    Great Amp and Small Size!

I chose this amp because of it's small size and my size constraints. It works great. At 50 watts/channel @ 8 ohms, I wasn't sure if this would be powerful enough for my DefTech 8060ST speakers. It is MORE than powerful enough ... I've never turned the volume up beyond 65% - Which was insanely loud for my house and probably woke the neighbors. Like many amps, the remote control is a bit over complicated. And I wish there was simple BASS and TREBLE knobs on the front (instead of having to navigate through a complex on-screen menu system), but otherwise... Loving it.

Marantz has been around many years and is considered higher quality than most. This unit has a lot built into it for $500. Easy set up and produces better sound than the Harmon Kardon it replaced.

The sound quality is far superior to my previous Onkyo which cost significantly more. The slim profile is perfect for my needs. My only gripe is that the Bluetooth connection process is still buggy, requiring me to hard reset the entire system every time I want to pair a different device. Marantz really needs update the firmware. Seeing as though they aren't a software company I think it might never get fixed but built in Bluetooth isn't critical when purchasing a receiver like this since the one thing that it is supposed to do, it does well. The internet radio stations being built in is a nice touch and actually useful but most importantly I am happy that this unit does a superb job of powering my B&W 605 speakers.

Full disclosure I bought as a Daily Deal and was a great price. But at full price would just maybe take away a star for value. This is networked via Ethernet cable and BT. All high speed HDMI 4k etc. Looks great and very small and fairly heavy for it's size (for a 2017). So I/O is all you could need. Wish they were 5way binder post, but bare wire connectors are actually better technically. Solid thumb screws for tight connections but very close together- bit of a task to wire the speakers. Used Audessy (sp?) mic for the first time- strange results w/booming rears but I'm going to take another stab at it- definitely effects the sound! Unique feature I hated at first and now love is the low level dialogue boost (forget name), it will boost center channel dialog at low volumes. Anyway lots of features and sound modes. I liked the setup and options- you're able to rename and assign anything... Sound is subjective so for reference I had Rotel for years, had a few Harman Kardon, in the last few years just got an Harman and a Denon receiver- the low-mid grade network low power receivers. The HK locked up in a forced and failed bios update. So I bought this to replace it. I'd say this Marantz is heads and shoulders better than both the Denon and HK low priced receivers. Will power my 5 Klipsch little bookshelf speakers much louder than I'd want. I haven't yet listened to much music but movies and TV sound great- even got that 'heard new things and ambiance I didn't before' feeling. In summary: Quality sound, decent power, great features and inputs, a bit pricey at full price but probably worth it. So at any discount it's a huge thumbs up.

Let me start out by saying DO NOT let the 50W per channel discourage you from purchasing this AVR. This little gem is right up there with my Yamaha, that I am replacing after 15 years, which claims 110W per channel. I actually purchased the Denon AVR-X1300W first and was disappointed with the sound quality. It sounded like a tin can, even with a great subwoofer, compared to the Marantz. The sound is so smooth and butter like. Full and rich. Blows the Denon away hands down. Set up was a snap with the set up assistant that walks you through each step with ease. Streaming feature is great and works well. I do have to say that with both the Denon and the Marantz there are a few issues with streaming SiriusXM but Pandora and Spotify work flawlessly. Do not hesitate to purchase the NR1506 you will not be disappointed. Highly recommended.

This is a great receiver. Looks better and slimmer than most others. We preferred over the pioneer slection. Thankfully our purchase was on display. I love the Bluetooth capability and wifi connection. We can air drop songs straight from our phones.

Pros: Sounds great, plenty of power for my "New Advent" loudspeakers as mains, easy to set up, ample connections, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, lets you play audio and video from different sources. Cons: On-screen (TV) display is dated. Next model up is supposed to be nicer so maybe a future firmware upgrade? Bottom line: The worst thing I can say about it is that the seldom used onscreen display is lame. If you want a space conscious receiver with great audio, this is it!

I bought this 50W per channel WiFi Marantz receiver to replace my 24 year old Dennon DRA-835R 100W per channel receiver. Since I use this receiver in a home office, I don't need 100W per channel with my Altec Lansing 508 speakers. I setup the Marantz NR1506 receiver to receive music via Bluetooth from my iPhone, and used the included microphone and self-calibration to calibrate my speakers/room. Wow! The sound quality is excellent, and when then volume is cranked up, the sound is clean, natural, and the bass is solid. Very impressed!

Best home theater entry magnolia receiver for the money. Easy setup and huge performance for a slimline receiver. Everyone who hears it with my def-tech bipolar surround speakers can't believe it. Will definitely recommend to others.

The receiver has delivered everything the salesman promised it would. The Geek squad did the initial setup so I didn't realize how difficult the connectivity of the speaker wires was until I needed to connect some myself. The space between the wire connectors is very tight but once the connection is made is is very secure. Additionally this receiver doesn't permit a secondary set of speakers to be connected so you can't play music through just secondary speakers. Not a big deal unless that is something you are specifically looking to do.
