This has been an amazing computer! The memory and speed are everything I needed to start my business! I bought one for my son to send off to college with as well. He loves his. We had the use the Apple Care once to fix his screen. Great buy! Now I have to buy another because my care was broken into and it was stolen.

I wanted to get into the full Apple ecosystem since I have an iPhone and an iPad so I decided to get a MacBook Air for school. I was able to get one at a good price, and the laptop itself was very light and worked really fast. I was happy with how fast webpages load, and how snappy the MacBook was. I am normally a avid windows user, but this MacBook performs amazing for the test that I needed for my class. I would definitely recommend for someone who wants to get into the Apple ecosystem with all three devices as you can, AirDrop files, photos, and more between devices.

Amazing laptop for my every day usage. It is light to carry, sleek to hold and lightning fast. It is even faster than my MacBook Pro Intel. The battery lasts days and I think this is a MacBook I'll keep for many many years to come.

Faster for video editing and music recording

I have a 2017 MacBook Air but bought this one as a 2nd computer dedicated to video editing and music recording (i do a lot of both). I was curious about the M1 chip and whether it was faster. I have been mostly happy with my purchase. The machine is sleek, smaller and lighter than my previous one, and the rose gold is a fun addition. I can tell the videos export considerably faster, and in general i don't think i've had a "candy wheel" spinning at any point so far, which has been the case with my other MacBook. I didn't give it 5 stars only because i've had some problems with imovie just suddenly not playing sound when i scrub (i need this for video edits) and it's been annoying as i've had to wait, or close and reopen imovie, or restart the computer. I did a software update and the problem seemed to be fixed, but then it started happening again.

Great Battery Life

A fantastic laptop for people that want the daily computing basics with a fully functional desktop OS (i.e., not Android, Chrome, or iOS), but with the reliability and dependability of a Mac. It's quieter and more efficient than its predecessors, and Touch ID is a great implementation of biometric security if you're not a fan of camera-based alternatives. I prefer the MagSafe charging solution and the additional ports included with the beefier MacBook Pros from late 2021, but this is alright for a cheaper, older model.
It's also notably lighter and slimmer than the MacBook Pro if that matters to you, and the battery life to power ratio is great. That said, I'm sticking with my 14" MBP. This is a good option if you don't need the ports, display, and power of the more expensive MacBooks, though.

I generally have been using my Macbook Pro from 2018... my wife has hers from 2015. This is for the kids for school... more than what they need for sure! Fast, quiet, lightweight, and inexpensive. Highly recommend for anyone regardless what they are using it for!

Last year I bought an iPad Pro for photo editing with my mirrorless sony camera, but I found me wanting more in the operating system department as I also use it as a bed computer and have had a Macbook Pro 15 inch from 2015 that recently bit the dust so I was wanting to have the MacOS experience back. Recently I also bought a DJI Air 2S, and the iPad Pro was absolutely fine for the job, but I wanted faster. This thing absolutely does what I need it to do, and with no sweat or worry either!
Not only that, battery life is incredible, I have a Alienware laptop with a 3070 in it and it only lasts maybe an hour off the plug doing basic tasks, while this can easily last me 14-15 hours on a single charge off the wall. This thing is also stupid fast, my gaming desktop with a i7 and 3090 will take longer to load up applications than this will. Obviously though, if you're looking for something to game with, this can't compete. It will outrank anything with integrated graphics however.
This thing is incredible, and for 749 you really cant go wrong with it if you're in the market for a completely silent and fast laptop of this caliber.
Only thing is storage size, 256gb nowadays is pretty paltry but I have a couple terabytes in external NVMEs that I can utilize if need be, and my other machines have tons of storage that I can transfer the files to, so my use case is fine with 256gb. You'll also be perfectly fine with 256gb if all you do is web browse/email/edit a few things here and there or have lots of disposable storage like I do

Much faster than I expected. Transferring files between external and internal drives is ridiculously fast. Smoothness of operation is startling. Operating system hasn't hiccupped yet. Screen is brightest yet, and clear, too. CON: having only 2 USB-C ports, both on the same side, is very limiting. BUT all the adaptors/dongles I've used thus far work perfectly without lag. And battery life is CRAZY!

Apple really knocked the M1 Macbook Air out of the park. The sleek form factor makes it easy to carry around by hand or in a bag, battery life is outstanding and I love that the MBA doesn't have a built-in fan (no more annoying fan noise!). Performance is extraordinarily good, no complaints with anything I throw at it.
I purchased an open box (satisfactory) Best Buy unit and it was in practically new condition.

This laptop is very user-friendly, convenient size, great image quality and works pretty fast. The only downside is memory capacity - if I have a few powerful apps working at the same time and have many tabs open in a browser, it starts lagging and not responding.
After 14 days, I'm still not 100% sure how to turn it off and on, so I would say this feature is not intuitive.
I love the special button for the autofill with a fingerprint feature. It makes signing in and paying very easy and convenient.
Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

I bought this for school, I am a life long windows user and decided to give the Macintosh a shot since it has had a lot of hype behind it because of how capable it is. I have to admit i was a little bit scared at first but i love this mac!! I got the base model for my needs will not extend pass browsers, word, excel, pdf readers, powerpoint and school programs. For all of that it is plenty!! It delivers more than i need. Battery life is impressive coming from windows laptops, it charges fast and lasts a long time. For my usage i have to charge it every other day but it stays on a lot through the day. I have done some gaming with it (league of legends and RuneScape) and it performed well. Nothing compared to my gaming desktop but for some light relaxing simple gaming, I’m impressed and that’s saying a lot for I don’t like to game under 144fps. Overall if you are looking to buy this for school or office usage it will be plenty! Anything more than that you might want to look into the 16gb of ram (I’m talking about video and pic editing) THIS IS NOT A GAMING COMPUTER OKAY? This is for creative work and office/school work.

The online rave reviews convinced me to switch away from windows and buy this MacBook Air M1. This is one amazing computer. For the money this is the fastest, the quietist, longest battery life, best keyboard, best track pad, great aluminum build, excellent screen and it is beautiful to look at. The aluminum and plastic are all recycled materials. macOS Big Sur 11.5.1 is spectacular as well. Recommended.
