I recently purchased the MacBook Air from Best Buy, and I am thoroughly impressed. Right out of the box, the design of the MacBook Air stands out with its ultra-slim profile and lightweight build, making it the perfect companion for on-the-go tasks. The Retina display is stunning, offering vibrant colors and sharp text that is easy on the eyes during long work sessions.
Performance-wise, this laptop is a powerhouse. Equipped with the latest Apple silicon, it handles everything from basic browsing to more intensive tasks like video editing with ease and efficiency. The battery life is phenomenal – I can go through an entire day of work without needing a charge. The keyboard is comfortable and responsive, which is a huge plus for someone who types a lot.
Another significant aspect is the macOS experience. It's user-friendly, secure, and integrates seamlessly with my other Apple devices, enhancing productivity and convenience. The speakers also deserve a mention for their clear and robust sound quality, which is impressive for a laptop of this size.
In summary, the MacBook Air from Best Buy is an excellent investment for anyone seeking a blend of performance, portability, and premium build quality. It's well-suited for both professionals and casual users alike, making it a versatile choice in the laptop market.

I purchased this to use for recording music, and I have to say it's been excellent! The laptop is super fast, had plenty of storage, the picture quality is stunning for a lower end model, and it does everything I need it to do and more! The only thing it is lacking is more USB connectivity; however this can easily be accomplished with a USB hub. The battery life always amazes me, I have never owned a laptop that will go this long between charges (typically a few days with moderate us (using a DAW for recording music). I absolutely LOVE this MacBook Air!!

M1 Macs are a Great Value in 2023

I was tired of using my heavy (but functional) 2009 MacBook Pro, which has dwindled to only about 3 hours of useful battery life. I was also tired of getting kinks in my neck from relying too much on my iPad (yeah, I can stand it up on a cushion but without a keyboard connected I was too often holding it like a bulky iPhone with the neck pain to show for it). I bought this 2020 MacBook Air (M1) because it was a great deal on clearance. In addition to vastly improved battery life — I only have to charge my MacBook Air every other day! — the early Apple Silicone Macs have the advantage of offering Rosetta (which means unlike future M2 models it can, for example, make use of Microsoft Office 2021 that also runs on Intel).
I like how fast it is and the quality of the audio speakers and the screen. That said, this MacBook Air M1 freaked me out in that the first time I opened the laptop up it booted right away. I was asking myself if Apple was really crazy enough to eliminate the power button (like they eliminated the floppy disk and the optical drive back in the day, lol) until I realized that the TouchID button on the upper right serves the same purpose.
This MacBook Air runs cold and quiet (no heat, no fans). It reminds me of using an iPad in that sense. Everything feels solid and well made. However, I was unprepared for the fact that the MacBook Air, when unboxed for the first time, smelled very strongly like mildew. C'mon Apple, would it kill you to put silica packs in the box considering that these products are made in extremely humid Southeast Asian countries?
One negative is that there are only two ports on the side, including the charging port. Coming from the MacBook Pro I am accustomed to having options! I also would caution anyone buying a 2020 or later Mac to realize that everything internally is soldered together. There is nothing replaceable, not even the hard drive. If something fails, it's landfill waste. I guess that's one way to sell more AppleCare!
Macs are becoming more and more like iOS devices every day, not just in terms of a similar GUI (macOS) but in terms of how they are constructed internally ("SoC"). I am happy with my first upgrade in many years but I suspect that within a year or so when first-generation Apple Silicone owners begin experiencing hard drive problems and learn that nothing is replaceable, the "honeymoon" will wear off. Apple should offset these changes by offering more generous amounts of RAM and higher hard drive capacity given that none of it is upgradable after the fact. (For example, the model I bought has a skimpy 256GB internal hard drive with 8GB RAM. Apple should offer no less than 512GB and 12GB RAM going forward.)
For existing MacBook Air owners, repair/upgrade limitations are nothing new. But given that the M1/M2 extends these. limitations across the entire range of MacBook laptop and desktop products, there is less reason for the average user to buy a MacBook Pro anymore because you're not picking up a slew of extra ports or the ability to make upgrades/repairs internally, unlike the MacBook Pros from the Intel era.
All in all if you buy these M1/M2 products in the understanding that they are essentially souped up iPads, you're good.

