Mitchel has an altercation with an old "friend" that attracts the attention of Penny (played by Ophelia Lovibond), who is friends with a reclusive actress named Charlotte (played by Keira Knightley) needing protection from an endless swarm of prying paparazzi.
As Mitchel and Charlotte become romantically involved, his old life refuses to loosen its grip and slowly starts to tighten the noose, threatening to destroy everything he has.
Absolutely love this stylish film. If you enjoy the old British crime flicks from the 60s/70s, you'll love London Boulevard.
Violent, visceral, and full of wit.

Written and directed by the screenwriter of 'The Departed', fans of the latter film could give this one a see. Farrell and Knightley play well on rommance, Ray Winstone as the bad guy is good; Cut and dry British crime drama with great sets & locale, no memorable moments, near predictable in select parts as a crime drama. Fans of any listed actor may enjoy, but the movie could pass for an old TV plot.
