    This item was an unexpected add-on to my new aftermarket stereo. I thought that since I purchased a satellite ready stereo that the installation would be plug and play, but that wasn't the case. The highly skilled geek squader told me that I needed this part to keep my steering wheel functionality working. The steering wheel interface works as expected.