Windows user’s first Mac

As someone who has used windows all their life, I was very hesitant too buy this because my experiences with macs (at school and at work) never really left me in awe. In fact, I hated how limiting they can be. Now as an owner, I still feel that way to some degree (a lot has been frustrating with the system) but the computer is very beautiful, fast, lightweight, the battery life is great, and so far I have not regretted the purchase. I still miss many aspects of my windows laptops, but I guess this will do for now.

This is my first MacBook Air. I was always a Windows user so it took a bit getting use to as far as commands for specific things but it was easy to figure out or look it up online. Battery life is phenomenal. The display is beautiful. This MacBook Air M1 is very fast. No lag time when using different software or surfing the web. The size of this is perfect and very light weight. The speakers are great. My only issue with it is MS Excel is really wonky. MS Word and OneNote works fine. Haven’t had use PowerPoint yet so I’m not sure if it works smoothly.

Worth every dollar! The laptop works flawlessly in every aspect. The laptops performance is super fast and buttery smooth.
The display is so crispy! The only con for me was the factory color setting were a little monotone for me. If you want more color like me you can alter the color settings easily and make it pop a lot more.
The exterior feels so premium and solid. Holding the laptop in your hands feels so premium, it will make you scared to hold it longer than 15 seconds at a time before putting it on a flat and secure surface. It feels a lot more expensive than the actual price of the laptop itself.
Switching from windows to macOS was a little difficult at first, but with a little time it all blends together so intuitively and now it’s second nature to me working with macOS. Another plus, having a I phone and pairing your phone with your laptop so you can FaceTime and message while your doing work on your laptop is SOOO convenient!! That feature alone can be the selling point.
The battery life is really decent. Definitely lasts up to the time stated in the product performance info. It can actually last longer sometimes depending on what apps your running.
One big con for me is there are not a lot of ports on this laptop. It only offers two USB-C ports and a headphone Jack. However, you can buy a multiport attachment with hdmi, USB, USB-C, and SD card slot but it would have been nice to automatically have that as standard.

The Apple MacBook Air M1 is an exceptional laptop that delivers impressive performance and incredible power efficiency. Its integration of Apple's custom M1 chip brings a significant boost in speed and responsiveness, allowing for smooth multitasking and efficient handling of demanding tasks. The laptop's sleek design remains unchanged, featuring a stunning Retina display with vibrant colors and excellent clarity.
The battery life on the MacBook Air M1 is outstanding, offering hours upon hours of usage on a single charge. Whether you're browsing the web, working on documents, or even engaging in light gaming, the battery easily keeps up with your needs.
The keyboard is a pleasure to type on, providing a comfortable and responsive experience. The trackpad is large and precise, allowing for smooth and effortless navigation. The laptop also boasts excellent connectivity options, including Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports for fast data transfer and external display support.
One downside to consider is the limited number of ports, which may require the use of adapters or hubs for some users. Additionally, the laptop's storage is not upgradable, so choosing the appropriate storage capacity at the time of purchase is crucial.
Overall, the Apple MacBook Air M1 is a superb choice for anyone in need of a powerful and efficient laptop. Its impressive performance, outstanding battery life, and sleek design make it a top contender in the market.

Okay, so I've owned this laptop going on two years now and let me just say that it's been the best two years ever. Coming from an HP which was 15 inches, extremely heavy for toting around, and slow, this MacBook checks all of those issues off easily. I thought the 13 inch would be too small but it's perfect and Im never going back. Between it being lightweight, holding a long charge, and being very quick to responding, I have no complaints. With the new macOS Sonoma update it's just gotten even better and I hope to have it for years to come. Just a few things:
Firstly, it's extremely quiet. Again, coming from an HP that used to overheat and have an extremely loud fan, I forget that the MacBook is even actually on if I step away for a minute.
Secondly, the display is great! Between watching a YouTube video, being on FaceTime, or on zoom, this things looks amazing at all times.
Lastly, the features it comes with are awesome and make using the laptop even better. Being able to be connected to my phone, seeing messages, notes, reminders, etc is very useful.
Overall, I have no complaints and I highly recommend this laptop to anyone looking for a new one.

It’s an excellent laptop for college. It starts up really fast, battery can last a good 2-3 days with no charging, you can have multiple tabs and editing applications open with no overheating and you don’t even have to worry about the fan going off like a helicopter in the middle of class since it has a chip. Overall, it’s a 10/10 for me.

