Works Well

Volume up button works 75% of time in normal radio

The installer had not seen this before. I figured out that in Apple Car Play and Android Auto the volume button works perfect. In normal radio, if you push it in and hold it will advance vol fine. These are the 2012 Ford Escape factory steering wheel buttons.

Was very worried that I would lose ability to adjust volume or CD song selection from steering wheel but installer offered this as a way to make it work. I'm very pleased!
