I haven't seen this in 20 years. I had originally owned this on VHS back in the day. I picked this up the day I bought the new Star Wars release on Blu-ray. I figured this Mad Max copy would look a lot better than my old grainy VHS copy. I was right. I forgot how corny and violent this movie was as I watched this classic again.

The original Mad Max is an awesome post-apocalyptic action thriller that made Mel Gibson an international star. The film is George Miller's classic action drama set against the Australian outback. Max is the classic protagonist who loses it all and becomes a force of vengeance. Great action recommended for all fans of action films.

There isn't much about "Mad Max" that hasn't been said already, and this new edition on Blu-ray doesn't change that by much--there's a new set of interviews and maybe some features not on the previous MGM release, but otherwise it doesn't look like there's much of a difference between the two. It's still a great action film, and an excellent primer for the new film that's currently out in theaters.

Mad Max is an absolute classic that must be seen if only once, the sequel is far more superior in story granted but watching the original gives you a glimpse at what gave us the Road warrior and why.

Great blu ray. Love the Scream Factory releases. Although There is a 4K transfer by Kino Lorber that I might just upgrade to. Also, Best Buy, baby, when are you Guna get more steelbooks for Mad Max Fury Road?

This was the start of the Mad Max/Road Warrior movies and was just at the start of Mel Gibson's career. It is still great with the gritty realistic filming. It is great to see this classic again that didn't have the advantages of the special effects of today. George Miller made his name with this film.

I remember watching this movie as a kid. With the new release of Fury Road, I was reinvigorated about the Mad Max franchise and picked this up for $7.99. The movie is a classic. It's just as good as before and looks great on blu ray. This edition also comes with a digital copy which I appreciate.

Glorious, fantastic transfer to 4K. Not a Kino Lorber fanboy, but this looks beautiful and crisp, no crazy DNR, great to see on a big screen 4K. Not my favorite Mad Max film, but it was a worthy pickup.

Mad Max looks great for a 40 year old movie. No Dolby Atmos mix but it does have Dolby Vision so picture wise this is the best it'll ever look. Sound is very good but again no Atmos. Highly recommend!

While I am a true fan of all Mad Max, this is the best by far. The storyline can't be beat and knowing how the legend of Mad Max begins makes this the best, followed by The Road Warrior. The others are OK, but the first two are Mel Gibson at his best, or at least close to his best.

This original Mad Max movie starred by Mel Gibson is a classic and a delight to watch. The villain is still the same actor portraying the same character in the latest movie Mad Max: Road Fury.

Was very happy to find that Best Buy had this movie as my grandson wanted to see the original 3 prior to watching the new (and 4th) movie. The original was almost impossible to find, and expensive, until they re-released it, and Best Buy's price beat several competitors.

Love the cover art and all the little collectibles it comes with are really cool. This is the movie that started the franchise, and it holds up really well. If there's anyone reading this who's only seen the newest Mad Max, the older ones are definitely worth checking out.

I think I have owned every version of this ever released and this is a sight to behold. The bigger the screen the more the enjoyment. So good. Action galore and a decent story.

Our first introduction to Mel Gibson in film. An instant classic and great vision from filmmaker George Miller. The first of four movies in an action packed series. May not provide Oscar winning performances, but it does provide action, suspense and awesome cars!

Mad Max is still awesome. We have been searching and searching every store that we could find in order to get this movie on DVD or Blu Ray and add it to our collection. The excitement is still there, just like when I saw the movie for the very first time.

The low budget flick that started a franchise. I don't buy Steel books just because. But when I saw they had redone Mad Max on Blu Ray, and i was an affordable AMAZING looking steel book I had to have it. It isn't everyone's type of movie. But it is a classic.

One of my favorite films available as a best buy Blu ray exclusive steelbook. This is the same Mad Max disc available previously in Steelbook packaging and it does include a digital copy for itunes or UV. Great deal and a great set. "Remember the Nightrider..."

That was the night rider and he's never coming back. I live this movie, my dad recommend it to me when I was younger and I've lived it ever since. I do think the road warrior is a better movie, but the road warrior would not be here without mad max.

This review is for the 4K aspect. The movie it's self is excellent (a cult classic). The 4K presentation is good, not great. If you own the DVD it is worth the upgrade. If you own the Blu-Ray, it's up to you.
