My first Marantz and I love it

Marantz - SR 7.2-Ch. Bluetooth Capable With HEOS 4K Ultra HD HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver - Black I have always wanted to have a Marantz receiver but I could never get myself to pay the higher price to feature ratio that it requires. Recently I had to replace a couple year old receiver that was failing. This is one of those times you wish you had gotten a Geek Squad warranty when you bought it but didn’t. I really didn’t need multichannel support but I do have it connected to a 4K TV so 4K support was a minimum requirement. In my first replacement attempt I got a feature rich receiver for a great price but ultimately the sound quality and its network performance were dismal at best. The more I shopped and researched I came to the conclusion that besides the receiver that failed my prior receivers lasted for years. They were replaced due to outdated technology and not for any other reasons. Like buying a TV a receiver can last you for years. Taken from that perspective and the number of hours I actually use my receiver the cost to upgrade for the better quality was not anything as much as I thought. I am completely satisfied with the sound quality I get from this receiver. It is very natural and has a warm sound that just seems to float. It has real power which gives it great dynamics. The lows are smooth and the highs are crystal clear. I put on a sleep timer and look forward to going to bed with such great sound. Another requirement for me was network stability. The Marantz always shows up on my phone and is ready for me to start playing music from my local network before I even get into the bedroom. It has had around three updates in the few months I have had it and its stable as a rock. It looks as nice as it sounds. It works great with my Nvidia Shield media streamer to watch regular TV and the Shield remote turns both the receiver and TV on and off with almost stupid ease. I really feel I have bought the quality I wanted and expected and it was worth the price.

I debated a long time on which AVR receiver to go with to replace a Pioneer Elite model. I liked the Pioneer but unfortunately a couple of the HDMI connections had become loose due to strain put on them by cables which were too short. Be sure to buy cables long enough to avoid putting strain on the receiver's connections. After a long time comparing various models - their statistics and reviews - I finally decided to take a chance on the Marantz even though it was more expensive than the other models under consideration. I'm really glad I went with the Marantz as it provides an immersive sound experience with lots of bass slam where required along with easy setup and sound functions.

I upgraded from an Onkyo TR-NX 555 to this. This really drives the speakers! Great sound. Best part is that the Marantz is a much better AV receiver, as it meshes flawlessly with my components. I always had issues with Onkyo controlling other components. Also, bluetooth works great on the Marantz, another big improvement vs. Onkyo. Very happy with the purchase.

Previously had the Sony STR DN1080 and began having issues with the Sony turning on randomly while everything else was off. As a result, we were in the market for a new receiver. This Marantz does not disappoint. It has such smooth sound and really distributes the surround well. No complaints - the remote is nice - the entire unit is easy to get up and going with minimal effort. Well done, Marantz!

Outstanding processor and Amp, well built. Coming from someone who has only used high end equipment, Sunfire Amp, and Rotel Pre Amp, this Marantz is the real deal. I liked its processing capabilities so much that I bought another unit to replace my old Rotel. Plenty of clean power, great circuitry.. Nice job Marantz!

Bought this to replace a Sony ES av receiver when I purchased a new 4k tv, and I'm very pleased. The sound quality is great, and the options are extensive (I like tons of options). It doesn't turn on automatically with the equipment like my Sony did, even with ARC enabled, but that's about the only downside I can think of. It does switch inputs when I turn on the PS4 for example though. Bluetooth connection works good, and sounds good. Power is definitely there, and the calibration got me pretty close.

This receiver easily drives my Bose indoor 5 speaker/woofer system plus my two large outside speakers. I previously had a receiver that was supposed to do that, but you could barely hear the sound on the outside speakers. The Marantz handles everything with ease, producing clear, rich sound without the need to have it at high volume. Great receiver for the money and perfect for my needs. The minimalist design is surprisingly easy to use.

I replaced my Denon receiver that was having some issues. from the minute I plugged this in, i had a clearer picture, the sound is flat out amazing and it is overall an amazing addition to the house. Before, i always wondered whether or not all the surround speakers were working properly. with this, i can simply turn my head towards and i can actually hear them working, but when facing the tv........perfectly in sync! I highly recommend

I was a little hesitant to spend an extra $200 on this compared to the one of the Denon's, but I am glad I did. I tested both at home and wow the Marantz has a much better sound for the extra money. I tested many receivers in the $600 to $1200 range. (Frys saw a lot of returns.) For the money, this receiver is worth every penny. It is easily worth double of any $500 to $600 receiver.

upgraded to Marantz SR-5013 from a Yamaha RX-A660. I don't know if there was something wrong with the Yamaha but holy crap the bass output difference is staggering. I ran YPAO multiple times and even manually calibrated with decibel meter on my phone. The latter helped a little. But just plugging the same speaker setup into the Marantz and running Audessey. Wow, Now I feel like I'm actually in a movie theatre. It brought that sub to life. My sub is a Klipsch R12SW. I always thought man this sub should be thundering way more than this. On the Yamaha it just felt boomy and not very punchy at all. Now with the Marantz. It's like I bought a new sub. Scenes in films I used for reference jesus man. Literal night and day difference.

I was a fanboy of Onkyo AVRs for many years. Owned 3 of them. Quality is excellent but wanted to try something new. This Marantz SR-5013 was recommend by a friend. I paired this AVR with a Emotiva A-500 amplifier. The picture quality is on par with Onkyo and ease of setup. The sound without the amplifier is great but paired with the amp it took it to another level. This Marantz has 99.9 percent of all the latest technology that you need to enjoy todays home theater experience.

I've always had a "home theatre in a box" type product. This was my first purchase of an AVR. Also purchased Definitive Technology speakers. The sound is great. Very satisfied. Very strong bass that shakes the windows if set too high. Music sounds great, including streaming via Alexa. Heos App is a little quirky.

Sounds Great and was easy to set up. My speakers have never sounded like this. The Audyssey balancing system for speaker calibration with the on screen set up was a snap. The plug in for the mic is located behind the pull down at the right side of the control buttons on the right hand side.

This Marantz receiver has so many features I haven't learned them all yet. I can access the on screen setup and settings from my iPhone. There are plenty of HDMI inputs plus I can listen to two different things at the same time like football game inside and music on the porch. The settings aren't super easy to figure out but I haven't spent much time on that yet - too much fun just using it. Plenty of power for my standalone Subwoofer as well.

I have 3 Marantz receivers. All produce great surround sound. Two of them run 24/7 for music around the house. Great sound and reliable. Listen to Marantz and whatever other brand you might be thinking of, on the exact speakers you are going to use. You will hear a BIG quality of sound improvement with the Marantz. These things will last decades, so don't save a couple bucks on something inferior. My two cents worth. Buy Marantz!

Got this unit for $500. Believe it was a display unit. I would not have paid it's original MSRP. I Upgraded from a Yamaha RXV775 which didn't support HDR passthrough. The marantz beats the Yamaha sounds wise as well as features. I also feel Audissey calibration is much better than YPAO, so I don't have to struggle to hear dialog from my center channel. The surround sound from TV and films is a lot more immersive and enveloping. Definitely recommended.

Was a Yamaha owner / fan for years....still am. That being said, the legendary warm sound of Marantz brought me here for this turn and I'm not disappointed. The auto-set up brought the sound up spot on, just needed to add a little bass for personal taste. Primarily for music / turn table in particular with movies being secondary on my list, paired with my B&W 684's, a B&W CM2 Center Channel, and an SVS 12" sub I couldn't be happier. Highly recommend.