I got the base model. Works great. Real fast. the battery lasts long and doesn’t get hot with most tasks. Lots of video rendering will get it to heat up. Since I’m doing more video editing and rendering than I expected, I should have gotten a Pro and more than 256 gigs. I have to do a lot of data management, uploading to the cloud, and saving large files to external hard drives. If you get an Air, at least get 512 gigs in case you want to run Parallels to put Windows on it which I should have done in the first place.

After using the MacBook Air for a year, I’m extremely satisfied with its performance. The M1 chip delivers fast, efficient processing for everyday tasks, and the battery life is outstanding, often lasting a full day on a single charge. Its sleek, lightweight design is perfect for portability, and the Retina display is sharp and vibrant. The Magic Keyboard and responsive trackpad make it a pleasure to use. While the port selection is limited and the webcam could be better, these minor drawbacks don’t overshadow its excellent overall value as a reliable, everyday laptop

Great laptop if you can get a deal on it
If it was full price for a 2020 model, with 8gb of ram, and a 256 SSD, this laptop wouldn't have been in consideration in my search. Best Buy had a great deal on it a month ago. I am already in the "Apple Eco-System" so toggling things between my iPad, phone, and MacBook is seamless and fast, just convenience. The 8gb of ram sounds like a joke in 2023 but if you're just doing some basic tasks, ie; a few safari tabs, notes open, test taking, etc, its not going to slow down, its enough since the OS is great at being efficient with that kind of stuff. The soldered on SSD was also concerning but again if you're not a power user downloading a lot of large files I'm sure it'll last a long time. The battery life is great, I have no issue getting a few days out of it. Build quality is also the greatest I have felt personally and while the keyboard is different that anything I've used in the past (mechanical, brown switches) after a month of use I started to like it a lot. Some other small things I've noticed, its VERY thin, not too heavy in a backpack, speakers are loud and sound great, the screen gets fairly bright and is nice to look at, trackpad hasn't been an issue when using different gestures, touch ID hasnt failed me yet, webcam quality and mic are average.
If you can get a deal on it and if you're a casual user like myself, I would recommend it all day. I'm in flight school just using it for basic tasks and it does everything that I need it too very well. The only gripe I've had is the 2 USB-C ports, I guess its something you sacrifice with the form factor. Personally I would've given up a few millimeters of its profile and thinness to get some more ports and ease of use. Keep in mind one is used for charging so you only have 1 open port if that time comes

I'll try to keep it short. Prepare for a thorough adoration rant. Leave now if you're not a fan lol.
This is the first computer I've ever owned that just plain works, Without fail. At all times. It's blazing fast. It's bug-free. A little light on memory but I just don't care. Love not needing cooling vents, the first laptop I know of that you can actually put on your lap and not worry about cooling issues. The magic keyboard is magic, the touch and feel is great. The backlight lets me use it outside without the porch light on so the bugs aren't as bad. No data connections but lightning (USB-C) but I don't care, I just buy adapters as I need them. I JUST LOVE that it has a 4.5 mm headphone jack. That rocks for FaceTime or music or privacy. It does everything I need to do, everywhere I need to do it. I love the silver color, it keeps the device cooler in the sun than the space gray option. I don't like gaming but I would like to see how it performs with that just to see if it's possible to really challenge the processor. If it runs out of memory I'll just buy some external memory I guess. I will never buy a PC again even if my life depends on it. It breezes through programs that aren't optimized for macOS Big Sur, which is good because it's new enough that developers haven't adapted to it lots yet. This little dude is an electronic warrior. Get this computer if you just like to get stuff done without drama. Opt for the bigger memory if you're really worried about it. I've had mine for over four months and 256G hasn't been an issue so far. Oh, battery life is amazing. I can power surf or stream or do classwork or word process all day and still have a good amount of juice left over. Save your pennies for however long you need to and get yourself an Apple Silicon computer. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. My experience, my opinion. Thanks for your valuable time. And thank you, Apple.

This MacBook Air with the M1 chip is an incredible performer. Super portable due to its size and weight. Outstanding display quality and incredible battery life. The only knock is the lack of ports. Only 2 USB C/Thunderbolt 4 ports and one will be consumed by the charger when plugged in. You can remedy this with a large choice of external dongles or hubs, but you really shouldn't have to purchase those additional accessories for a near $1000 laptop.
