Customers frequently mention the fun gameplay and engaging story as major highlights of Mafia III. The open world and action sequences also receive positive feedback, with many praising the game's value for its price. However, some players point to issues with the driving mechanics and artificial intelligence. A few also noted that the gameplay can become repetitive after a while.

The game has a lot of pros and cons. The graphic is not good enough, more like a ps3 game like Uncharterd 3, and it cannot compare with Uncharted 4 or even Watch Dog. The story line is perfect, I like it a lot. And the music is absolutely great. For most of the task it's a little dull but it is alright. Hope can have some improvement later so far the enemy AI is strange. Anyway, it still worth a try!

I have been Mafia fan since the release of the first Mafia. The story was always the main attraction of the Mafia games and Mafia 3 is no different. Characters are interesting and the setting is amazing. The main protagonist "Lincon Clay" is a very interesting character, and the period this game takes place is full of history and turmoil. The main problems with this game are two: 1) Glitches: it is 2016 and this game is full of glitches. 2) Missions are repetitive: you either assassin someone, steal something or destroy something. I know it is an open-world game, but come on you can do better. Final note, the graphics of the game sometimes are good and other times are washed out. Also, the combat mechanics are really simple. I turned my setting to hard and still the enemies were easy to kill. Generally, AI in this game was really unintelligent. Only during a few occasions when the enemies attempted to flank me.
If you like a good story and interesting characters, this is the game for you. If you are a GTA fan, this is not GTA. The activities in this games are less entertaining than GTA and there is no online.

I'm not going to get into reviewing the whole game. You can find expert reviews all over the internet. A few things I will say is that the game is good, great story, graphics, controls but as others have mentioned, missions are the same thing over and over again. And the AI is dumber than dirt. I thought Mafia II was better. I would wait until the price drops to buy it.

I picked this game up for under $10 at BB! Great deal! The game itself has great graphics at times & then sometimes looks last gen. The best part is easily the soundtrack. It is quite fun to roam around the game listening to tracks from the 60's, occasionally hopping out of the car to perform missions or simply beat down some thugs. The game is quite fun for short bursts, but can get rather repetitive over longer play sessions. Also there are some really cool collectibles like the Playboy & Hot Rod magazines, Albums and Vargas paintings scattered throughout the game world, that really make you want to find them all. Overall it is a great purchase for under $10. Or under $20 for that matter. Thanks BB!

Great game! Story is ok. Realistic graphics. Driving part is very real and exciting. It's an open world. Take your time and explore and try things out - run around, drive around, then do some story, then do side missions - makes it last a lot longer and very fulfilling! Great shooter. Lots of weapons. Great music from the 60's 70's - you can change channels which driving to hear other songs. Cool cars. I played it for free (borrowed) but liked it so much I had to buy it when it was a reasonable price.

I was concerned with the lowered price as this happens to games with lower quality products. However, I was happy to see it had a good story, good gameplay and the graphics were gteat. I loved the soundtrack they picked out as some of the best music came out of the 60's and early 70's.

Mafia III has a few flaws which can be forgiven because the story, music, gameplay, and the overall experience is better than most open world games (besides GTA of course). If you can look past repetitiveness and a couple non game breaking bugs (which don't pop up that often) it's a great game!
Pros:
Great Story
Highly Detailed Map
Great Characters
Good Combat
Good Driving
Good Stealth
Great Music that will get you hooked
Assigning underbosses rackets and districts is satisfying
Great collectibles
You get to kill racists
Cons:
Mission Repetitiveness
Mission Variety
Game Crashes (Only experienced 3)
The only animals in the game are crocodiles and they are only in the water
Dumb Cops
No motorcycles
You can't jump (you can climb though)
You can't buy clothes (You do change outfits in a few missions though)
Not everything is explained as it should be
Some side missions are glitched and appear before they should waiting your time
Small bugs that didn't change the experience
Final score: 80%

The best part of this game is the story. The game starts off solid. The gameplay is fun but nothing amazing. It is not as good as grand theft auto but it's worth playing it for the story alone in my opinion.

I have watched gameplay and reviews of this video game prior to purchasing it and I must say, after playing it myself after a few missions, it lives up to the hype reviewers made when it initially released. Great storyline and interesting missions; has a very similar but vintage take on Grand Theft Auto games and stands out in the RPG genre.

I gotta say that the story itself is worth playing through, along with a few historical moments that took place in real life. The stealth is great even though Ai sometimes doesn't react properly haha but after a while it does get repetitive, probably boring, especially since you're doing the same thing over & over again. Driving isn't the best, reminds me of Watchdogs (slightly better). If there were more activities to do then it might be worth it more but hey still a good game to play.

Though, I was somewhat skeptical from all the negative reviews and low ratings on IGN and other reviews, I must say I am impressed by this game. I have played this for a week now and I like it very much. The graphics are great, locations are refreshing and the story line is well narrated. All in all, a very enjoyable ride so far.

Favorite game for a long time. Had to wait for the prices to go down. Love the city New Orleans! Louisiana is a special state and to play a game that shows the city in detail, the bayou, the cemeteries, the French quarter. Creole language. The game play is brilliant and the controls easy.

Mafia III has a fair story and subpar gameplay. The 1960's revenge tale isn't all that original but is engaging enough to keep you going throughout the campaign. The era appropriate soundtrack makes for good listening as well.
Unfortunately the game is cursed with some of the dumbest AI seen in any game this decade. There is a mechanic that allows you to pick up and hide bodies. But why bother with that when the enemy AI treats someone's head exploding mid conversation as a mild curiosity? The enemies no matter how numerous never pose much of a danger. A car full of guys with guns shooting at you somehow results in your being wanted by the police. Perhaps most glaringly the game lacks a fast travel system so you'll crisscross the map dozens of times taking long, boring drives from objective to objective. Overall this isn't a terrible game but fell well short of my hopes.

A little disappointed in this game. There is great potential here, but it became boring after a point. The shooting mechanics are great, some of the graphics and environments are quite nice, but there are mechanics that cause issues, such as the driving. You have to drive a lot in this game, and it's often very difficult to control the cars. The braking system is ridiculous, as well as the turning and so forth. I often felt as though my vehicle was wobbling too much and it seemed that you were constantly being thrown back to the car to drive way across town for simple and silly tasks.
The storyline is good, but I started running into too much of a need to grind for upgrades. Grinding can be fun, but not in this game, Very repetitive. Overall, some may like this game, but it just wasn't something I liked or will likely continue to play.
