    Improved but needs More

As a registered owner of previous versions, I was not allowed a discount like everyone else because neither MAGIX nor Xara had my registration on file. Still, when I attempted to register all the other old versions of Movie Edit Pro, I received a prompt saying that I had already registered it. So, I had to pay full price at BestBuy for Movie Edit Pro 2015. Weeks after I registered the product, neither MAGIX nor Xara had a record of it. Still, the software prompt says I have already registered Movie Edit Pro 2015. Same old story. So, I won't be buying anymore MAGIX or Xara software. Anyway, MAGIX Movie Edit Pro is basically the same as the old version except for several fixed bugs and a few extra backgrounds. That's it. They should have fixed the bugs in the older version for free instead of putting out the same software with an updated name and number. It does run smoother. It doesn't crash anymore. But everything else is the same as the old version. I won't buy it again nor will I upgrade. I suggest you download a trial version of it, if you can find one, before you buy it. Also, the technical support is horrible because it's out of Germany, being a German product. You must pay for support. Everywhere you turn, they're asking you to pay them money for every little thing. I would stay away from MAGIX or Xara. I know I am from now on.

Very Good Software for Making Home DVDs

This software helped me to create an .mpg file, which merged several video clips together. It was also easy to add sound tracks and titles. The only draw back was that I was unable to create a DVD that would play on my video player, which was why I gave this product 4 instead of 5 stars. It may be that I did not understand how to create the DVD using this software program. (Nevertheless, I was able to use another software program (DVD Author Plus) to actually create the DVD using the .mpg source file; and, I believe that DVD Author Plus may be available as freeware or shareware.) Together with DVD Author Plus, this software program met my need.

Movie Edit Pro 2015 is a great software for editing short videos. It was a little tricky to get use to the settings, and I'm still figuring out some things, but overall it is easy to use and understand. I love the multiple track options, it makes it easy to add overlay photos or videos onto the main video. It is a much needed upgrade from Windows Movie Maker :)

Serial number did not register with Magix website. Had to download it from Magix at a higher price. Return disc to Bestbuy for store credit. The software is great!

I purchased this software to help me make videos for school, maybe make edit vlogs for YouTube. I havent' had much luck getting a video made that's up to par with the higher echelon of YouTubers. It could be worse, it could be better though.

    Worst Movie editor ever

The software was extremely difficult to use and once I figured out how to use it, it would spend a long time compiling my .mp4's before telling me there was something wrong with the dvd writer drive. Short, 5 minute movie wrote fine. Shareware and freeware wrote fine but lacked features Movie Edit Pro had. There was no support from the maker, you had to join their forums and hope someone, somewhere had an answer. Ended up flushing the software and got Corel instead that created 2hr long movies real easy with no issues or hangups about my drive. Do not waste your time or money on this.

Simple to use edit audio and video. Had to work a bit and teach myself how to keep the audio and edit in a different video clip then return to the original video. Well worth the effort the result was a smooth cut and edit.

Worked on my video project for a few days with no problem. Then, the nexr time I tried to open it up, there were error messages. Took my computer into the store and the tech couldn't figure out what was wrong. He checked online and found out that many people were having the same problem. Best Buy refunded my money for the software.

      Hi Barbiedoll,

Unfortunately we had a problem where DVD's were being burnt with a European PAL menu, this caused problems on some North American DVD players. This problem has now been resolved with the latest patch, please update and the DVD should work again.

After buying Premier Elements by Adobe and the accompanying Adobe instructional book, I was completely frustrated with the program. It was worthless - and this comes from someone who would marry Photoshop and Illustrator if it was legal. I highly recommend this software for everyone and anyone especially if you don't want to have a nervous breakdown trying to make Premier Elements do,what it is supposed to do.
